- While at Disney, a TH-cam fan of Tommy's channel said hi to us. Their TH-cam channel is "JonasAlmostFamous" Yesterday, we saw that a video they posted in November of a little girl arguing with Gaston is going viral right now!!! Isabella, who was determined to tell Gaston the real deal, and they posted it to TH-cam! We love your video! This video is when Tommy met Gaston- Tommy interrogated Gaston, who called himself a hero and "Gastonishing" while telling Tommy about Belle and Beast. Tommy met him outside Gaston's Tavern in Fantasyland at Walt Disney World. Gaston showed Tommy how to flex his biceps for the photo. He confidently informed us we were happy to see him! In short- he was positively primeval. Thanks for the egotistical chat, Gaston!

I'm actually really impressed on how this Gaston is a douche as a character, but never at the expense of Tommy. I'm not sure if I would be able to be this patient. It's great to see and it's really clear to me how much fun Tommy is having. Thanks for sharing this video.

This is not the Gaston who passed away I see so many comments. This is Daniel McLeod. He left Disney and is now a personal trainer and you can find his info on instagram. Dan aka Gaston was so great and patient with Tommy. How awesome. Not many especially with a long line would spend this much time and be so polite and funny and kind. I wish he was still there so whenever I can get there with my son I could see him. I’m permanently disabled and bedridden now 4yrs. But I’m hoping to get a reclining wheelchair so I can go out but be able to be almost flat. I love how he taught tommy how to flex!!!
I can see why he left to become a personal trainer. =D He's been working out in real life I bet.

Fawad Naeem I am sure it's not the same guy. I've just googled photos and it's a different dude. He played Gaston as well. He looks similair though.

This is such a great video - it's so wonderful to see how obliging Gaston was, and how much Tommy clearly admired him! The flexing thing was hilarious and charming, especially how Tommy looked at Gaston to mimic his expression. :D
Part of my job working as a Teacher's Aide/Assistant includes supporting students with intellectual disabilities, including autism. Amongst others, this part of my job has always been my favourite/preferred as it's challenged me to learn and grow beyond anything I'd known or imagined before starting, and thus I always gravitate toward it when given the option. Autistic children and young adults in particular have such brilliantly creative minds when you actually make the time, learn some patience and open your heart enough to truly experience it. I wish more people could have the experiences I have, if only to realize how much better we can be for it. It's been a real joy! :)

You can see the magic sparking inside of Tommy and it's so adorable. I probably would've burst out laughing when he said "What did you do to Belle second." due to my dirty mind but hey, if it wasn't for the gutter, my mind wouldn't have a home!

This actor died in a freak fireworks incident this past Fourth Of July. His name was Devin Staples and he was just 22 years of age.
This "Gaston" is alive and well, though no longer working for Disney. His name is Daniel McLeod. The young man you're thinking of was Devon Staples.
Daniel's now working as a personal fitness trainer, and boy has Gaston rubbed off on him now. =D

Autism is a challenge indeed...but it comes with gifts and joys...and Disney World is a place where Tommy is embraced for exactly who he is :) Hope you get a chance sometime to experience spending a day with someone like Tommy, or anyone who gives you a whole new perspective on life :) hugs.
lookyus I've been with lots of different kinds of people so I know how it is for them. But you have to admit you would get very annoyed when somoene keeps repeating himself over and over again.
wolf315stacey Wow. Here is the thing. If you are an impatient person with no empathy for others and their struggles, perhaps you would feel annoyed. However, if you are a person who is able to give another human being credit for the monumental effort they are making, just to do a seemingly simple thing that the rest of us take for granted, like speech, and language, then you will see the miracle that someone like Tommy presents to you: That they have overcome all odds, and become verbal. When it was not likely to ever happen for them. And then you will see the joy, and walk away seeing everything you previously thought you understood about yourself, and life, and others, in a whole new perspective. And you will never see the world the same way again. I hope you experience that. I really do. Best wishes to you
lookyus Look. I've never said that I'm not happy for him that he can live a life in which he enjoys it. But where I'm getting at is that it would be pretty annoying. I mean, that Gaston is doing a great job, seeing all the videos of him. And I know it's a great guy. But looking at the length of the video and the editing at the end, it seemed that he spended a really large amount of time with him. And looking at that line, there are a lot of people that would want to meet Gaston and speak for him.
In his eyes his questions might seem very good for him, but asking what he did first, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th makes it pretty annoying for another person to handle with that, as you could see from Gaston's reaction.
Not that I'm saying it's Tommy's fault for that, but you also have to realise it could be annoying for others to have to deal with "a stranger".
It's like spending a day with a person who you don't know, and has Tourette syndrome. He keeps shouting and punching you all day long, and personally I would get irritated at the end of the day.
wolf315stacey First of all, you might wish to educate yourself better about Tourette's Syndrome before imagining a scenario that is full of myths and stereotypes. Secondly, yes. There is a line of people that wish to meet Gaston. Tommy is one of those guests. He waits in line, and shares the same wish as any guest to meet the characters. Gaston spent 4 minutes with Tommy. 4 minutes, where the others in line were able to listen in and share in Gaston's witty answers. 4 minutes where Gaston connected with a disabled person. 4 minutes in perfect weather, at a park where dreams come true. 4 minutes where they might have seen a reminder of how blessed they are just to have the ability to speak and think clearly, and communicate readily. 4 minutes where they might have realized that whatever they felt was annoying in their own lives might actually be not quite as difficult as they thought. All because one person, ahead of them in line, was different. And forging ahead despite his personal struggles. And doing his best in a world that is full of people ready to misjudge him. And a world where kindness ( in this case, from one character actor) means everything. Oh, and by the way, Tommy is a marathon runner, who recently ran 2:39 in a marathon. He is an elite athlete. He is known to the Disney Cast Members for his incredible athletic achievements. He is respected by them, and they are very excited to meet him, because they know who he is due to his impressive abilities, hard work, and talents. If you search his channel for marathons and half marathons, you will see that his abilities far outshine his disability. Best wishes to you. Sorry if you find life far too irritating. I hope you overcome that disability, I really do!
