I love how these were the gold standard of roller coaster designs. Like specifically with the wooden coaster it was just circles with one big dip or hill. Furthermore the steal coasters seemed completely insane and like the best rides in the world. It’s actually really cool to have this video to compare with modern roller coasters.
I've seen hundreds of RCT3 videos on youtube, and I think this was one of the first ones I saw. I have appreciated this video for it's master craftmanship, and honestly, it's lack of custom scenery. Now, after seeing it for the hundredth time, it is officially in my favorites-although what took me so long I can't say. Brilliant!
i watched this like 9 years ago and i just came back on my recommended videos and all i could think about was the ride not being able to make it back to the station
By going into the Scenario Editor, open Scenary (tree & fence), open Entrances (pair of red pillars), select and entrance, right click on the existing one and the paths, do your terraining, and replace the Entrance.
I can't believe that this was made in 2007 and the creator, plus many other people, are still commenting frequently. Especially on a game like RCT3 which isn't very popular. It's crazy what an amazing creation + the internet can do. Great job man and keep up the good work.
Edward! Can't believe your still around this channel! I remember the first time I saw this video when I was 10. You made me love Rct3 and Roller Coasters forever. :D
By completing all the scenarios before this one! Here are some wise words I picked up somewhere: Don't ask for it. Do it yourself. Do that and you'll succeed.
Water came with the park. You will have to ask Frontier how they managed to use the included Scenario Editor to make such a difficult challange with just a small piece of land, moving the entrance, filling water, digging mountains, and all that crap.
Fraps is only a last resort. This thing already has an in-game recorder. Never mind it freezing every second. That is perfectly normal. What may not be normal is that you get a blank result and therefore may have to switch to fullscreen, downgrade your DirectX, or make your Media Player/Editor compatible with all known and unknown formats.
It's good in its own little way. It is good for park making, and one can have some fun with the coasters. Though it is hard to know what to get because there is alot of pros and cons. It can all depend on what your interests are and what you want.
I was referring to the fact that all 3 RCT games had only 1 entrance to every park. Easier to control the flow of your guests, sure, but not as convenient when your park's expanded all the way to the other end and people take all day to get to your newer rides. I would have thought that the dev's would have changed it by RCT3, that was all.
There is this icon that has this spoon, I think, with a striped line. One is included talked about in the tutorial, the other one sets the coaster's speed.
Your editing is awesome and very smooth. Not really my type of park, but I loved the experience simply because the video was so pleasant to watch. Thank you :-)
Hm? Oh that. Did that in post. However, I made some Custom Line TVs that are actually billboards so you can put up whatever (within the limitations of RCT3). You can find them at RCT Revalutions.
There was a very nice tutorial somewhere online about good ways to lower the intensity rating on coasters, and another one on the same site about raising the excitement rating. I don't remember where I found it, though, and it was for RCT 1 and 2, but the concepts are pretty much the same.
Have a look at the details, now subtract quite a few months to a year. (yeah, hardly remember myself. A little vague on when I create, when I record, and when I display.)
By raising land and pouring water on the land side. Of course, need to remove things like Paths and Entrances in order for the water to fill. Otherwise it is considered "blocked".
By making it more exciting and less rough. What, or more like, when is the most exciting part? The waiting as you go up the hill? Going over the edge? Hanging on the edge (cliffhanger)? And is there any point during the ride you lose excitement and just end up getting sick? Like far too fast, too many neck-breaking turns, not enough air time, too calm, etc. Or maybe one just has to have the nack for these things. I was somewhat terrified of coasters when I made these, so I never really rode any.
It is simple! Guests just materialise at the entrance out of thin air! But put some imagination to it and there may be a passing pontoon plane flying by. As for the camera view name, well.... This has been asked soooooooooooooo many times that you don't have to look far in the comments to find an answer.
