- I had the pleasure to meet longtime Oldtimers MX member Jimmy Harris, who told me how much he loved the KTM 300 XC TPI machine but wished he could get it to be more moto-oriented. He found a two-stroke hop-up shop called South Bay Moto Performance, which is the exclusive North American dealer for Two Stroke Performance out of Australia. South Bay Moto Performance sells a TSP Power Kit that comes with a cylinder head, ECU, spark plug, and idle screw for closed-course racing that’s said to help the 300 XC TPI pull much further than the stock setup. In order to handle fast, choppy terrain, along with the occasional motocross track, Jimmy would enlist Kreft Moto to get the suspension comfortable for a wide variety of terrain. Being that I like to ride motocross as well as some West Coast GPs, I tried this setup at Glen Helen to see how much different it felt over a stock 300 XC TPI.

Great video. Always good to hear your thoughts and see the bike rip. 💪🔥
Nice ,doing a similar build with a 2020 250 xc tpi , been using 2 stroke performance for a lot of years ,they know their stuff.( no affiliation with 2 stroke performance ) 👍
Keefer, I suppose, is technically a vet, but from what I know he doesn’t ride like one. Bike is sick. Wish they weren’t unobtainiom.
Red 🤙🏼 You da Man!
Do you have the average cost for that type of Kreft set-up?
Really bummed that Twisted Development doesn’t have their own TPI power solutions. They sure can tune the carbureted bikes to haul the mail!
I would love to ride with Red! Good dude for sure. Wonder if he’s ever in Az riding?
Are you allowed to run 32:1 in California
When you say adjust the power valve all the way out, does out signify tame or more aggressive? I imagine more aggressive, but in my experience I liked the 250 TPI all the way tame.
Ya even though Keefer was riding it like the PV was a fork spring, he’s referring to out being more aggressive
@@t_medaglia thanks for the reply
These bikes come stock with a medium (yellow) PV spring installed as well. If you want more of an mx feel, go for the red PV spring and turn the PV out to around flush. If you want more, then upgrade your reeds, put on a shorty silencer, pipe, head, ECU, etc. If you're looking to save money, just buy the red spring and turn out your PV some. Bike is super tame stock, but can absolutely RIP on a track with the right mods.
Have this exact setup on my 250 tpi , it's 💯
Except that gigantic heavy ass Silencer 💩
Horrible set up. Everything including the graphics. Looks like they did some google research, slapped some things together and boom.
