Raizen in Brazil is currently building 10 new cellulosic ethanol plants using bagasse (sugar cane residue) as the feedstock. Each plant will produce 60 million liters per year of ethanol.

These cellulose plants are probably better used for paper plates and food boxes to eliminate plastic waste in our landfill

There was a book that proposed instead of milion gallon alcohol per year plants drawing from a large area 10,000 gallon per year to cut transportation cost and the cost of drying the distillers mash. Wonder your thoughts on the matter?

Considering the renewable / green aspect, have you done or are considering a presentation on the water demands for these endeavors? Thank you Prof Ruzic. Excellent series of mini-lectures.

Another reason to heat with wood is a power outage.

would be better if you go into compressing or Torrefaction them. The end product is still solid fuel, but seems more promising to me than acids or enzymes.

Love ... but not to the level of producing fuel for fireplaces!
