I hope you know that the ripping the chest part is just a metaphor of showing devotion 😅 as Ramayan was written in a poetic form with a lot of metaphors and personification. Most people have been treating it literally word to word while depicting the story. Just like when they call Raavan as Dashasan/Dasmukh (Ten-Headed), it simply means he had the wisdom, strength and qualities of 10 people and not literally having 10 heads :)
