I love this episode and I have to share why. When I was little, my mom got me a children's bestiary which I still have to this day. In it, it contained the Vegetable Lamb of Tartary {aka the Barometz/Schythian lab}- a creature not seen that much in popular culture. The Vegetable Lamb was my favorite creature in that bestiary and I'm glad to see it represented in the media! In IRL, supposedly the Vegetable Lamb was the cotton plant- Europeans used wool and were unfamiliar with the the concept of cotton so they assumed it came from a sheeplike plant {or perhaps, European merchants on the Silk Road saw wild cotton plants growing from afar and mistook them for sheepish plants}. A modern fern, Cibotium barometz, is named after the Vegetable Lamb.
Apparently theres a real life plant from the silk road that also resembles a sheep too? I dont remember the details but I remember hearing something along those lines
@@snuffsaid1703 Cibotium barometz sometimes grows into a vaguely animal shaped structure in its early stage of life but I've also heard accounts of specimens that were deliberately altered to resemble sheep. They were often found in the collections of naturalists and other folks like that.

noticed as a manga reader they've been doing 2 chapters an episode so based on where i think it'll end i'm also guessing 24, i've seen some ppl think it'll end a bit earlier tho i've seen a hack on the egg thing they make where after eating ramen u mix an egg into ur leftover broth and microwave it, no idea if it's good tho. for me most food i don't like is a texture not flavour thing, mushrooms? no, but dried mushrooms in ramen packets? sure. onions? never, but blended in a sauce? hell yeah
I feel that. Texture plays a huge factor for me as well. Sometimes it's all about that mouth feel. But 24 definitely sounds like a good number, I wish it was more! I don't want it to end ever haha
Baromets is vegetable meat, like artificial crab sticks. In the place where I grew up, in the winter you could only eat cows, milk and animal products, and freshwater lake fish. I have always loved adding green onions, dill or garlic to sour cream, and it also produces an interesting effect with chili sauce. As I grew older, I developed an aversion to freshwater fish to the level of a rejection reflex, but this does not apply at all to lightly salted and lightly smoked salmon. Not long ago I realized that you can eat baked fish if you have a piece of lemon to season the fish with. Lemon juice neutralizes the somewhat nasty fishy odor. I'm a little confused by why you call Izutsumi, the cat girl, a guy.
Vegetable meat sounds so wild ha. Lemon is one of my favorite things to add to any fish that I do end up eating. So I think we might have been a little confused about the cat girl for a sec because they called her a beast-man when they first met her, but thanks for the clarification.
Check this out, when you're watching and reacting to a show for the first time as well as recording it in front of a camera things will slip past you. If it bothers you that much then you don't have watch it. We know she's a chick now, I caught it when I was editing the video. Also it's freaking anime, how many dudes be looking like chicks and vice-versa in all these shows. We try to be as precise as possible when it comes to that but sometimes it's hard to tell, so we are just saying "dude" until we absolutely know for sure.
@@TheHeckOfficial Okay but the dialogue refers to Izutzumi as "her" and "she" several times through this episode alone, not even counting the other ones. The only possible conclusion I can come to is that you are not reading the subtitles.
