    For Maize and millet as in your example above, does it mean that you produce maize fodder and millet fodder separately then combine them(39kg & 61kg) while feeding?

    My question is that I want to make concentrate feed for livestock and I don't have soyabean

      The only issue is when you do not observe the feeding ratios of Hydroponics Fodder. If livestock are fed a lot of Hydroponics Fodder than is necessary, bloating and indigestion can occur due to high moisture content. Kindly clarify the CP content of each seeds, is it the original seeds content or after certain days of hydroponic growing?
    For example, maize from original 5-6% CP content will increase to 13-15% at 7th days and 19-20% at 14th days
    While interestingly for Soya with highest CP content on seeds, 1 local journal said the protein seems lost after the growth.

      Hi Ronald, the yield of different seeds is not the same. You need to ascertain germination rates and yield rates from the seed varieties available to you since they differ sometimes. Sorghum and millet can be germinated with the same procedure as barley.

      For soya, we do not recommend hydroponic fodder since the protein is above recommended daily amount.
      The soya can however be used to fortify other feeds to raise their protein content.
      However, should you wish to germinate the soya, procedure is the same as for barley/wheat except that you soak soya for 12hours instead of 4 hours.

      200 cows would require a unit measuring 18M by 8M by 3M (LxWxH). A dairy cow of 400kgs live weight will do 12kgs of hydroponic fodder. Not advisable to use Soya EXCLUSIVELY due to higher protein content above the required range

    Hello bro, thanks for the information but I would like to know if this applies to feeding chicken too. Let's say I have maize, do I have to mix it with another hydroponic fodder or it can be fed alone. Hope you get back to me. Thanks from Uganda

    I want to use 4 grain to make a mix that my goats will eat i have milo 8% crude, barley 11%, wheat 9%, and sunflower 14%, all raw seed. And I am lost on how to turn this into a 20% crude after growing it to fodder. I do not understand how to figure how much of the seed I need to grow

    Is it better to give just wheat grains to cows or is it better to grow grass out of wheat and to give that fodder to cow ?
    If I give wheat fodder to cow , is it necessary to add wheat grains separately to the diet of my cattle ?

    • @GrAnDeUrAfRiCa_Hydroponics
      @GrAnDeUrAfRiCa_Hydroponics  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wheat grain if milled is a source of carbohydrates while the fodder is a protein supplement
