sometimes ocd isnt just cleaning and making sure stuff is aligned and clean sometimes it can be closing a drawer 50 times until it felt right or locking a door 100 times until it felt right
Exactly it can also be when your brain tells you to do all these thing and you feel pressured to do it or something terrible will happen Example: it could be if you don't turn the light switch on and off 5 times but it has to be an even number so 6 times then your family will die, you will get sick you will die etc. As you feel so pressured to do all this you can also get anxiety. People who have PTSD, depression, anxiety, or stress related mental conditions try to get rid of their thoughts by indulging in repetitive, almost ritualistic activities to keep them calm, and they show signs of tension when they are unable to follow that repetition, because it alters their state of mind. As a person with ocd, this is offensive to me. It is so much more than just being a clean freak. It affects my mental health. I have intrusive thoughts, have really bad anxiety. Everything could be going fine until I think of a bad possible situation and then it takes over me.

As someone who has been diagnosed with OCD my entire life, this is one of the best representation of this disorder I've seen. I can't stand people who don't think it's real or think people are faking it to get attention. I've dealt with these types of people my whole life and I'm glad to finally see some recognition to what it's actually like and not as some quirky personality trait.

I have ocd when I try to watch gametoons (fnf logic), I have to keep knowing what video next and might think I forget and I keep checking on it and again :\
I love that you made this because I have OCD and it really hits close to home, and not a lot of people know what it's like having OCD. You should make a video about pediatric autoimmune Neuro psychiatric disorder associated with streptological infections/ PANDAS. It's something a lot of people deal with and it is really hard on people.

I'm glad that this video focused on the anxiety side of OCD. Most people think it's just doing little rituals or wanting things to be organized. It's actually intense anxiety and the feeling that you absolutely HAVE to do a certain thing, sometimes over and over. It's exactly what it sounds like: obsessive and compulsive.
I agree! As someone with many different symptoms of OCD, it was refreshing to see a little more accurate representation other than just perfectionism (not saying that isn't an aspect as well, but it's all you ever see in media.)
I hope more people will take mental disorders like depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and many more seriously. They're real and people who have them have a really hard time, so be patient and give them all your support.
I feel for the maid, and the grandma could have been a bit more understanding, but if you have OCD being a maid/housekeeper might not be the job for you.
Yes so true I worked at different 5 star hotels on the Las Vegas strip. And never was able to finish all my assigned rooms cause I would take longer to clean. Cause I wanted everything to be very neat and clean and organized. And they want us to spend 30mins in these big rooms. That need way more then 30mins. But it's funny cause they always want the rooms to be perfect but u have to rush. I'm like not possible for Me!!!! It's hard dealing with OCD.. 😔
I have OCD too. And over lockdown, I’ve suffered from anxiety and just can’t help doing these twitches, like jerking my head, or tensing my arms and neck. Some people have picked up on it and made fun of me. But I’ve gotten over it and feel so much better. The fact that Dhar Mann is bringing this into the light is awesome. Thanks Dhar Mann, I watch your vids all the time! ❤️
You're very much welcome. I appreciate you for sharing your experience with OCD. Keep your head up and don't let negativity affect you. I hope this video helps.
Thank you for this video. I can totally relate. I never spoke about it to anyone because I thought that I would be considered mad. OCD is really the worst torture ever. It feels as if we are captivated in a self imposed invisible cage.
I appreciate That ❤️......For real 😀......There aren't much ppl appreciating Psychologist and Psychiatrists, I'm not any of them but ppl really don't think it as an important jon 🥰
I’m glad they portrayed OCD accurately because I also have OCD. I appreciate how they did that 😊 I was first diagnosed when I was in high school and I got help for it. I’m now 28 years old and I still deal with it at times but it’s not as bad as it was when I was first diagnosed.
@God is a stupid idiot f*cking assh*ole bit*ch it’s sad that God still loves you, even though you are so filled with hate. Looks like someone wants a ticket straight to hell
Guys I just wanted to say, ocd is not just about being obsessed. Ocd is when you have constant intrusive thoughts that can only be relieved if you do a certain action, phrase, etc. Imagine always having your worst thoughts on your mind that you can’t ignore, that’s the best way I can explain it. As a person who suffers with it, I can say it’s torture.
Yeah and I don’t want to self diagnosed but I seem to have similar symptoms because I’ve kind a developed these ticks just to make those thoughts go away and it’s so hard because it got to the point that I was hurting myself.
I agree, people stereotype OCD way too often. I suffer from extreme OCD, and when I initially tell people that, they (not jokingly) are like “Oh so would you be pissed if I opened this chip bag from the bottom?” 🙄
I love this video because I’ve been suffering from OCD and anxiety for the past five years and after so long I’m finally coming out of it so thank you because OCD isn’t just pet peeves it an actual disorder
I totally agree I have the worst possible kind of OCD (PANS) where your entire brain is structured differently than a normal person so I am one to be able to relate.
I notice that actress is really good at playing a mean person. She is also good at playing a really sweet, kind hearted person. However, I would hate to be on her bad side.
Hey Dhar! I resonate with this! I've had OCD for the past 13 years or so, and have had everyone around me and my own family advice that OCD isn't any condition but just a bad habit I should get rid of. Thank you for voicing out on Mental health issues!
OCD isn’t just cleaning there’s also the type where you feel like you have to do something or else someone dies, or you get bad luck, etc… so I know what it’s like to have it, a lot of people told me stuff like the grandmother is saying to the maid, and it’s stressful. The point is that “you shouldn’t be hard on people with a disorder.” I also have ADHD and a lot of people say “focus on your work” or “stay on task!” So I know what it’s like. Thank for this message Dhar!
I would like to simplify this to anyone reading . OCD is a mental disorder which causes people anxiety over multiple things . for example I have Memory hoarding OCD , I just cannot let go of any memories , I have to jog everything down at all times, It’s very distressing . That also comes in with what OCD stands for , Obsessive Compulsive Disorder . Basically in simple you will feel distress over something and attend in rituals they will cause major distress.
My mom has OCD, so I hope and pray that this story helps everyone who have OCD or something similar and also help people who don't treat people equally based on their disorders, disabilities, ect.
Honestly, as a kid with OCD, this is a lot like how a misunderstanding parent acts around their child with OCD through the child's eyes. Obviously not as extreme in some areas of the video, but very similar. They think they're doing the best for you, but they're really just beating down your self esteem. This video is well represented (still with some room for improvement), and good representation of OCD is not something you see often. You mostly see harmful, stigmatizing, terrible representation.
@@bballfanatic1192 that is not it, it can be when your brain tells you to do all these thing and you feel pressured to do it or something terrible will happen Example: it could be if you don't turn the light switch on and off 5 times but it has to be an even number so 6 times then your family will die, you will get sick you will die etc. As you feel so pressured to do all this you can also get anxiety. Tbh OCD is extremely difficult and doesn’t get enough recognition, but I feel like the grandma had the right to be mad. If she wanted a cleaner, the cleaner should be up to her expectations, and something difficult like a mental disorder could rlly get in the way of her work like that.

