my dad is a dsp and worked closely with him, got hurt 3 times in head in raids.12 stiches. i feel he always regrets about joining the sub inspector post and not trying for upsc or bpsc, mostly it was due to family's financial constraints. because he works 12 hrs a day, literally he go to raid at 9pm and come at 4-5am on at least 4-5 days a week. despite this hardwork he is stuck in dsp post, whereas he could have easily achieved dgp post.
Amit , I am impressed by your interview, it proves my concept that a degree from IIT does not mean in itself anything , it is a gate pass to do do many things in the life and much different from the field we got selected . Unfortunately in our country , still it is very difficult to understand the interest of the children or the fields they can shine. When I joined Mechanical I myself did not knew what was mechanical engineering and even after passing you may get something different depending upon the availability. I wish you good luck for your adventure . It adds to our Alumina .
