    could you use a 2000 pad on the physix to get rid of the lane shine?

      @@LukeRosdahl Thank you for your reply. I am going to start bowling tournaments soon and just would like to know what bowling balls you would like and typically bring and other accessories I should bring to tournaments.

    I just picked up my Physix this week and the first game I bowled with it I got a 204! I also bowl two-handed and let me tell you this ball HOOKS. It hits harder than any other ball i've thrown. This will be in the arsenal for a very long time.

      Yup, a favorite of mine too, it's made me a lot of money!

    I’m just getting back into bowling after about 10 years. The ball I’m using is the original X factor. Right now I’m bowling in a league every other week. What would be a good ball to step up to from the X factor? I’ve gotten mixed answers. There are so many options right now. Thanks in advance.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well here's the deal, the X Factor USED to be a top of the line ball, but in today's world, it isn't going to hook as much as even their middle of the road stuff, so it's REALLY difficult to tell where that old of a ball would fit and what would be weaker and what would be stronger. A good safe bet would be an IQ Tour Solid. It's not crazy strong, it's not super flippy, just a good place to start with a controllable ball that will help you adjust to the world of bowling equipment today. Once you then have that baseline set, we can go from there.

    Very true words. I generally only use two balls in league ink and cherry vibe. When I try and mix it up they don’t look right and scores suffer. I’ve had good scores with all my balls but only when the time is right.

    So I’m trying to build my arsenal. I have a no rules , a hyroad pearl and a phaze 2 the phaze 2 hasn’t been rolling super well for me it seems very over under for me and I don’t really ever have a need to use it. I’m trying to refill my arsenal with a new heavy oil ball . A good step down from that and then the hyroad pearl which I absolutely adore. I just saw the reveal of the crux prime and it sounds impressive but it would be between that and the physix and then I’d need a ball to fill in the slot of my phaze 2 . I have about a 300 rev right with about 15-16 mph. I bowl occasionally on sport shots but mostly just ths leagues

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the Crux Prime would be the most like the No Rules, but I won't get it for another couple weeks so I'll have to wait and see. I do know the PhysiX has been really good for me, been pretty happy so far

    • @5278ryan
      @5278ryan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luke Rosdahl any recommendations for an in between benchmark kind of ball to replace my phaze 2

    • @5278ryan
      @5278ryan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      How strong is the physiX truly ? I was wondering a physiX with a medium strength layout could take the place and of the phaze 2 and then get a crux prime for the heavy slot

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not like ultra strong, but it could definitely take the place of the Phaze 2 plus a bit, and yeah I'm sure the Crux Prime will hook more, but maybe not by a ton. I'll compare them in my video when I get the Prime

    • @5278ryan
      @5278ryan 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Luke Rosdahl yeah I’ll wait til then to see it’s true reaction before making a decision. Got a gift card to my pro shop for 200 for Christmas so trying to see what I’m going to use it on haha . Thanks for your input I’ll eagerly await your crux prime review!

    Hi Luke! Love your reviews! Your review and opinion videos on the original Intense sold me on that ball.
    Currently, my Intense (drilled with Storm's 5x4x3 layout - so the pin is in my ring finger) is my benchmark ball, to test out lane conditions, during league practice. I even named it "Ol' Reliable" (lol), because, for me, it's very rare that it will overhook. However, I'm looking to build my arsenal, and could use your wisdom.
    I'm looking for something stronger, to be more aggressive than my Intense, as well as something weaker, to step down from my Intense.
    I do have a Black Widow Dark Legend Solid, however I must've had it drilled to be too weak (the pin is next to my ring finger - layout #4 on Hammer's drill sheet), because lately the lanes at my league house have been really sludgy and the Widow seems to react too late and has no time to recover, where the Intense - by pulling the line a little tighter - would show a little movement (doing the same with the Widow, the movement wasn't as consistent). I know I could just have the Widow plugged and re-drilled, but I'd rather just get a Storm ball, because I've always felt more comfortable/confident, throwing a Storm ball (I've tried throwing a Hammer before - an Epidemic - and that didn't seem to "click" well with me, either, where I've thrown a Trauma Recovery for years with great success). I have bought an Intense Fire, but its reaction - for me - is a little more touchy (throw it out too far to the right and it'll either just skid and use up all its energy or, far enough to the right, and it'll come back, but with less energy, at a high entry angle - or pull the line tighter, like with the Intense, and it'll skid a little further, before making the turn).
    My style is a Stroker/Tweener. And more speed-dominate (my league house is so old, there are no computer screens for speed readouts/scores - yes, that means we still keep score with a paper and pencil! lol!) I couldn't tell you my rev rate - the only thing I can say is that, typically, the Intense will have 4 oil rings on it (I know, that's probably not that helpful) and I have a high track. Also, I throw a 14 pound ball.
    With that said - for heavier conditions, I was thinking of the Physix with a 4x4x1 layout. And, for lighter conditions, a Hy Road X with a 4x4x2 layout. Would those be a good choice? What would you suggest?
    Also, what cleaner would you recommend (for both the Intense and any of your suggestions)? Right now, after every league night, I just clean them with rubbing alcohol.
    Sorry for such a long post! I just didn't want to ask for your suggestion, without explaining what I have tried and what has/has not worked for me.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well first of all as I was reading, the PhysiX came to mind before I got down to where you were already thinking about it, so I think that one is a definite. Intense to Hyroad X is a pretty big jump, but it might be the RIGHT jump, especially because the X is a solid and will take very well to coverstock adjustments, so I actually think your thoughts are great. I'd actually recommend something like True Blue or Reacta Foam for cleaner, or Ebonite's Energizer cleaner is pretty good too.

