I was so annoyed that my turner was spinning the "wrong" direction. After watching this tutorial, I tried doing what she did, and MINE REVERSED DIRECTION TOO. WHOA.
This is a great instructional video and so inspiring. And what a pleasant break from the "goofy-doofus-clown" videos I previously watched to learn the art form. Calm instruction and information. I’m a fan!
This tutorial was exactly what I needed to see! I wish I would have watched it yesterday, when I did my first alcohol ink tumbler. It answered a ton of questions I had!! Thank you!!! This is so beautiful and a wonderful beginner tutorial!
I just wanted to say that I love your videos. Many of the tumblers I've made (like the peek-a-boo, blown ink and camo) have been possible because of your videos. Thank you!!
I absolutely love this tutorial! I was afraid to take on this challenge until I came across this tutorial! My tumbler turned out beautifully! Thank you for this step by step tutorial
Just found your video. The tumbler is awesome. I have a couple of ?s. When you reverse is your turner reversible. How do you keep the tumbler from moving do you have something bigger on the inside.and do you spray paint all of your tumblers. Lots of ?s. You have helped me. Thank you for everything you do. Be Blessed
I will be putting epoxy on my first 2 tumblers tomorrow. A woodgrain, and tack it. I just love what you did here. So Stunning. Thanks for your time and talent. hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
Just wondering do we need a “heavy duty” heat gun or are the craft heat guns ok to use? Oh and btw beautiful tumbler! And does this work on the plastic tumblers as well? And lastly can you put a design or saying on this also? Sorry so many questions, whole new concept for me and I am absolutely amazed.
This is awesome. Funny cuz I was the one that was able to mess up with this style. I added too much silver…. It took over the whole cup! My second tumbler had patches without the epoxy on the cup after it dried! Maybe I need to sand the cup or use more epoxy. 🤷♀️ I’m sure with practice I’ll get better.
Just learning how to do this.. question, when you say you use alcohol ink, is that different then acrylic paint? Can I us acrylic paint when I do an alcohol ink design? I apologize beforehand for the dumb question.
Thank you for this video. I used this as my inspiration to create a tumbler. It’s very pretty and I only had issues where some areas the epoxy has patches that are not smooth or covered. But the tumbler was completely covered prior to drying. Do you have any tips for this issue ?
I love the video and it is easy to follow and understand. I am going to make my first alcohol tumbler here shortly. I do have a question...if you choose not to place a decal do you still need to apply another coat of epoxy?
I’m researching tumblers, came cross your TH-cam and I subscribed. I have a couple of questions. If I want to add rhinestones do I epoxy over that? When add a decal what epoxy do I use over that?
I'm just learning to make these but i want to make one for my brother for his birthday and i wanted to know if you could do a fire alcohol ink tumbler and then use the dish soap technique " power wash spray dish soap and then spray paint over it and then rinse with a hose". Can you tell me if you think it would or could work together? plz and thank u 😊 Edit: Oh, and then would I be able to put a vinyl decal over that?
Hi. I've been going thru many of your videos. Love them. Thank you for sharing. I'm purchasing all my products in preparation to try my hand at this. Do you have a chart anywhere suggesting how much epoxy to use for the type of project and size of the cup?
I don’t have a chart. But once you get going, and learning, you just start knowing how much epoxy to us. I know that sounds silly. I also try to add the total amount of epoxy used for each tumbler
Perfeito! Parabéns! Uma dúvida: Você usou primeiramente prime para depois iniciar com outras tintas? Gosto muito do que você nos presenteia aqui no canal.É cada obra mais linda que a outra.😘😘
This IS goof able. I had runs like rain that gathered when I swirled it. I think too much thick coat. I used a whole 20 ml on it. But it’s getting pitched. My cup doesn’t stay in the arm of my spinner right…. Learning curve
Do you ever get ripples or waves in your tumblers? I tried this twice and both times after letting it spin for 12 hours it had ripples if I felt from top to bottom, I've been told it's because my tumbler is uneven but watching urs spin ur cup was uneven and it came out good? Any advice?
