What the hell was Sinbad thinking getting Jimmy and Eddie to dig up Trevor's body on his patio? Because of that Beth and Mandy both got arrested and imprisoned.
I remember watching this with my Granda as a 17 year old and she burst out loughing in her armchair at Eddie's reaction to 'the hand'. She died in 2006 god bless her but this was one of my funniest memories of TV with her. Thanks so much for posting!
Wow I was 7 when this aired. I always remember Jimmy Corkhill jumping back from seeing a hand. But I could never remember anything else. Thanks for posting.
Nope. Leave it in the past. That's how nostalgia works. Makes you long for something that was impactful at the time. Remakes and revival always disappoint. Always.
I seem to remember the drains were blocked, and whilst Sinbad and the others were away on holiday Eddie dug up his garden to find the problem. Got more than he bargained for, obviously.
best soap ever to embrace british telly, all of brooksides story lines wer great. it was so sad to see it get axed in 2003 and they never shud hav ended it wiv the estate being sold, it cud hav been bein brought bk =[ ahh well we still got all ov its gud memories
WTF did they end Brooky??????? Watching this reminds me it was alot better than the trash that is now shown in Eastenders, corrie and emerdale. Glad I left the UK 10years ago. I doubt I am missing much
Yeah with it being a soap especially in the 90s such things were never really questioned. Although in reality, since his body was wrapped up in loads of plastic bin liners that would in fact slow down the rate of decomposing, but not to the extent shown here.
This was one of the best soap moments of all time, because soaps up until that point didn't have the balls to do this for some reason. This was definitely a first at the time.
best storyline in british soap ever. "Who shot phil mitchell?" doesnt even come close! And the brookside music when the adverts came on, I havnt heard that in years, brings back memories!
Remember hiding in the kitchen from this scene as a kid. Watching tonights corrie made me think of this so came to find it. My dad was right about seeing his hand, always thought he was kiding to scare me more!
The clever thing about the body under the patio storyline was that it presented the idea of burying Trevor in the backyard as the solution to making the problem go away, yet actually made the problem remain and become bigger and bigger.
@stuartpatto1976 Right now I'm in Chicago, IL but live in Dallas, TX. I've been to Germany, Ireland, Kuwait and Iraq. Since I was in the military I didn't get to explore the way I wanted too. Met some really good people from there though. Mostly I want to visit the Highlands in Scotland and everywhere in London.
What a fab clip. Thank you. It was good TV wasn't it. Some would say it had already lost the plot by this point but I think this was one of the show's best storylines. :) x
Delboylover1997 The two girls killed their dad Trevor, and hid him under the dirt, then Jimmy and Eddie dug up the dirt, looking for money or something valuable and they find the body.
the year before the Simpsons gang moved into no.9 the long months later that Eleanor & Louise shown up after half of the Simpsons got split up & moved somewhere else
If they were to bring this soap back it would be a stroke of genius. The crap thats on now....reality this ,dancing on x factor get me out of here bullshit....I miss this programme BRING IT BACK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
What has happened to the sound quality? Its over driven and distorted. AND *MORE* IMPORTANTLY STILL is what has happened to Sheila Grant's famous bedroom arched net curtains!
Brookside was and is the best soap opera ever to be broadcasted on British television. Shouldn't have been axed la
i do remember it getting fairly shit before i ended though
+Reanimated_Dead_Flesh yeah it went to pot near the end the story lines was becoming far fetched.
Dark Soul it went like hollyoaks 👎
I really think they ought to have used subtitles.
I found the show very working class.

I miss Brookside even after all these years - Jimmy Corkhill = Legend 💯
Yes he was 🙂 I don't know who got the biggest fright then ha ha 😂
Eddie: “It’s it’s a hand!
Jimmy: “ Yer wot?” 😂
brookside was class back in the day. watched it as a kid
woollett182 I watched it as a goat
Simon George greatest of all time!
Wow I was 7 when this aired. I always remember Jimmy Corkhill jumping back from seeing a hand. But I could never remember anything else. Thanks for posting.
Here after Dean Sullivan's death today. RIP Jimmy Corkhill - his character and storylines are still in my memory 30 years later
Dean Sullivan was superb!!! He was a wotsit...icon
This was,and is one of the BEST scenes ever in any soap!!!!
Classic
Love Brookside me!!
Yes indeed ha ha 😂 sorry for laughing.
@@deirdrewemyss-pr9lu 😉🤣🤣
@@davidjones6470 I was surprised the body didn't waste away from been there for nearly two years 😮
@@deirdrewemyss-pr9lu good point
It was yes. The hand was a prop. If a body was under the ground for a long time, it would waste away.
I was heartbroken wen they axed this programme ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️bring it back
Koser Parveen same here. Still find it hard to watch last episode
👍
I was gutted watching last episode