    • @DeadHippieMan
      @DeadHippieMan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LukeRosdahl Thanks for the input! I appreciate it! :) Just a few more quick questions - are the layouts, that I chose, a good match for my style? I'm more concerned with getting the Hy Road X to be matched up just right - I'm looking for the nice shape that you and Angel see with it - nothing very angular - because, I feel like it could become my new benchmark ball.
      Also, would you recommend that I have my Intense Fire sanded (at least to remove the polish)?
      It's current layout is close to the 5x3x4 (on Storm's drill spec sheet) - my pin is just a little higher, than what they have in the picture. And throwing over the 2nd arrow will cause it to react too late, where I typically leave the 2-4-5.
      I like my Fire's shape (more rollout, rather than a very hard, sharp angle), but - I'm guessing - I just need to shorten its length. I've read that sanding a polished ball moves the breakpoint closer to me. However, I've never touched a ball's surface before, so I wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do with the Fire. If sanding it is something to consider, what grit should I go with? 2000?
      Or just I just plug and redrill it, if I want to get better use of down the road?

    I agree with your statement about certain balls having a purpose. I dont get a chance to bowl in league a ton and certain balls just dont match up on house and that’s perfectly fine. For me My Idol is not a league ball but my Phaze II is. Time and place.

    Luv your vids Luke. Growing my arsenal and need some advice. 180 lge player currently, always moving up since starting 2 years ago and I've started doing a couple House Tourneys and hoping to get to sport one's soon. Currently I have a Sure Lock, Hyper Cell Fused, and a roto spare ball. Looking for something symetrical and weaker then my 2 big boy blocks. Mid speed, med rev tweener bowler. Been locking in on the Hy Road X or Idol Pearl, leaning towards the X mostly to balance out my current arsenal. Tell me what to do! lol. Thanx :)

    Where is the physix once it shines in comparison to the phaze ii that has lane shined some(which i like more than oob). I roll the ball two handed around 550 revs at 15-16ish mph.

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're actually not too far off, I have both and love both with shine, they get down the lane better but still have the same kind of finish on the backend, the PhysiX is like an asym version, punchier on the backend, so starting with the Phaze 2 and then moving to the PhysiX as you move left for the extra torque to help corner is a great 1-2 punch

    A fair bit off topic from the video, but I have a question, and don’t know how else to ask you. I have a Dare Devil Danger with a long pin to PAP, and it is a godsend on burn/ transition. I want to recommend it to others, but it got discontinued. What other ball is out there that is super easy through the fronts, with a decisive movement downland that works well late in the day?

    • @LukeRosdahl
      @LukeRosdahl  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Hyroad has been that ball lately. The issue is that the Danger has a super low RG so it rolls a bit stronger in the middle where the Hyroad gets to the point where angle makes it a tad lazy down the lane. The Danger was always my garbage time savior and balls like that are hard to find. The Idol Pearl may be that ball though, check into it.

  • @thatloudCG5
    @thatloudCG5 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I did notice it somewhat gets lazy vs something with the RAD-X in it. Not totally sure why as NRG is one of the stronger covers, but GI-15/GI-17 aren't fooling my eyes when going round the corner and not stopping. PhysiX DOES remind me of the No Rules though so it's definitely a good replacement.
