    Liquid Latex... My hero!! Brilliant idea instead of the tedious painter tape work. They are all gorgeous!

    Hi, thank you so much, enjoyed the videos a lot!! I’ve noticed the resin you use is not runny. Once you mix the pigment do you leave the resin for a while and then pour ? Or is it the brand of resin your using. I have an issue because my resin is not think, because it is runny the design outcome gets bad 😔

      @SummerGirlDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thank you! I used a low viscosity resin, I usually just wait around 10 minutes to minimize air bubbles. It might be due to the pigments or quantity of pigments used

      Same with my coasters 🙁 I use the same resin but „cheap“ mica powder.. might switch maybe… 🤨

      My favorite is Honey Resin by Dipon! I highly recommend Dipon (located in EU), you can save 10% with my code ‘summergirl’. If you’re located in the U.S, I can highly recommend Craft Resin, you can save 5% with my link: craftresin-us.refr.cc/summergirlcroatia

      @@SummerGirlDesignsI was about to ask the same question. Loving the Expoxyplast resin I have from Dipon but find its runny for doming.
      The coasters are georgous!

    I tried to make similar coasters off of your videos and suggested links! I ended up poking around in the coaster too much lol like I should have just poured and let it be. My question for you is, will the “craftin white” have the same effect? I notice you use a different white than the one you have linked. Does it have a similar result?

    • @SummerGirlDesigns
      @SummerGirlDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve certainly done that before! I learned the hard way it’s usually best to let resin do its thing 😅 Yes, ‘Just Resin’ isn’t available on Amazon unfortunately, Castin Craft is a great substitute, just make sure to use enough pigment!

    Thank you for the video! Do you have to do a top coat? And what is the reasoning for liquid latex?

    • @SummerGirlDesigns
      @SummerGirlDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Not entirely necessary, I do it for an extra protective layer and to dome the coasters and give them a nicer look. I use the latex to protect the back side of the coasters from drips while I’m doing a top coat. For more details you can watch this video How to Get a Perfect Resin Top Coat

  • @marielanier9712

    I’m not understanding what the latex does for the coasters. It looks like you’re putting it on and then removing it?

      @@SummerGirlDesigns Do you know if you can do the same on the back of a cutting board when you resin it? Instead of using tape to protect the back? I find when I use tape I still get rough edges and drips that make the tape hard to come off. With the latex peel off of wood?

    slms how are u? I want to do resin in wedding favors, I haven't done resin crafts as yet, but by looking at your tutorials I know I will be able to do it, the problem is I have asthma, n I have read that it's no good for asthma patients, I am so sorry to trouble u, but I need to know please what type of resin u using, are there lots of fumes n does it effect our breathing, I know the question I am asking has nothing to do with your most amazing tutorials, please if u know anything let me know, Allah will reward u Abundantly Aameen Suma Aameen

      Hi, I use resin by Dipon (located in EU), either the JewelCast or CoasterCast. You can use my code ‘summergirl’ to save 10% kandydip.de/ecom/prestashop/221-epoxidharz-dipon
      If you’re located in the US, I’ve used and can recommend Craft Resin: amzn.to/3zKJGM9
      It’s important while working with resin to have the proper safety gear. Make sure you’re working in a well ventilated area, have a full face mask, and nitrile gloves (these are always linked in the description of my videos). As long as you follow the proper safety procedures, it is safe to work with. Though because you have asthma, consider talking about it with a doctor as well. All the best

    For some reason I can NEVER achieve this effect. I've tried so many times. I wonder if it's because I usually use medium viscosity resin.

    • @SummerGirlDesigns
      @SummerGirlDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wasn’t expecting to achieve this effect but it has to do with the type of pigments and resin used. I used a low viscosity resin so that might do the trick!
