Your color combos are so stunning. You have such a gift of making elevated wardrobe basics! And thank you for sharing pics and history of your island. The water color is beautiful!

Great episode Beth. I am a twin born in 1967 and my parents had no idea my Mom was having twins. Me and my sister were just over 5 pounds each. So it was probably a surprise for your great grandmother as well. Have fun at Rienbeck. 🥰🇨🇦Sharon.
Thank you so much for sharing with us! I’m enjoying your podcasts very much. I’d love to see you relax a bit more and for you to remember that you’re with people who share the same interests. Much love from me in Marysville, Victoria, Australia xOXo❤

Kisco for the Road to Rhinebeck event on Thursday. Rachelle From Moondrake will be hosting a trunk show and all of her yarn bases and colors will be on hand for squishing. A number of local and international podcasters are stopping by as well. It's going to be a fun day with lots of yarn love!

Loved the opening stories about your family. Keep the stories coming. Loved your new sweater, especially the pink one. How about a twirl around so we can see the whole thing. Greetings from Ottawa, Canada
I really enjoyed your first podcast and this one is no different. I really enjoyed listening to your family history and love hearing about Bermuda. I also just started a little TH-cam channel after I retired this year after working as a social worker for 31 years. It’s so fun and so nice to share what we love to do with such beautiful knitting community isn’t? I love your Sonci sweater and love that you give special names to your patterns. I also love seeing the beach ( even when it’s windy and stormy) and it really reminds me of my home country - Brazil. I lived by the ocean until I was 29 years old and always loved the sea. Thank you for another great episode 💖
Wonderful! Thank you! I've just subscribed to your podcast and look forward to watching. Wow Brazil - very high on my bucket list of places to visit. Thank you again!
Thank you for the very interesting history of your family. I didn't think I would be the only person interested to know how you arrived to live in Bermuda! I see a Soncy in my future. I appreciate the elements you mentioned; funnel neck (which sits beautifully! ), 3/4 length sleeves, and the A-Line shape. That's my trifecta!
I has just finished watching episode one, and was hong the next would be soon….and there you were! How delightful. I am 76 y/o, and remember Jackie well….your new sweater has her neckline. I think i may just make that. And in that lavender with a mustard trim; very nice. Love the podcast….and am enjoying the tidbits about Bermuda. I lived in Hawaii in the early 70’s. It was quite exotic then. Hello from Wisconisn, USA. Kathleen
Thanks for another great podcast Beth! Loved hearing about your ancestry and how you arrived on Bermuda. Loved the video clips of the hurricane! WOW, the force of mother nature. Your pink sweater is gorgeous as well as the sweater on the mannequin. Have a wonderful time at Rhinebeck.
G’day Beth, another really fun to watch episode NO 2 and hopefully more to come 🍀 I found your family & Bermuda history really interesting and look forward to more interspersed in coming episodes. Your conversation about the hurricane reminded me of my 10 years living in Darwin, Northern Territory 🇦🇺 that time of the year Oct - May can be so hot & humid…. But oh when the long awaited rains come and yes sometimes cyclones there’s such relief and a huge sense of excitement. WOW your patterns are just so beautiful, really looking towards seeing the cabled one out for purchase. Have good month looking forward to next episode, take care 🌷🇦🇺
Thank you! Yes I'd imagine it would be quite a similar experience to life in Darwin. A good friend of mine here is from Darwin and she assimilated into Bermudian life VERY easily :) That said, I think she'd do very well anywhere she were to live.
Really enjoyed your podcast. You knitting is beautiful! Thank you for including your background on how your ancestors came to live in Bermuda. I don't know a lot of history about Bermuda and find that sort of thing very interesting. Hope the hurricanes are kind to you!
I have never been to Bermuda. But I will be taking a cruise there next May. I can’t wait. I am glad you shared some history so I will have some knowledge when I get there. Thanks so much. Your designs are beautiful.
Hi Beth! I so very much enjoy your podcasts. I especially enjoyed the family history that you wove into this episode. I was thrilled to learn you grew up in Toronto. I am from Goderich, ON, about 3 hours south west of Toronto. Thank you for your video and look forward to the next one! 😊 ps. I adore your glasses!
Wonderful! Oh yes Goderich on Lake Huron! Yes I grew up in TO and spent a lot of my summers and weekends enjoying excursions out of the city. Thanks re glasses - they are from Caddis a brand I really love.