I tried this tumbler but I put it on a glittered tumbler and the glitter showed through in places making it more shinny and I called it an angery ocean it was great
I tried one of these today and I got a lot of dark colored pooling at the bottom. The colors blended correctly on the rest of the cup but I'm wondering if I used too much heat? Or what else could have caused that?
Beautiful, reminds me of my acrylic pours! I’m going to try this, so I’m going to watch more to see all the items needed. Love the way you instruct plain and simple! Thanks you ;-)Subscribed
So once done and dry then you do not have to do another thin coat of resin on top of alcohol ink?? I am not adding a decal. I just want to know if it needs a top coat to seal or not
Make sure it is 91% Alcohol and you are wiping it with a clean paper towel. Not a rag. Don't touch the tumbler after you clean. Sometimes we have lotions on our hands that we forget about and it transfers to the tumblers, causing the epoxy to repel.
Im having problems with my epoxy not harding and staying tacky. Why does mine end up tacky? Could you do a video on why it would remain tacky no matter how long I let it spin.
You may not be mixing your epoxy properly. Here is a link on how to mix epoxy with no bubbles and so it will cure properly: th-cam.com/video/u0FkbfgBlTE/w-d-xo.html
I wish I made them but I’m not that talented lol. SpencersCreations5 on Etsy have great turners. I have a code KISS15 to receive 15% off your purchase.
Hi! I’m trying to do a tumbler using Pinata alcohol ink and Art Resin epoxy. After applying the epoxy and drops of ink, I see dry spots ☹️. It looks like the ink is drying the epoxy, is it normal? What can I do, what am I doing wrong? I need help 🙏. Thank you!
Love it!! How do you change directions with your turner just by your hand? I need a Turner like that 😊
I was so annoyed that my turner was spinning the "wrong" direction. After watching this tutorial, I tried doing what she did, and MINE REVERSED DIRECTION TOO. WHOA.
Thank you so much, so many videos assumes the beginner should know certain things…. I did not. You are a good teacher!
So beautiful. I love the effect with little heat. I thought you needed a lot of heat to make it move. Amazing. It has so much depth to it!
Love how the metalic comes through
Me too!
Getting a tumbler done and I want it in ACU camouflage pattern. Is it possible to get that level of specificity?
Hi, I made my first alcohol ink tumbler 2 nights ago it’s completely dry to the touch is it done? Or do I have to do another layer of epoxy?
The best tutorial I've seen on here. Thanks for sharing
Love the colors!! Can you use a toothpick to give more swirl or marble look or a heat gun . Which is better
Thank you for this informative tumbler. I'm going to try and make some.
Thank you, great tutorial and beautiful tumbler!
That’s cool like Bob Ross. All those happy place in every turn. I love it.

Should you sand the tumbler before applying the decal?
That is one stinking cute tumbler love love it ❤️ one thing I'm confused about what is the machine you use to swirl the cups on please x
I absolutely love this tutorial! I was afraid to take on this challenge until I came across this tutorial! My tumbler turned out beautifully! Thank you for this step by step tutorial
My pleasure!!
This is so pretty! It kind of reminds me of one of the Monet painting colors. Love mitt, thank you! 💐

I use a tumbler turner from SpencerCreations5 on Etsy. Before designing my tumbler, I spray paint the entire tumbler.
I will be putting epoxy on my first 2 tumblers tomorrow. A woodgrain, and tack it. I just love what you did here. So Stunning. Thanks for your time and talent. hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
Thank you for the how to videos they have helped me so much!!!! Just love them

From what I know you don’t want to use resin in a plastic tumbler. I have heard of people using the double wall plastic tumblers, but I wouldn’t.
Would love a video on your tumbler/motor setup!
I second that!