Yeah, I know I'm a bit of a lazy ass. But did you have to point out the obvious? This is my first whole scenario I recorded so of course it is crap! Rule of Submissions/showcases: The first is always crap.
I'm sorry, but ever since TH-cam removed 3 of my Oxygene Art vids (Copyright Infringements) I just don't want to put any more vids onto TH-cam. No more! I'm planning an announcement video sometime, which will explain all details and what I'm gonna do.
You know, the photo sections are a bit of a mystery for myself as well. Actually, the custom families/group photos are automatically taken and saved for me. I found it annoying so I turned it all off. As for the flashes, well... READ THE COMMENTS! THIS IS A VIDEO cause so many people are like, how do you get cameras to flash, how do you get the warning lights, how did you make the text appear on screen, basically all I really did was edit the videos.
G forces are forces that act on your body when your on a roller coaster. 1 G is the same as Earth's normal gravity. You experience higher G's when a roller coaster is at the bottom of the hill cause you get pushed down into your seat
Just as you enter the game, hit TOOLS and Scenario Editor. There are ALL those options on making Bigger Available Space, Background, and Ownership. As for smooth mountains, islands, terrain in general, play around with the terrain tools. There is more than just Block Landscaping. ;)
This was one of the inspirations for my venture into RCT3 'Tubing. Maybe you'd let me share with your viewers...? .RCT3 - Making a Custom Sandbox - Part 1 - Entrance
One can no longer put individual colors on individual cars or trains. But one can put more than one color on the track by clicking on the paint buckets as you build.
Yeah, was a little silly on space conservation. Maybe if RCT3 had all combination of pieces, maybe either a gradual launch up, or twisty lift hill, or something. Maybe I shall experiment in NL and see what I get. or redo this one for another future video.
Yeah, I guess there is an annoyance in my sarcasm. Alot of what they ask is either already in the manual, or tutorials, or in one of my videos. I guess I get so many repeated questions that I get tired of the monotonous answeres and try to have a little fun (and match the odd ways they ask the questions). But yeah, sometimes it goes a little overboard. Thanks for mentioning this, and I'll try to get better, but no promises.
Not too big a problem if you can use what you have. If you feel that you can't make it work, then I guess you'll have to go out, get some custom stuff, or even make that. All this kind of information is out there.
Took me about a day. And sadly, there are no water slides before the Soaked Expansion. Unless you are talking about flumes. Didn't really think about it at the time, plus I don't think there was enough space off the island to make a long enough stretch.
Because Frontier didn't think that far. They only thought "Hey, lets make it nice and simple, sell it for a good price, then they come back with all kinds of complaints, and then we release expansions with half the requests for another good price. Then when the request box has gotten to a good bulge we make RCT4 with other set of expansions for good prices. That way we get in a good amount of money!" Yeah, you know what I say? Never get greedy.
Have you tried the arrows on the little pannel on the bottom left? There should be Turn Left, Straight, Tunr Right, Steep Slope, Normal Slope, and Level.
The firs few drops on the wooden rollercoaster going back and forth reminded me of the track layout of the Thunderbolt from Kennywood in Pittsburgh, PA. No connection?
Yeah, the manual is a little unclear about that. Can't remember what the Tutorials say. But I think what you say will work if the entrance wasn't level with the water. Raise land around entrance as well and then it should work (or move the entrance all together).
I was watching this when I was a kid... Crazy how time flies by...
Jesus, this video is 7 years old!!! Then I was 10 years old and I can remember that I have watched this video! :) Beautiful memories...
me too
I was 7 When I watched in 2009
Ditto.
Now it's 12 years old... 😅
lol
Jheeeez the nostalgia, used to watch this video so many times a few years ago
I love how these were the gold standard of roller coaster designs. Like specifically with the wooden coaster it was just circles with one big dip or hill. Furthermore the steal coasters seemed completely insane and like the best rides in the world. It’s actually really cool to have this video to compare with modern roller coasters.
