I remember playing this for the first time on the Nintendo Switch Online NES player, and I thought it was extremely uncanny seeing a NES game run and animate so damn well without the pixels freaking out. I do mean uncanny in the best way possible btw, it's insanely impressive how good this game looks and flows visually. It's crazy and intensely satisfying to see a 30 year old game look and feel like a modern indie game. If I didn't know any better and someone told me that this game was an indie game made last year that attempts to recapture the familiar aesthetic and retro look of an NES game while also being polished and finetuned for modern standards, I'd totally believe them
Saw this posted on Reddit, did not realize someone had bridged two of my favorite things: retro gaming + animation!! Really enjoyed this dive deep 👌😁
Aw thank you so much :) hoping to do more animation analysis in the future!

I completely agree! it's the best looking game on the system in my opinion
Great video! Reminds me of the vibe of some of the best nitrome games. Thanks for making this!
Thanks so much! You’re a right about the nitrome comparison, I could definitely see this being a classic browser or phone game
goated game