I can't believe that I just discovered your podcast after my recent, spontaneous long weekend in Bermuda! We loved our visit to Hamilton and St. Georges and plan to come back. What a unique and interesting place to call home. I am really enjoying your podcast so I hope you keep it up!
Once again you knocked it out of the park. I loved everything you talked about. So interesting about your family history. I also enjoyed the walk you took with your dog(I’m sorry I can’t remember it’s name). When I walk my dog she is by my side. Well seeing the narrow path you walk along it has to be follow the leader. Thank you for the great episode and have fun at Rhineback.
Hello Beth; I’m loving your videos; a mix of knitting and Family History. This will B my 1st Rhinebeck trip; going on the String Thing Studio Bus-Felicia. We R scheduled to go 2 everything. I’m ssso excited! If I C U I will DEFINITELY say hello 👋🏾
Hi Beth.. So happy to see that your posting ! Love the Soncy, it looks fabulous. Love the Bermuda stories & family updates! Looking forward to next month! I hope to make it to a fiber festival sometime! 😊 ps.. took my Vesy Street vest on my Europe trip & you mentioned the Suri popover too❤ looking forward to get all my sweaters out! ❤take care cyndy
Thanks Cyndy! Your European trip looked FABULOUS!!! Glad you got to wear the Vesy Street vest, I'm looking forward to pulling mine out soon too. Thanks again & take care. Yes would love to meet in person, one day!
I must be getting old Beth, because I'm having trouble hearing your soft lower tones.. I do love hearing our stories, they're so often unexpected and delightful! So please continue. The sconcy is pretty, and I love the collar. The mix of yarns is an adventure in itself! Enjoy Rhinebeck and hope to hear all about it in your next video.
Hi Beth! Loved the podcast, and the stories about your family, and some of the Bermudian history, are really interesting - enjoyed learning about Soncy and also your stroll along the shore paths was a pleasure to join in! Have fun at Rhinebeck and look forward to the test call! Off to check out your new Soncy sweater (loved your mauve and chartreuse version). Also I do like your first version of the potential fade the the Westknits MKAL, with the dark green skein - it picks up the paler green in the lightest pink/green tonal skein you showed... nice. Looking forward to the next podcast. Cheers, Judith 💚
Hi Beth! love the podcast and the stories are lovely! Thanks. love this Soncy Sweater! Hoping to see you at the festivals this year. Unfortunately, I missed the early Cakepalozza window, I have a late ticket but maybe W&F, Take it slow and enjoy! PS - There is a nice quiet spot behind the farm museum at S&W - I go there when I need a break. Safe travels - Jenn
Thank you for sharing the story of your families history. I was wondering how you got to Bermuda. Didn't dawn on me that you were actually from there. Funny. Loved the pictures you shared also. Really beautiful sweaters. I see a couple of those
I live on a warm coast. Gobsmacked that I didn’t think of 3/4 sleeves. And the contrast color on the inside edges. So modern and yet so wonderfully classic. Can’t wait to hear more historical notes. Thanks.
So lovely Beth. That walk at the end was fun. The colour of the water is magical. We live at the beach and Mother Nature is so mesmerizing to witness. We currently have whales and dolphins and some days the show is wonderful. Enjoy Rhinebeck and all the friends and activities. Thanks for sharing, Karen 🥰🇦🇺
Thank you for another interesting podcast. Love your designs and about to start on thr Boxy Blue Raglan. Have fun at Rhinebeck. But perhaps you should come over for the Bendigo wool show here in Victoria, Australia. It is the largest show of its kind in the world. Best wishes, Alex
Thank you for sharing your knitting with us. I absolutely loved seeing the footage of the island and the ocean. Your family history is very interesting. Such a lovely podcast. 😊
Hello from Nova Scotia 😊. Born on an island off Cape Breton. The stories are great, it’s important to remember those stories and I love hearing them. Hurricane Lee created a good deal of chaos in Nova Scotia, now we are bracing ourselves for another hurricane this weekend.
Oh wow, take care this weekend. We have one going to our east on Friday - I'm guessing this is what you'll get over the weekend. Lets hope its nothing big... I LOVE Cape Breton - what a gorgeous place especially this time of year.
How fun to see the “rock”, hear about the hurricane and finding out how you got to Bermuda! Love your color selections. Thanks for sharing so much of your life with us! Look forward to the next episode!
I am so interested in your personalized Bermuda history/stories. The podcast is interesting, informative, educational and entertaining. Keep em coming!!
