im having water in the REAR passenger footwell instead of the front footwell and it appears only when the AC is on. What could it be? I'm guessing not this since this is in the front
It likely is running under the front seats, to the back. You could also have leaking windshield base cowl, clogged (sunroof, AC, or windshield/battery) drains. These would leave water under the carpet, and if you don't pull them up, you may only notice when the AC adds to it. Since the surface of the carpet will usually dry out.
@@fiveforbiting It was actually this AC drain plug, I fixed it yesterday. Didn't understand how it's possible for the front carpet to stay dry while the rear was soaked but made sense when I took it apart... front carpet has more foam and higher positioning, which is why the rear gets soaked through the visible part much sooner than the front... thanks for the comment anyways :)
i am having this issue right now, but only due to water running from the passenger footwell to the rear passenger footwell. any tips to fix this since you said you have?
are these mk4s? does this apply to a 2001 jetta? I am having the same problem and trying to locate the ac drain. This video looks applicable.