OCD is quite tough but I feel like the grandma did have the right to fire her because she is paying Ruby to clean the house but she can never really do it. And that is money coming from her pocket so I understand both point of views
the abuela: "you don’t understand, this is what i had to deal with all day!" me: no, you don’t understand, that's what people irl have to deal with their whole lives.
@@colleengylphe4750 I had bad OCD last year, thankfully I found a way to stop it. Basically I felt like I had to do certain things otherwise something bad will happen. It wasn't everything being clean or tidy for me. I think you should watch some videos on it or talk to some one! I can try help!
I have lived my life with OCD, and I often don’t get assignments done because I worry too much about how clean my paper is, how smooth it is, and how clean the table is. It really sucks having it, and O even get made fun of for having it. But there is nothing I can do. I have to physically work myself to get out of something that isn’t straight or isn’t clean.
My older sister has OCD and she has a constant habit to rearranging her room around so much. I would say she changes her room around about almost three times a week. But by now I've gotten use to it.
@Sharan Shibu No he doesn’t! He can’t just put everything together by himself! Of course he needs help but even so he’s still the one behind the video he’s made a big contribution to his videos
As a person who has OCD before I know how she felt. OCD ain't that easy to live with. It's like torture everyday and it's also being a slave to your mind.I dealt with it for 3 whole years.I managed to beat it. I saw my therapist and she really help and so as my parents.
I actually really love cleaning and everything has to be straight as HECK so if the house is SOOOOO messy I end up crying cause of my OCD this video means a lot 🙏
@Charlotte Alexander uhhh yeah DUH... that’s obvious 😂 Dhar man purposefully used that film technique so you can predict what happens next... it’s called foreshadowing
Having ocd is not being a clean freak or anything like that, if I would give an example it would be like stepping back out the door so you could come in with your left foot instead of right, or tapping the mirror ten times before leaving the restroom, not scrubbing the same spot over and over again. It's a common misconception, but the routine based thing is correct, I tend to not be able to walk out of routine, and I usually repeat things, never had an issue with cleaning persay though, nor things being straight, though I don't stand for everyone, I also don't see that happen alot and that too is a misconception, ocd is not having to be clean or super organized
I completely agree. Another example would be the lines in the pavement. For example q person with OCD wouldn't want to step on the lines or step right over or on them with alternating feet everyday.
@@sithacolol5337 I used to lock the door over and over again bc it just didn’t feel right, I had to walk into my room with my left foot, put food in the left side of my mouth first or it just won’t feel right (the left side specifically bc I’m left handed and right side is bad luck for me)
I actually had like The start of OCD but I was able to overcome it because when I realised I was obsessing over little things and making sure everything's perfect I started to overcome it and controlling over my anxiety after a while everything got better
Let’s just say that maids work so hard so we should be appreciated that maids do all the work for when we should be doing the work even though we think they are going as fast as they can but, they need to take their time. This video is going to be amazing.
From a person who has OCD this really hit home for me because your own parents and family will judge you for being different even if you can’t control it. They would say that ocd isn’t real but it is and for those who have it as well I hope you’re ok.
I also have OCD, but I learned to control it for over half my life. Now I don’t need to worry about the tiny speck of dirt, scratches, or that tiny spot on the whiteboard where the teachers don’t erase

Yes, it’s very hard, I have very serious OCD

Guys I just wanted to say, ocd is not just about being obsessed. Ocd is when you have constant intrusive thoughts that can only be relieved if you do a certain action, phrase, etc. Imagine always having your worst thoughts on your mind that you can’t ignore, that’s the best way I can explain it. Hey Dhar!

I've had OCD for the past 13 years or so, and have had everyone around me and my own family advice that OCD isn't any condition but just a bad habit I should get rid of.
Thank you for voicing out on Mental health issues!
It’s a bit like when you have clinical depression and people tell you to “just cheer up!”

Well, just live
But it is habit that needs to be controlled instead of get rid of..i know.

This video is well represented (still with some room for improvement), and good representation of OCD is not something you see often. You mostly see harmful, stigmatizing, terrible representation.