I always say to myself "Self, let's make an awesome park!" And then I make a wooden shoot across the park
Brilliant!
4:04 there is a mistake. The seconds max speed along the top should be mph
No, it's supposed to be meters per second
I keep coming back to this in 2021…idk why but im not complaining.
Bro this is my childhood. The nostalgia hits hard
This video is 13 years old now
i watched this like 9 years ago and i just came back on my recommended videos and all i could think about was the ride not being able to make it back to the station
I did *not* expect to hear Jets N Guns music in this 13 year old RCT3 video
needless to say, it was a pleasant surprise :)
that wooden coaster was amazing. seriously you are one of the best people in RCT3
This would be cool recreated in Planet Coaster
By going into the Scenario Editor, open Scenary (tree & fence), open Entrances (pair of red pillars), select and entrance, right click on the existing one and the paths, do your terraining, and replace the Entrance.

watching videos from parks is much more fun than build parks at own
Edward! Can't believe your still around this channel! I remember the first time I saw this video when I was 10. You made me love Rct3 and Roller Coasters forever. :D

That's one of the best Wooden Coaster I have ever seen. Nice Job.
That park is absolutely amazing.. I keep watching it over and over again XD
tail end of 2021 and i still remember watching this video on my ipod 2
Water came with the park. You will have to ask Frontier how they managed to use the included Scenario Editor to make such a difficult challange with just a small piece of land, moving the entrance, filling water, digging mountains, and all that crap.
Very very nice the roller coasters were well done and i loved the park its self and the music
My favourite rollercoaster here is the LIM launched one!
@Edward256 It's not about the cables, only the queue. The ones that go in times: 2:57, 7:15.
I do the sound afterwards. Got a full 5 part tutorial for that. And the music is right there in the RCT3 folder, under music.
@Edward256 the camera view on the coasters and rides is called Coaster Cam
I used the ingame recorder. Keycombo can be found in the options.
It's good in its own little way. It is good for park making, and one can have some fun with the coasters.
Though it is hard to know what to get because there is alot of pros and cons. It can all depend on what your interests are and what you want.

Free roam is under Options -> Camera -> Control Mode. Also known as Freelook.
When it feels like you are flying off the seat. Occurs usually over hill crests.
I recorded it with the in-game recorder, and I added the background music using a video editor like WMA, I mean, WMV, I mean........
There is this icon that has this spoon, I think, with a striped line. One is included talked about in the tutorial, the other one sets the coaster's speed.
I use the in-game recorder. Even though the recording "lags", the results are as smooth as anything!
Mechanics are those who fix things. Blue overall, yellow helmet, wrench in hand.
Your editing is awesome and very smooth. Not really my type of park, but I loved the experience simply because the video was so pleasant to watch. Thank you :-)

Imagine if you could RMC the Phoenix Twister.
It was in plain sight in the RCT3 folder. Here's a hint: The sub-folder is called Music. ;)
this is totally awesome! so realistic! great rides too and they could actually exist without being too dangeous!
G forces are forces that act on your body when your on a roller coaster. 1 G is the same as Earth's normal gravity. You experience higher G's when a roller coaster is at the bottom of the hill cause you get pushed down into your seat

I suppose you can do such. Fly-bys, following the track, zip through queue lines, etc.
lol the roll back bit was funny...the giga paradise on here is much better than the other one!
This was one of the inspirations for my venture into RCT3 'Tubing. Maybe you'd let me share with your viewers...?
.RCT3 - Making a Custom Sandbox - Part 1 - Entrance
I think this video is popular enough as it is. Just count the number of comments on this video compared to my other videos.
One can no longer put individual colors on individual cars or trains. But one can put more than one color on the track by clicking on the paint buckets as you build.
Simply click the scenary button, then a button with 2 red poles, and choose your entrance.