The golden era of Brookie. Sadly it declined massively to a slow death in its final years.
They killed themselves trying to compete with EastEnders which was the Top Dog at that point. Even Emmerdale was a formidable rival.
Dog completely oblivious to smell of corpse.
This was a great moment in Brookside.
Yes it was 😂 sorry for laughing.
One of those classic Brookside moments - BRING BACK BROOKIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this was the ultimate soap story line of all time. brookie was ledge loved watching it when i was young. jimmy corkhill and barry grant were the best
*LMAO* Jimmy Corkhill's reaction. I think he'd given up the smack at that point.
He did yes. I still laugh when I see it 😂
That was Brookside's most memorable scene 😂 sorry for laughing.
Jimmys reaction to the hand was absolutely hilarious 😂😂😂
Jimmy Corkhill seeing Trevor's hand gave him a bigger kick than all the smack he took
Remember watching this episode when it first aired. Good storyline.
Acting of the highest quality here from Ed 'n Jim!
NEVER
GETS
OLD
:)
The most memorable moment on tv ha ha 😂 sorry for laughing.
This epidsode had 5 million viewers, watching. This is when they sparked a campaigne, for Domestic Violence.
one of the most spookiest TV moments of all time...epic Brookside moment
Yes indeed ha ha 😂 sorry for laughing.
The best actor in that entire scene was the corpse.
giggle
That was me ! True
Haha x
A der a der its a hand 😂😂😂😂
Ha
Trevor must have been proper pumped up with embalming fluid there 😂
one of the best clips ever
This storyline made me start watching Brookside.
I didnt watch Brookie for long but I remeber this vivdly!
I would love to see the armed robbery episode with Joey Godden again . " Open da door , open da door I've gat da mooney" 🤣🤣🤣
This is from a VHS I recoreded during Channel 4's 15th Birthday celebrations in December 1997, hence the themed bumper at the end of the clip.
I remember this episode. Channel 4 aired this episode at 9PM due to it's graphic content.
Classic episode. Also the most watched of all the episodes in Brookside.
best soap ever to embrace british telly, all of brooksides story lines wer great. it was so sad to see it get axed in 2003 and they never shud hav ended it wiv the estate being sold, it cud hav been bein brought bk =[ ahh well we still got all ov its gud memories
by far the best soap ever jimmy is the boy
I actually shed tears that day
WTF did they end Brooky??????? Watching this reminds me it was alot better than the trash that is now shown in Eastenders, corrie and emerdale. Glad I left the UK 10years ago. I doubt I am missing much
Haha that was classic. Loved Jimmy what a legend.
I wonder who played the hand. I wonder if he ever boasted about it at parties. "Yes I played the hand this hand here in fact" 😂😂
This scene is where they coined the phrase "body under the patio"
OMG I’ll never forgot watched this episode have me scared shit out of me when I was as a kid!
Reading the comments on here I clearly wasn't the only one who questioned him being in the ground for 2 years and yet he hadn't decomposed
Yeah with it being a soap especially in the 90s such things were never really questioned. Although in reality, since his body was wrapped up in loads of plastic bin liners that would in fact slow down the rate of decomposing, but not to the extent shown here.

No but they had plane crashes and sieges on pubs and post offices...
Love brookside should be brought back
I was gutted Mandy got caught like that. I thought she was one of the greatest Brookside actors I have ever seen
That body was under the patio for nearly 2 years. How the hell is it not a skeleton? Or even decomposed in any way?
Bin dippers know their bin bags
It was the same in Shameless, when Sheila Jackson buried her husband, in the patio.
because it's a soap opera 😂
Sin should have buried Trevor in the woods behind the Dicko’s and Maxie Farnham’s properties.
@@TruckerJenkins82 What?
This storyline was actually based upon what happened in my home town in Stevenage.
What happened
i loved this storyline
how was the body not decomposed? that made no sense
Not a documentary.
That bass ❤️
The Jordaches and Sinbad had already fled to Ireland at the time.
LMAOOOOO the fucking music just destroyed everybody's tv hahaha
Ever since this I never messed with a woman with a patio
best storyline in british soap ever. "Who shot phil mitchell?" doesnt even come close!

Bring back brookie!
I left England in 2001, they still do not have drive through ATMS or Banks? Holy cow.
TheEnglishbloke71 there was a drive through Natwest bank in Toxteth in Liverpool but guess what? It closed down!
Brookside was the only soap i watched.
The clever thing about the body under the patio storyline was that it presented the idea of burying Trevor in the backyard as the solution to making the problem go away, yet actually made the problem remain and become bigger and bigger.
Fancy putting the bod in bin bags, just chuck it in not preserve it!!
shat my pants at the time...almost did again!
It was a great programme for years right up until the Nat & Georgia storyline
that was pants to say the least . Who'd shag their own sister , it's bad enough having to talk to the fkrs
Brookside was the best up until the disaster, cannot remember what happened. Then it was shit, Saturday omnibus was the best!
oh my god this still makes me laugh now brilliant
Brookside is in need of a remastering, i loved this soap??
Eddie Banks He's my tutor at College great guy!
what college?
Jimmy Cornhill best soap character in history
dunno about that but he does a really good deal on home insurance
Lol that was epic best scene in a soap opera ever brookie was the best 👍🔥
0:41 Rosie Banks brings Sutek's gift of death to Trevor Jordache 😂

Eddie is a good dugger

Lord Lucan!
That was so funny, I seem to remember someone asking if it was Roman. The answer was, what, in a bin bag! Eugh, Sinbad, air fresheners, oh, happy days
Delboylover1997 The two girls killed their dad Trevor, and hid him under the dirt, then Jimmy and Eddie dug up the dirt, looking for money or something valuable and they find the body.
Rip dean / jimmy
5 years later I'm back to comment, :)
I actually remember this! Lol
lolololol.
Bleedin' ell!
Let's go an' twock som caaahs eh?
I shat myself when I saw this on TV for the first time.
Clearly you didn't appreciate good telly then
This comedy is golden
Where did you get clips of Brookside from can i ask? did you record them on VHS or something?
the year before the Simpsons gang moved into no.9 the long months later that Eleanor & Louise shown up after half of the Simpsons got split up & moved somewhere else
wow, wish I was at the party!
Bit loud :(
That will be Trevor
How can I watch the whole storyline
Why was it so tedious?
I remember that :D

Gotta ✋ hand it to Eddie 😩😑
Wasn't this aired a couple of years after Trevor Jordache was killed? If so there shouldn't be any flesh only bone

I remember watching the killing and the digging up of the body, definitely traumatised 6 year old me at the time lol
Yes I spent years thinking all bodies at graveyards looked like this year's after death- completely intact! 😂😂