I am in love with Soncy! Please keep sharing the history of your family, Bermuda and whatever you fancy. History is my cup of tea. Thank you for sharing all that you have😁
Excellent and gorgeous patterns! You’re story about your grandpa just made me stop and smile. My grandpa’s story was very similar to yours, except he was taken out of school by his parents at the age of twelve because the teachers told them he was so clever. My great-grandparents said, “Great, he's done,” and sent him to get a job and help the household. He could do math the same way- just running his finger down the page and adding everything up. People joked that he was faster than a calculator.
I also have a Luna who takes her job of protecting me and the property from perceived threat quite seriously. Thank you for sharing your stories and designs. Love Bermuda, so nice to revisit memories of visiting there.
Thank you Beth, Soncy is a beautiful pullover I am looking forward to knit it. The history behind the name it’s so interesting. Keep telling us some of the history, video and photos of your wonderful island.
Really enjoying your channel… both the knits and the stories. Love the Soncy pullover. It is so Jacquie O, and Audrey Hepburn too I feel. Beautiful neckline. I’m off to purchase the pattern. By the way, my name is Hastings and I live in Hamilton, Scotland! 😅
Love your podcasts! It's fun to see sights in Bermuda along with knitting! I love to knit and I love nature. Oh And I'll be making on the souncy sweater too. Excited about the collar!
LOL As soon as you said MacDonald & Pictou NS my brain switched from knitting to genealogy and whether we’re distant cousins. That’s a conversation for some other day! I love today’s sweater and it’s lovely inspiration to keep working on learning to knit. Took me an hour and a half to get 30 perfectly matched stitches cast on. Did a lot of putting them on, taking them off, putting them back on while correcting mistakes. The past two days I’ve made everyone who came in my hospital room look at them😃 Tomorrow my goal is 20 rows of the knit stitch…hopefully without a lot of tearing things back out! After that it will be 20 of purl, etc as I learn the basic stitches. I love that today’s sweater is simple stitches…and then the twist version adds a challenge without being super complicated. Looking forward to more of your chats and designs to learn with.
Oh that's funny! Small world! My maternal side of the family are the Fergusons from Pictou. Do you know any of them? Ironically my 1st year university room mate was Allison MacDonald from Pictou - you're probably related to her! Crazy small world!!! Good luck with learning to knit. Its a wonderful skill with endless options. Take care and hope all is well. Thanks
Love the history woven into the podcast! What a great episode! Your sweater made me think of Audrey Hepburn….not sure which movie….with the same neckline.
I loved hearing the history of your family. You really make your podcast interesting with all the little fabulous facts that you include in your presentation.
How I love this! In a future video can you tell us how you first learned to knit? I'd also love to hear your thoughts on color, mixing colors, etc. Any thoughts at all!
Hello from Reunion Island which definitely seems to share some points with Bermuda, such as landscapes ,flora and hurricane events! Your Soncy pattern is great, I'm really fond of your color combinations. Waiting forward next episode!
That was very interesting podcast am in a tiny fishing village east Scotland called Eyemouth for few days at our holiday home only hour from edinburgh where I stay
You’ve done it now. Created a dilemma for me. To knit the boxy blue or the sconcy. We’ll since I just by chance bought magenta fuwa fuwa I cannot refuse the serendipity push towards sconcy. So enjoying you and your aesthetic. ❤
Thanks for sharing your stories and about Bermuda, it’s gorgeous and I have not been. I think I must come to see the beauty for a planned vacation~ what time of year would you recommend? Someday I also hope to get to NY Sheep and Wool festival……still working full time. I envy you in retirement!
You should! Bermuda is lovely. I'd avoid the summers (June through to the end of September), its just so hot and humid, hard to do too much of anything. Oct/Nov and April/May are the 2 best periods for flowers in bloom. I also love winter here - blustery and windy, a bit damp but very comfortable especially with a handknit sweater :)
Definitely enjoy your family and Bermuda stories. Have been in Bermuda off and on for the last 20 years, because my daughter has lived and worked there for over 20 years. Quite a few of the places you mention are familiar to me. But still trying to figure out exactly where Deep Deen is. Is it by any chance just past the aquarium going away from Flats village? If not, which street ending on Harrington Sound Rd is closest?
That is awesome! Yes Deepdene (and I was recently corrected on the spelling) is on Harrington Sound Road just after the turn from the Aquarium. Its the condo property now known as Manor House with the bridge over the road to the water side.
