Is it true that ES is the same as the previous activity's EF (around 34:57)? PMBOK (5th ed) does not show this (see Figure 6-18), but instead shows ES = previous activity EF+1.
Dear Karol Skadiang, You are right the early start of successor is actually EF of predecessor plus 1 day.. In the provided diagram & explanation you should you should read finish day as end of that day & Start day as the start of next day. For Example Activity 1 finishes on day 3 which means end of day three, further start day of Activity 2 is written as 3 which means start of day 4. Indicating this way would help the calculation become simplier i.e. 3+3=6 the finish day and so on. However, for the same thing you can also put day-4 as the starting day of Activity 2, but while calculating finish day you should use -1 to get the correct finishing day... For example the duration of Activity 2 is 3 days, if I add 3 to start day 4 it will become 7 which is wrong (i.e. 4+3 = 7).. In this case you should calculate like this 4+3-1 = 6, which will give you correct value. Hope this helps...!?
