You are so right! I used to have evening classes back in 2014 and made progress now that I am on my own it is difficult. There is a Japanese teacher in my town so I guess I’ll take classes with her.
Found your YT and Insta content this year and it has been great for learning and improving, as well as understanding the language better. Absolutely love the content and the variety of the content. Keep up the great work in the year to come! I will definitely be there to learn from your wisdom and teachings! Mochi-sensei, thanks for a fantastic 2024! :)
You make a great point though. Consistency is key to success, but can be hard to achieve especially when adding learning Japanese to a life full of other commitments! I like your point on goals and motivation, with the sports analogy and the desire to be great at something. Championship mentality! I can still give it my all even if I am unable to dedicate all my time to it, is what this made me realize today. I also like your video making analogy (making videos is hard work!), because I really think it is important to be able to push through discomfort.
Happy New Year Sensei, and Thank you for the Wonderful Learning Experience. Keep up the good work, see you next year :) (sorry, can't write in Japanese due to hangover)
Thank You for all the videos and for making a positive change in life of so many people. You are doing great work!
I am learning from scratch with TH-cam, Google, ChatGPT, etc. I started with kana in August 2024. Now, at the end of December 2024, even though I haven't taken the JLPT, I am surely at the N5 level (I took some mock tests and passed them). My target is N4 in July 2025 and N3 in December 2025. However, I don't just want to pass the JLPT. I want to be able to read, write, speak, and listen to Japanese at the same level as my JLPT or higher. My target is going to Japan, and dating Mochi Sensei 😂🤣
I’ve found that, because I don’t understand fully, either the language or the natural parsing of sentences (pausing etc) that shadowing is both embarrassingly slow, difficult, and physically exhausting (concentration + out of breath) 🥺
I subscribed to your channel because I think your videos are really great to practice and keep up with the practice. But I haven't even started yet. I think this video is the sign that I really should be starting my journey now and actually study :D I hope you'll have an even better year in 2025! :)
My goals are simple: hiragana katakana read and write. 365 kanji read write and what mean. deadline is one year. I want see how I can do it. in next year I will see how % I did
I started learning how to speak Japanese with a desire to watch anime in sub, but then as I continue to study the language you became more and more interesting I later on felt in love with Japanese, so I wanted to study more. I then set a goal that if I'm ever good at speaking this language.. I'll visit Japan one day. Even with that said there's not a single day i don't practice
After studying Japanese for almost two years I am comfortable putting sentences together and speaking, but I still have a difficult time processing and understanding when spoken to in Japanese unless they speak slow and stay around N4 or N5 level. There are so many different styles of Japanese as well. Do you have any tips on how I can get my brain to better process. I am old and not in my 20s anymore :)
I want to be able to follow Japanese movies, lyrics from some musics and read interviews (to listen interviews is something a little bit difficult). I do not know which level I must be. I studied Japanese for 2 years now, but I am still in the basics. I want to be at least on N5 level by the end of 2025 or a good amount of N4.
I've done a test for N5 recently and i made it well i understand but i'm lost at some parts (Tell me if i made some errors on japanese part, i'm only N5 and i'd be open to corrections)
I have a problem. I've been getting jozued in real life and on the internet by tutors, etc. Still can't have conversations thats isn't asking people questions.
😪 I just don’t know why I need it, before I wanted to go live in Japan for a while, but now I know that it’s almost unrealistic and I don’t really want it anymore
I am too realistic to think that if my Japanese is good enough, I should be able to date a kawaii Japanese woman. But I do want to improve my Japanese for me to communicate to the Japanese when I am vacationing in Japan. It's not like I am starting at zero I do have some foundations with Nihongo, but like she said, I need some consistency when studying the language.
If you want fluency, just try to do random sentences in japanese frequently if you struggle with "R" or "double consonnant" reading, try simple sentences like "私は食べません。" (i don't eat) and after complexify them like "私はエビを食べません持っているから海の果物アレルギー。" (i don't eat shrimp because i have an allergy to seafruit.). Just do it frequently and you'll see you'll go far. The Romaji for the sentences in japanese: 1rst: "Watashi wa tabemasen" 2nd: "Watashi wa ebi o tabemasen motte irukara umi no kudamono arerugii."
I want to go to a Manga school in 2026. and even though it is international the language requirement is passing a JLPTN 2 test. I an at level 4 right now, wish me luck.
@bestactress1658 While I do think one can gain a solid working knowledge of the language, it's just that becoming truly fluent may be very, very difficult, probably impossible.

@bestactress1658 No one can answer that but you. I've been there a few times. Interesting place. I like it but remember Japan is very inward looking. They don't allow many immigrants, don't want many. It's their right. I respect that. But learning any language is a wonderful thing and exercises your brain. 👍
@@gsr4535 Yes, the brain has developed amazingly this year, considering the fact that Japanese is one of the five most difficult languages in the world. I think it's time to stop before it's too late😂