Do you do anything to get epoxy from getting inside the tumbler
Beautiful! Love it so much!
@@armanidouglas5347 Get out of here.

I’m a newbie so new that I’m currently waiting for Amazon to deliver my tumblers as I’m writing this! I’m so gonna do this! Thanks for the tutorial!!
Happy Crafting!!! 🥰

And your tumbler down then re epoxy over. The bumps and “holes” will go away
Thank you for sharing! Where did you get your cup turner at?
After the heat gun, do you seal the tumbler ? I loved the video
I love the video and it is easy to follow and understand. I am going to make my first alcohol tumbler here shortly. I do have a question...if you choose not to place a decal do you still need to apply another coat of epoxy?
Thank you so much. You can add one thin coat of epoxy just in case some alcohol ink is exposed and not covered with epoxy.
Thank you for sharing. Does the tumbler have to be spray painted before or can you leave the tumbler silver?
Spray painted. Watch my video here for some more help. th-cam.com/video/QvgeV33scGQ/w-d-xo.html
I’m researching tumblers, came cross your TH-cam and I subscribed. I have a couple of questions. If I want to add rhinestones do I epoxy over that? When add a decal what epoxy do I use over that?
Amazing! So simple & easy! Can’t wait to make one! 😆
Does the alcohol inc draw into the thick clear coat you've put on or does the ink stay on top of the clear ?
Awesome very pretty.
Can you use a hair blow dryer if you don’t have heat gun?
Yes you can
I'm just learning to make these but i want to make one for my brother for his birthday and i wanted to know if you could do a fire alcohol ink tumbler and then use the dish soap technique " power wash spray dish soap and then spray paint over it and then rinse with a hose". I love your tutorials! I have learned so much from you. Thank you!
Great tutorial 😁
Hello beautiful cup, do you mind sharing what ink provides the metallic result. Thanks
Quick question will any alcohol ink work on the same like does it have to be Tim Holtz or Piñata inks
Love it! You explained it so simple!
It looks like the earth from space. It’s gorgeous!! 😍
Thank you so much!
Awesome job, do you put more epoxy at the end after the ink has been applied?
i can't wait to try this! thank you!
Love the tutorial since I am a beginner. If I wanted to add glitter how much epoxy would I add to seal.
It all depends. Roughly 20 ML total
So detailed and easy to follow. Thanks so much.
Do you have a tutorial on making a glittered alcohol ink tumbler?
I love this video
Wonder if you could do this an the beach at the bottom so it looks like waves
Great Tutorial.
I'm going to try it again. I tried making a few like this and I ended up with a hot mess. I think a rush it!
You can do it!
This IS goof able. I had runs like rain that gathered when I swirled it. I think too much thick coat. I used a whole 20 ml on it. But it’s getting pitched. My cup doesn’t stay in the arm of my spinner right…. Learning curve
As beginner I have no idea what you are using that turns the tumbler? Kind regards
Thank you so much, your videos are great! Learn so much in each and every video 🧐
do u have to paint your tumbler white first? if the tumbler is already white do i need to paint it white again to use the alchol inks?
I am going to try this for christmas where can i find a turner like that one or can i make one. This is amazing
Etsy has so many. Check them out. If you only need one, Amazon has plenty too!
Im about to try one.... My 6yr old grandson requested a red white and black one with fgteev stickers...... and he shall have:)
love the colors i just got mine, it so easy and faster lol.... i did like fire truck color i am making for my uncle first time
Thanks so much for this! It is Super Bowl Sunday and I am trying my 1st tumbler tonight!
Thank you! You explain this so well!
Do you ever get ripples or waves in your tumblers? I tried this twice and both times after letting it spin for 12 hours it had ripples if I felt from top to bottom, I've been told it's because my tumbler is uneven but watching urs spin ur cup was uneven and it came out good? Any advice?
