Thats not how you weld with stick, your supposed to start the ark and keep feeding the rod into the weld until you've welded all of everything that needed to be welded not weld it with a tack weld!
That IS also how you blow a hole on thing material
@@vittocrazi learn how to weld the. and you wont blow holes. All of these welders from the developing countries tack weld everything. I saw them tack welding quarter inch angle and plate. They tack it like 40 times and when they're done it looks like a bead. They don't know what they're doing and they use 6013 for EVERYTHING.
@@noteasybeingcheesy2673 Well, im from a "developing country" and 6013 IS literally all we have readily available for non industry aplications. And really. Stick welding under 1 mm with 1/3 inch rods IS way under specifications
Even running 10 amos under IS way too Hot. 1 mm doesnt have much room to disipate Heat.
And lets not forget. In 1mm stock, 1mm of penetration IS full penetration.
Thing is it works just fine and better than trying to fill a hole

Por lo que observo, lo más importante sería el ángulo de ataque del electrodo. En el vídeo parece casi paralelo a la pieza. Y los fogonazos los larga para fuera de la pieza. Si estuviera más parado el electrodo ese fogonazo perforaria su pared no es asi?

Qué amperaje se debe graduar el equipo, qué tipo de soldadura y de qué diámetro son las Varillas?
Ideally when you are stick welding you should always weld start to finish. If you pull arc away like in this video and restart you will have a high chance of slag inclusion and porosity “that varies depending on the welding rod you use”. You should always chip slag away and clean up the weld bead before lighting up again.

If you restart just after the previous pool solidifies, it blows the slag away and the two beads blend together
@@Fogyt121 depends on the welding rod, if you are welding with a rutile base flux like 6010 then yes, mineral base flux welding rod such as 7018 then no. Just my opinion though.
@@brandonkeller7870 if you're using either of these you likely have material that's thick enough to take the heat and not have craters open up

Sorry dude. Just multi tacks. plus most "welds" had undercut and were concave. Turn down the temp.

No necesitas más penetración cuando estás soldando menos de 2 mm de todas maneras.
Y no siempre hay un electrodo más delgado. En mi entorno solo hay de 3/16"

I like to use 1/4" 7024 jet rod at about 440 amps downhill with intermittent pauses of about 2 seconds with a long arc on really thin stuff.
Oh, and I like to run that on 110 v.
OOPS...Forgot to mention yer gonna need at least a 15 amp breaker, sorry.
Wouldn't MiG be cooler for thinner stuff? Less likely to burn through? I'm not a welder ....just asking.
Some jobs need stick do you want to be carrying gas bottles around 👍 windy conditions stick is best . Just down to best equipment for conditions. If your in the workshop mig all day
@@richardhowell8735 my dad had both and his portable generator/ welder was stick only.......makes sense. I guess if you cool down the power as long as your not sticking the rods you can keep from burning through.
I never was a welder but I did do layout, track torching, cutting, water jet programming and plasma cutting. I saw alot of air arcing but never did any. I was mostly drawing pieces in cad and cutting them out.....then helping people fit them up....or running saws, shears and punch presses.
That absolutely is not the way to stick thin metal. Guarantee your welds are full of slag and or porosity. Start with don't use a general purpose digging rod and secondly use a smaller diameter rod with less amperage.

Rod is too flat to the work in every example, get the right amps and the rod angle and you won't need to chip the slag. Great that you've made the video! Well done.

Something is off he let's the stick touch the metal and it doesn't get stuck where was the ark melting the 2 piece of metal together and how did the weld come out looking so good
Hes running hot enough to keep from sticking, or he has his arc control high. Using this method you can get away with running it high, but 7018 normally doesn't like it being very high

En el minuto 3:48 , el perfil horizontal es de un espesor mayor a 2 mm. y si a eso agregamos que no sabemos de que espesor es el perfil que está en posición vertical eso nos complica más todavía poder sacar conclusiones. Observen bien el perfil horizontal.

hardly a bead , its a row of tacks , and thats certainly not '' thin '' metal. The angles all wrong too , try that on a site and you would be on the street before tea break.

Горе-зритель . Если у тебя есть молоточек , который ты бережешь , чтоб тебе 8 гвоздей на финише забили , и отправили в цокольный этаж , - то знай . Лучше иметь плоский напильник ( правильно заправленный ) -- он куда более эффективен в обивке шлака и прилипших капель , чем молоток . Купи хоть 1 кг электродов , полижи языком , и понюхай , прежде чем пердеть из дивана дичь , которую ты извергаешь , не имея ничего общего со сваркой даже близко .

His rod angle is off but with stick welding you drag not push so he has that right atleast
