What breeders want for the Maltese is ridicules ,they must be out of their freaking minds. I called one and they wanted 5 to 6 thousand dollars. Add to that the greed of Veterinarians makes it very difficult to own one.

OH YEAH. The pup is SO VERY DANGEROUS that you have to keep him in a cage. Try being HUMANE to the poor baby dog, and call it his ROOM. Because I saw NOTHING WHATSOEVER DANGEROUS about the tiny puppy.
It looks like that's the cage the puppy was brought home in and is being let out for the very first time. There's nothing to indicate that there's any other reason for pup being in the cage.
Crates are like a little bedroom or den for dogs. For puppies, the small size gives them a feeling of security plus it encourages them to "hold it" until they are let outside. You can keep it in your bedroom so they are right by your side at night. When they are older, it can be left open at night.
