  • The first episode of my South Africa travel series, my wife & I head to the Sabi Sands Reserve near Kruger National Park with a stopover in Dubai along the way.
We stayed at the Arathusa Lodge in Sabi Sands and it was everything you could want in a safari experience:

The hotel that we stayed at in Dubai was the Shangri-La Dubai and the views were amazing from the 42nd floor terrace:

Loved your video!!!! Im going to stay in arathusa on april 2024 with my wife, first safari ever, i am debating between what lenses to bring, what woukd you say were your favorite focal lenght for sabi sands? I was thinking sony 200-600 on one body and a 70-200 on another one.

I brought a 16-35 and a 100-400 with one camera body with me to South Africa, as I like to travel light if I can. I really like 100-400 for safari photography...there will be times where the animals get really close to the vehicle. If I were going to bring two camera bodies and focus mainly on photography, I would probably bring a 24-70 and a 100-400. But, you can't go wrong with the 70-200/200-600 combo. There will be a lot of times where 600 will be nice. Enjoy your trip! This was our favorite vacation ever.
