No,our situation should not determine our dependence on God. There are no big or small problems to God, our love will determine the amount of time we spend with God.
Douglas Arnold I wholeheartedly agree, in an ideal world our situation should never determine our dependence on God. However, as everyone knows we are not in an Ideal world. I grew up in a family where mental health problems were rife, my mum suffered from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and as a doctor once told me she probably had a narcissistic personality disorder too! I am the youngest of 3 children, when I was 6 my sister who is 2 years older than me, developed OCD too. Due to situations I had to deal with at home, by the time I was 14 I had developed a food phobia, and finally had a breakdown and was admitted to an adolescent psychiatric hospital.
Chronic anxiety was something I had from a very young age, for instance one of my earliest childhood memories is as far back as when I was in infants school. I know this because the infant school day always ended 1/2 hour earlier than the junior and secondary school. It must have been winter because I remember getting home, the house seemed dark and gloomy, my sisters weren’t home yet so I felt so alone and anxious I just started to cry. However, this was not an isolated issue, for the following few days the same thing happened so finally my mum got cross with me and asked me why I’d been crying every day, I remember telling her that I had a headache. I suppose I just couldn’t vocalise my feelings! My point is that these problems have been part of my life for the past 50+: years, and I have been diagnosed with chronic anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder. So, situations that some people wouldn’t see as a problem become distorted in my mind, yes people may say that I don’t have enough faith but my prayer is that I can get better in placing my fears into the hands of God in Christ Jesus name and in doing so, I will start to spend more time with Him.
I do hope you have learned something from my personal experiences, because I kinda thought that your comment seemed to lack insight into the situations of person or people you don’t know, who in my case had a troubled start in life, or it could also have been someone who was a new believer! Thanks for taking the time to read this and Happy Christmas!

Despite of my hardship in life. I’m a single mom of 3 boys. I always hang on to God’s promises. I have lived in abroad for 31 years away from my family, parents, sisters and relatives and I literally went home only 3 times, I didn’t even went home when my daddy went home to Jesus and witness his last breath because of financial problem but I know deep in my heart that God loves me and I never and will never give up on HIM and I do believe HE loves me unconditionally.

If you are watching more than 3 hours of media/videogame/movies a day, eventually your frontal lobe, the part of your brain responsible for spiritual matters, that part of your mind becomes dulled from lack of use. We then start living in auto-pilot, the act of simply going through the motions but feeling little emotion.
The only way to brake free from the prison of feeling nothing is cutting off the cellphone use, social media, constant phone checking, video games, music always blasting, radio always on in the back ground, binge watching shows and movies.
Media is finally recognised as a real addiction, it causes real chemical changes in the brain that damage/paralyze Neuro pathways.
The good news is, it is reversible. It's called neuroplasticity! When we behold the Lord and His word we become changed by Him rather than the world.