Thank you! Loved the video coverage - what a beautiful place to live. The Soncy has just been added to my knitting plans - really lovely design. I live in B.C. Canada but spend a fair bit of time in the Maritimes visiting our children in Sackville - did I hear you say you graduated from Mount A?
Good morning Beth! I knitted the Soncy pullover. I would like to send you a picture of this sweater that I knitted and that I love. Is there an email address that I use to send it to you ? Have a good day! Elise
Add me to the folks who enjoy your stories and look forward to learning more. Enjoy hearing about your designs and seeing your knitting. Great second video cast.
Awesome, thank you!
I’m sure I’m not the only one who enjoys the non knitting side stories! And the extra videos. It makes us fellow Canadians dream…. winter will be knocking on our door soon enough 😉

Oh I think your Grandpa and mine must have been kindred spirits. Amazing! Thanks so much for watching and leaving your lovely comment!
Luna looks in her element while out for the walk. Wonderful landscape! Enjoying your podcasts very much ❤️
Thank you! Luna does love a good walk :)
Enjoyed seeing a bit of your Warwick - ours doesn’t have the beaches, surf and coastline but it does have a cool castle! Keep knitting x
Oooh yes, I must visit your castle one day. Thank you!!! I sure love exploring the UK
I also have a Luna who takes her job of protecting me and the property from perceived threat quite seriously. Thank you for sharing your stories and designs. Love Bermuda, so nice to revisit memories of visiting there.
Thank you! And hello to your Luna!
Thank you Beth, Soncy is a beautiful pullover I am looking forward to knit it. The history behind the name it’s so interesting. Keep telling us some of the history, video and photos of your wonderful island.
Wonderful! Thank you!
Oh thank you! Wow, Hamilton Scotland - amazing! And last name Hastings, what a small world...
Love your podcasts! It's fun to see sights in Bermuda along with knitting! I love to knit and I love nature. Oh And I'll be making on the souncy sweater too. Excited about the collar!
Wonderful! Thank you!
I love your podcast, including your stories of Bermuda. It has always been on my bucket list if places to visit.
Thank you! I hope you make it here one day
LOL As soon as you said MacDonald & Pictou NS my brain switched from knitting to genealogy and whether we’re distant cousins.
Thanks
I enjoy your knitting, design process, stories, and Luna. Great episode!
Thank you!
Love the history woven into the podcast! What a great episode! Your sweater made me think of Audrey Hepburn….not sure which movie….with the same neckline.
Oh thank you! Love Audrey Hepburn and her iconic style. What a compliment!
I loved hearing the history of your family. You really make your podcast interesting with all the little fabulous facts that you include in your presentation.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! I wasn't sure if those stories would be of interest - so very pleased you enjoyed
How I love this! In a future video can you tell us how you first learned to knit? I'd also love to hear your thoughts on color, mixing colors, etc. Any thoughts at all!
Great idea! Thank you!
Hello from Reunion Island which definitely seems to share some points with Bermuda, such as landscapes ,flora and hurricane events! Your Soncy pattern is great, I'm really fond of your color combinations. Waiting forward next episode!
Thank you!
So much fun catching up with you Beth! The pressed flowers and your Soncy pullover look so great!!
Thanks so much Megha!
That was very interesting podcast am in a tiny fishing village east Scotland called Eyemouth for few days at our holiday home only hour from edinburgh where I stay
Very cool! Enjoy!
You’ve done it now. Created a dilemma for me. To knit the boxy blue or the sconcy. We’ll since I just by chance bought magenta fuwa fuwa I cannot refuse the serendipity push towards sconcy. So enjoying you and your aesthetic. ❤
Thank you! Happy knitting whatever you choose!!!
Loved the Sancy with the cable that you were wearing at Rhinebeck! I’m hoping you’ll add the info to the pattern.
I will! It's on my "to-do" list! Thank you!
Hello from Saskatoon Sask.
Hello!
So nice to catch your second podcast! Love the knotty, your designs are amazing but your stories are awesome.
Thank you so much!
Wonderful! Yes I went to MtA. Sackville is a great town, I'm sure your kids enjoy living there. Thank you so much for watching!
My dogs starting barking at the sound of Luna's barking. I could not persuade them that the barks were coming from the screen 😄😄😄😄
😀
Love the colors on your Soncy sweaters. Thank you for sharing some of your family history. :)
Thanks for watching!
