Maby it`s just me, but I think The Constant Gardener is amazing. I was completely invested in the love-story, and it worked amazingly as an intense thriller!

Liked it quite a bit. Not your typical Clichéd thriller.

The film is well acted, well directed, stylish, interesting, well crafted & original John Le Carre adaptation. (82%) (4/5 stars) (positive)

He hates Ghandi, this guy is a trip

I think comparing it to "The English Patient" is slightly odd. The English Patient is better on so many levels, and works dramatically too.

I seem to remember Ghandi garnered 9 oscars - was that just for subject matter ?! Think not. Sometimes i think the doctor needs a checkup.

Gandhi is really good I thought, especially the performances, I think it got a bit of hate because it beat E.T. at the oscars, E.T. in the long run is more enjoyable and iconic. Really difficult to compare them though, one about a fantasy space Alice and a modern American family, the other a long, historical biopiece.

I found this film tedious in the extreme, certainly not of the opinion that Oscars equate to great films. What appeals to middle aged folk living the American dream in Florida does not usually appeal to me a working class Englishman in my mid thirties. People tend to use Academy awards to back their arguments when it suits them, surely nobody goes to see a film because it won an Oscar rather they went to see it because they wanted to see it.
