Ford is preparing a "volunteer" opportunity for salaried workers to use as scabs and they are talking about Mexico. UAW needs to make sure the union doesn't end at the border. I support labor unions very much since I am a member of a union. At the same time, the United Automobile Workers (UAW) union needs to prevent automobile plants from moving to Mexico. Why are you hurting your own membership by not holding the U.S. automobile companies accountable?

I bought a Ford Focus several years ago. The transmission and CD player both died at 40,000 miles. The check engine light was always turning on, and the dealer finally just took out a chip so that it would never turn on. Turns out my American car was made in Mexico. I traded the Focus in and got a Toyota Corolla that was at least partly made in the US.

At the time most Americans got fucked over because no one demanded accountability during the bailout. For 2023, restoring COLA is actually one of the demands in the negotiations this time. I am not sure if its retroactive but I hope it is. I recommend you look at some union interviews on The Majority Report with Sam Seder about the issues instead of rage inducing Fox news or ass kissing MSNBC. Sam Seder is the only reason I even know what COLA is. You can also see retrospectives about the 2000s era in the Blowback Podcast.
