Well, civil law is complicated, but it seems she's suing the person on whose platform the determination happened. McG has a responsibility to also fact-check and edit out allegations that can get him sued that are broadcasted on his show.
MacG has a disclaimer at the beginning of every episode of his podcast. Also there's nothing defaming in what was said. All he did was insult her, which hurt her feelings. Nothing defaming there...in my opinion

Owamie, I believe the defamation has to do with Toll Ass Mo saying that Rosie was coaching Lerato to sue him and that she was attacking Toll Ass Mo, not her looks. Also, she could be suing the Podcast because they aired the defaming parts of Mo's interview.
But the podcast have a disclaimer at the beginning of each episode

Rosie could actually build a case based on other episodes that don't even include her to prove how defaming the podcast can be (assuming it's true since I hardly ever watch the show).
Does she have a case? Probably. Will she win? I have my doubts, as it's very tricky to prove defamation. Some people sue not to win but to set an example for anyone in the future who wants to speak negatively about them. Maybe that's her angle.

Podcasts Owners will learn lessons watching and learning what is happening in USA with Podcasts. People are taken to cleaners there. Legally you are entitled to a Right of Reply to allegations made against you. NOT AFTER THE STREAMING. Is what the guy said defamatory? YES it is defamatory. And more Podcasts Owners will see flames after this case. Unless you familiarize yourself about why Right of Reply is VIP at the point and time of interview and broadcast. And not afterwards. MacG should have atleast stopped interview and called Rosy Motene to afford her Right of Reply. And let his viewers hear her side of story. Many Podcasts will go bankrupt with time. Rosy is onto something BIG in SA, that will create a legal precedence😅
No I disagree with you. You need to understand the context of the interview. The interview was not about rose motene, she happened to be mentioned in passing. Besides, there is a legal expression before every podcast an chill episode clearly stating the views expressed by the guests are accounted for by the guests and not them. If you know the laws clearly, you will know about freedom of speech cause none of them affirmed what MO said, instead they laughed it out as an expression after what he said. The wrong party is sued. Familiarise yourself with South African laws, we are not like the US.

TH-cam is a serious hustle when you have numbers as followers. Look how channels of people like Mr Beast are raking thousands of dollars per minute on TH-cam and Twitter-X. In Africa I can cite Wode Maya in Ghana. He started from nowhere. Today he runs a serious gig paying him serious dollars. Lynn Ngugi from Kenya is now recently on 1million Subscribers. I remember her channel years ago. When she covered SA Politics and Cyril Ramaphosa. She was heaped with insults at barely 500 Subscribers. Today she's competing with big Broadcasters and has Sponsors and Advertisers clammering onto her like they do to top celebrities. So I respect everybody trying. You never know.