I tried this tumbler but I put it on a glittered tumbler and the glitter showed through in places making it more shinny and I called it an angery ocean it was great
Do you have to sand the tumbler first or is the spray paint enough?
This is so Beautiful, I’m going to do my first tumbler using Alcohol Inks, Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! Good luck!
I’m definitely a beginner and I totally love you thank you I’ve learned a lot ❤️❤️❤️
Can you use cups that have a powered coating on it? Like Ozark trail ones from Walmart. The one that are colored
I tried one of these today and I got a lot of dark colored pooling at the bottom. The colors blended correctly on the rest of the cup but I'm wondering if I used too much heat? Or what else could have caused that?
That's beautiful ❤️
Quick question - how did you prep your tumbler around the top? Or do you do something after? If so what?
I sand the tumbler including the rim and then wipe with 91% alcohol.
That's awesome!
Do I have to print the Tumblr?
Thank you! Beautiful!
Thank you! Great video! Learned a lot.
Beautiful, reminds me of my acrylic pours! I’m going to try this, so I’m going to watch more to see all the items needed. Love the way you instruct plain and simple! Thanks you ;-)Subscribed
Love your cup! I can't wait to make one too. What was the metallic color you used?
It is the blue mixative from Tim holds. They have a metallic look to them.
What blue mat are you using on the bottom? Where did you get it?
Can you use alcohol ink on a quick set epoxy?
How do you keep the epoxy on the top and bottom? I tried last night and the epoxy just drifted away from the top and bottom.
Wow love it
Do you put another coat of epoxy after alcohol inks have dried with no decal?
I got to admit i wasn't liking it in the beginning, but the final result was amazing!
did you make your spinner? where did you get it if not? thanks :)
After it is done turning, will there be another need for epoxy after the alcohol inks?
Yes you can add another coat of epoxy of needed
If u can't get a heat gun right now can you use a hair dryer on low?
So once done and dry then you do not have to do another thin coat of resin on top of alcohol ink?? I am not adding a decal. I just want to know if it needs a top coat to seal or not
Another thin coat of epoxy wouldn't hurt the tumbler to sealing everything. I would use 10 ML-15ML of epoxy total for the 20ounce tumbler
I keep getting spots where the epoxy repels when I try this. Any suggestions? I sand and wipe the tumbler with alcohol before I paint it.
Make sure it is 91% Alcohol and you are wiping it with a clean paper towel. Not a rag. Don't touch the tumbler after you clean. Sometimes we have lotions on our hands that we forget about and it transfers to the tumblers, causing the epoxy to repel.
Have you tried doing an acrylic & alcohol ink combo tumbler ?
Im having problems with my epoxy not harding and staying tacky. Why does mine end up tacky? Could you do a video on why it would remain tacky no matter how long I let it spin.
You may not be mixing your epoxy properly. Here is a link on how to mix epoxy with no bubbles and so it will cure properly: th-cam.com/video/u0FkbfgBlTE/w-d-xo.html
Did you make your turners yourself? If so could you do a video one day if you don’t already have one.
I wish I made them but I’m not that talented lol. SpencersCreations5 on Etsy have great turners. I have a code KISS15 to receive 15% off your purchase.
Great video - starting one soon
They are gorgeous. Is the resin you use food safe?
The epoxy I use is Amazing Clear Cast and it is FDA approved
WOWWWW I love it!!!
Thank you!
You may not have enough epoxy in that area or you may be heating up that area too much
This might be a silly question, but I'm new and was wondering, when doing alcohol ink tumblers are we supposed to sand it or leave it as is??
It depends. Sometimes it needs to be sanded if its bumpy. Other times it doesn’t need to be sanded
@@MissKissKreations Thanks so much! You're creations are beautiful fyi :)
After it spends for 4-6 hours. Do you have to add a epoxy to it again?
Yes 🙂
Do you have to sand the cup prior to spray painting?
How long do you let your tumbler dry after you spray paint it?
20 minutes or so
Thanks for the video.