Yeah, was a little silly on space conservation. Maybe if RCT3 had all combination of pieces, maybe either a gradual launch up, or twisty lift hill, or something. Maybe I shall experiment in NL and see what I get. or redo this one for another future video.
i bought the set too.
it's not a fake!
This is my favourite game on the computer.
I love building roller coasters :D
Nice work on getting the giga back in the station. Well planned!
Yeah, I guess there is an annoyance in my sarcasm. Alot of what they ask is either already in the manual, or tutorials, or in one of my videos. Wooden Coaster 1-such a thrilling name!
Just messing with you. Awesome creations. You make great use of the landscape.
what a park! I orginally got this game for my daughter, but I play it more then her now
I built this rollercoaster:
Ride time: 3:58
Total air time: 0:40
35 drops
Highest drop: 95m
Top speed: 168 km/h
Not too big a problem if you can use what you have. If you feel that you can't make it work, then I guess you'll have to go out, get some custom stuff, or even make that. All this kind of information is out there.
Congrats on 5 years on your most viewed video! :D
I don't know what to say...... Anyway, this paradise park is actually the first RCT3 park I watched. Good nausea rating, I mean, jod... Err, job. :D
I sit... I stare... I fall asleep... I wake up... I create.
Just build, build, build, and before you know it, something is made.
Themed rides... Changing car types, add ride events, build some stuff around the rides... maybe...
You're a lot better at steel coasters than wooden :P
Awesome park! 5/5
Took me about a day. And sadly, there are no water slides before the Soaked Expansion. Unless you are talking about flumes. Didn't really think about it at the time, plus I don't think there was enough space off the island to make a long enough stretch.
Very cool Park I ENJOYED so much, congratulations my friend
Expertly done camera work.
Because Frontier didn't think that far. They only thought "Hey, lets make it nice and simple, sell it for a good price, then they come back with all kinds of complaints, and then we release expansions with half the requests for another good price. Have you tried the arrows on the little pannel on the bottom left? There should be Turn Left, Straight, Tunr Right, Steep Slope, Normal Slope, and Level.
I used the In-Game Recorder to record it, and Ulead Video Studio 9 to edit it.
It doesn't go under water at all. Are you thinking of the splash section in the Specials List to the right of the building panel?
You can do this in the scenario editor. Make sure your manual is handy.
Strangle Frontier for not putting flash into the cameras. I added the flashes in post.
Dude freaky awesome. the wooden coaster is sweet!!!
With the in-game recorder. Look for the option "Take Video".
Sorry, no parks for download as of yet. Please wait the following indefinate years. :p
What is the best type of rollercoaster tycoon u shuld get if you want big and fun rolercoasters with a few water rides? Please answer
I've been over this again and again and again and again and again and again and again....
first one is great, sencond one is great, third one ok, the fourth one is great. i like how you got the roll back thing on it. love it!
By lowering the land on the edges or raising the middle and filling with water.
I mean the option "Take a Video", where it's default Key Combo is Ctrl+Shift+F11.
Best park Ive ever seen !
The firs few drops on the wooden rollercoaster going back and forth reminded me of the track layout of the Thunderbolt from Kennywood in Pittsburgh, PA. No connection?
Can only be done in Scenario Editor. Find icon with 2 red poles.
I love this park!! and you've inspired me to make something like it
Iffy on that one. The landscape is by Frontier, so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to give that out just like that.
i love playing this game everytime i come back from a park :D
The folder where I put the scenario appears to be on the mountain, as you said.
Yeah, the manual is a little unclear about that. Can't remember what the Tutorials say. But I think what you say will work if the entrance wasn't level with the water. Raise land around entrance as well and then it should work (or move the entrance all together).
Sorry, I don't have Ireland themes stuff. Check with Custom Scenary Objects forums.
Both, because one will not work without the other.
Better yet, get all three, or a package deal that includes everything.
@brazzr
That's good! I live in Australia too but I bought it while I was over there on holidays.
