The fascinating story surrounding the original work of art commissioned by St Faustina and painted in Vilnius, Lithuania, by an uncelebrated artist is finally being told in a new documentary, The Original Image of Divine Mercy (Now on DVD - see below)
The Original Image of Divine Mercy features exclusive interviews with first-hand eye-witnesses, as well as with Bishop Robert Barron of Los Angeles (Word On Fire), George Weigel (biographer of Saint Pope John Paul II), comedian Jim Gaffigan, Grammy award-winning musician Harry Connick Jr., Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz of Krakow, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn of Vienna, Fr. Michael Gaitley MIC, author Fr. Leo Maasburg (spiritual director and confessor to Blessed Mother Teresa), and many others.

The 10:18-long Divine Mercy Chaplet here on YT was I believe what saved my 78-year old mother from Severe Pneumonia months ago. I prayed this whenever I could. My siblings also prayed the Divine Mercy chaplet in their own time. When my mom was well enough to pray, she prayed this too in the hospital so Our Lord Jesus could help us pay the bills and He did. We even got excess money after all the bills were paid. I told my mother that there's a reason she survived that Covid-19- like condition with the ventilator and all, she even flatlined when transferred to a different hospital. I believe the Lord wanted her to testify for the Divine Mercy. And she did, before many people who cried with her while testifying to the greatness of the Lord. The music if fitting (except at the end) as it has a rather royal sound to it, and our Lord Jesus is very much the Divine King with our Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit. Beauty within our Lord. Can I adore Him 24/7.. sitting with Him in the peace of 'quiet' is beautiful. How can we forget our Holy Lord and Savior.. As a Catholic with my Faith formation begining in the late 50’s and 60’s, I never heard of the “Divine Mercy” image/chaplet and only became aware of it a few years ago. Although Pope John Paul II reversed the Church’s 20 year ban on this devotion in 1978, it still remains controversial with many who believe it’s an unnecessary devotion as we already have the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus which calls for the reparation of sin AND a deeper understanding of Christ’s love and mercy for us. I guess it doesn’t hurt or endanger a Catholic’s faith to participate in this devotion, but it does in my humble opinion seem today to take precedence over the more solemn, century’s old devotion and more edifying image of the Sacred Heart.

Wonderfull, I haven't known about this production. I look forward to seeing this film, BUT I am alsow wondering why the only name of a country wchich is in this trailer is "Lithuania", if Sait Faustina was Polish and Wilno that time was in Poland. I know that Wilno nowadays is a capital of sovereign country BUT someone, who has noow idea about this story, can draw wrong conclusions.
