My head canon for this is that Donkey Kong was taking a break from DK island so he decided to take the trip to the bronx, which eventually led up to him fighting little mac. He kidnaps little mac and throws him into the events of the smash storylines (literally)
***** He slams his hands down on the left and right side, then he claps them in the middle. When he slams his hands down, you just stay in the middle, when he claps his hands together you duck. It's pretty easy to dodge it if you know its coming, but he tricks you up because other times, he will just slam his hands right in the center, which forces you to dodge left or right. So the attack at 1:38 is there to throw you off because you have a very limited time frame to figure out which one he is doing. Donkey kong is the hidden character you get after beating everyone else in the game and going into last stand, so he is probably the hardest. If not, he is definately the trickiest.

He was already in Brawl, they just didn't make him a full character because he wouldn't have enough variety in moves to make it worth it. Instead, he was one of those support characters you get from that one item that's like a pokeball for everything but pokemon. xD
simplest way to beat him is by decision. just knock him down once and don't do anything. he will only throw punches about every 20 seconds if you don't try to hit him while he is taunting you.
