I am a huge fan of Lochby, not only for the incredible quality of their products, but also because of the people behind the brand. The tool roll holds all my drawing/painting supplies.

I think they really are a lovely bunch. I actually got an email half an hour after this video went live, purely to say "Thanks" for the review. I've never had that from any other company!

I love your reviews of notebooks and pens, Michael, even when you’re largely one-handed. Praying for healing so you can return to being a two-fisted writer.

Thanks so much for the support, Mark - returning as rapidly as possible now, and with luck I'll not be a ham-fisted writer!

Hi, I wish you a speedy recovery, and hope to see you back out adventuring and sketching soon.
I absolutely love the Lochby notebook covers and other gear, however, to get it delivered it's so so expensive to get over to Australia, if Lochby squished the postage charges I would be ordering multiple goodies.

Thank you so much for the good wishes! I can't disagree with you on the price of postage, but it's a bit difficult for suppliers to absorb the extortionate prices the air transport companies are charging now. I know from grim experience that sending one of my books to the US (or Australia) costs more than the book itself! Let's just hope market economics start to get back into things and the charges begin to come down again.

I've got Lochby's Venture Pouch, a couple of Quattro pen cases, a field journal, and a pocket journal. It's all good stuff, like what you would imagine rode in the saddlebags on T.E. Lawrence's Brough Superior.
Indiana Jones? Pfft! I think Lochby gear is the real deal.

I can't disagree with you there, Johnny - I'm hugely impressed with this journal - and shortly loading the review of the Venture Pouch, too.

@@writerlywitterings The latest news from Lochby is the Bond brand is returning. The Bond Attache 13 looks perfect for carrying writing supplies.

Back in 2011 when I smashed my Humerus and shoulder I ended up having my left arm in a sling for 10 weeks and yes it' a right pain , they did repair the joint with 9 screws but had to fix my humerus to the outside of the shoulder bonel leaving me with a left arm 15" shorter than my right arm and only 5 deg of proximal rotation for life, so yes Mike I know how much you are struggling, Thankfully I was right handed, Mike West Bromwich

Mike, I have nothing at all like your suffering, mate! My arm is almost back to normal already. You take care!

I have had both for sometime. You will enjoy both. Mine was stiff to open with the clip at first, but gets freer aft a week or so. Mine has a thick notebook and a cahier. It has been to Norfolk, Wales and the Pyrenees. It looks exactly the same as I bought it 2 years ago. It's with me in the garden now. It's my taking kit for reading etc.

Thanks for the tips! I do think this is a brilliant piece of kit, and it's going to be with me everywhere I go in future. Thanks for the comments, as always!

You should! Both are brilliant, but I am very happy that the WH will be an indoor tool in the future, and this will be the outdoor type. It's the difference between a Barbour for shooting and a comfy jacket for dinner!

Beautiful journal cover. Waxed cotton is very interesting. I have never heard of it.
When I bring a journal for travelling, it is just the journal that I keep stored in my suitcase. Not very interesting but practical for me. The journals fit in my pants pocket. It is a small journal but it is only for one trip as I bring a new one for every trip.
Was this episode filmed before the one just released? You did not have your arm in a sling in that one.

    • @writerlywitterings
      @writerlywitterings  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

Yes, different sizes and types for different jobs. I have several smaller styles too, including all the way down to Field Notes sizes, but this is more for general use when out and about in London or on other business trips. For me, it's perfect.
Arm - ah, well, I tend not to use the sling all the time, and the last video was recorded before this, but I was resting my arm with this one - it was getting tired by the time I recorded after a morning of walking around without the sling! Getting much better daily, I am glad to say. I can't hold a dog lead with it, or bend the arm too much, but got all function back in the hand already.

The Vietnamese people are hardly free, politically. But its robust capitalist society takes the edge off discontent.

True enough, but they're much more free than the appalling treatment of the Uighurs and Christians in China.
