I have been listening to this post for years, just thought I’d say thanks for posting.I would give almost anything to hear more ..original ELECTRIC SUN ✌️
Thanks for posting this, Superlelle! I saw Uli do Sundown in Poughkeepsie, NY in 2004 (on the Sky guitar) and it was the greatest guitar playing I've ever heard. The improvisational soloing had to be heard to be believed! It was the last night of his U.S. tour and the only time he played that song since the early 80s, as far as I know. My brother and I call Uli "No One Toucher" because no one has reached his level of guitar genius. Few players are breaking new ground like this living legend!
Totally agree. You and I were lucky to see him on that tour. 19 years away from the states. Yes, he had to play rhytmn and lead. The Vivaldi and Hendrix were equally magnificent in Milwaukee and grown men were crying tears of ??? Emotion, without knowing why. It was very moving and technically proficient. Now he has other guys and is doing great things but 2004 was a test the water thing for Uli. Plus, with herr Schenker ending the show....It was almost supernatural. He didn't paly Sundown but the whole set was excellent.
