Recently read “Anti-Judaism - The Western Tradition”, by David Nirenberg. A profound examination of the history of the use of “Judaism” and “Jews” (in twisted, unreal, abstract versions) as a conceptual placeholder for “the wrong way to go”, in christianity and in islam. I humbly highly recommend it.
@ Additionally, the book illuminates how this negative stance grew from the relatively philosophical negativity of early christianity, increasing through times of inquisition and expulsions, culminating in the nazi mission to exterminate the Jews, as the idea grew that “Judaism” and “Jews” were what was wrong with everything, and the cause of all the ills of the world. May the world come to see that the opposite is true, that the Jews could lead the world out of darkness, and the fulfillment of Hashem’s will.
