I don’t see any reason how this is the perfect kit for a comp kit amazing steering! Forward bias motor weight titanium links, shaft, chub, knuckles machined gears, and any scx10ii part will fit on to it. Amazing review buddy!
Do what your doing i can see your energy is excellent, plus I'm sure winter we will see more videos. I just cycled the bay trail from Fairfield to vallejo to San Francisco. Detoured at this amazing park in Oakland. Cycling videos are appreciated too
Hey man, welcome back. I have missed your videos. I have been forced to build my own stuff and record it to pass the time. Hope everything is ok with you.
I built the trail king a couple days ago and it’s a great kit but how do they expect a decent size motor and the wires to fit through that timing chain cover thingy? Also there’s not much selection in 12.3” hardbodies with an opening hood. And no room for headers! Lol
Headers are indeed a bit tight, but one can also only do so much. I think we will see more lexan option with opening hoods in the months ahead, the Metric is a great body to showcase what can actually be done.
Great first impressions NonBoxing! Just judging by what you showed in video...will that electronics box/fuel cell impede the used of a interior or a truck bed? It sees to stick up a lot.
It will be a good fit behind the seats of any regular interior, but it is indeed a spacious box, meaning you can also fit a light controller in it for example. Seeing it stick out of the bed will be a pretty view though, in my opinion. Thank you for watching!
@@hemistormrc so far so good. But you hinted on plastic quality and in the element kit, a part on the c hub did crack while tightening a screw. I was careful but it did crack little. other wise kit is nice. Can not wait to get it running. Electronics and body will be in any day now. 👊👊✌
I already own the TRX4 sport kit but I want to get another kit to totally scale out do you have any suggestions...I was looking at the SCX ii...or Enduro Sedano...or SSD or Cross Emo.
You think this would be a good kit for a first time builder? Really want to make my own truck. Was also looking at the Redcat PACK kit, Pretty much a pre-built Gen8 kit. Any thoughts?
Fantastic video! Just in time too. I've been waiting to see a review on this kit as I'm trying to decide what to buy for my next project. Everything looks great, except the price. That's a bit hard to swallow for a builders kit that still needs a body, electronics and more. However I do understand why it costs what it does. It's very nice and needs no upgrading. Thank you for all of your efforts to provide us with great information and entertainment! Well done!
Thanks! I was very curious about this kit...love to see a blazer on that..have you ever considered a hard body?..it would be cool to see you paint one up.
I run this style transmition I hated how it went together, until I learned how to mesh it. you kinda have to go as central as possible with the pinion then put it back together and listen to how it runs. then if it sounds like it isn't there take it apart and adjust the motor on the motor mount. the key is to get it as central as possible. the all metal casing version has proven to be the strongest transmition I've ever ran. I've never needed to try a different pinion as the gearing seems to be spot on for scaling.. I just use different motors for different amounts of wheelspeed/ torque with this set up if I really need to change things.
Hi Mike, that is great to know as that's exactly what I did when assembling. Good to know it has been such a strong performer. Again, I appreciate the info. Have a great weekend!
We see so many Jeeps, Land Cruisers, Land Rovers, Toyota pickups....and they're all good. Not specifically from you, just the hobby in general. Maybe something along the lines of a first gen Bronco? First gen Land Cruiser 4 door (can't recall the model number)? Something a bit less common. That chassis is really cool and deserves a equally cool, unique body. Just my opinion. Anything that you build is going to be awesome I'm sure!
Waiting for mine to show up, going with an Axial 2012 JK Rubicon Unlimited body with the cage, hard top, and poison spider fares. Undecided other than that lol
Awesome looking build, now SSD needs to make a Chevy Apache pick up truck body like Vanquishes Scout “ish” body. Make it mainly lexan and add plastic bits of detail ! Either way I’m looking forward to the finished rig ! 👍👍
That is a very nice looking kit, after watching this video i have a better opinion of it. It seems like it has not gotten that much attention and that is kind of sad. Glad you took the time to do a review of it and get the word out on how good it is.
Hi Rich, it deserves all the attention it can get because it really is a good kit. Amazing parts, clear instructions, just a very understated box. Unfortunately. Thank you so much for watching!
@@hemistormrc Have been a fan for several months now ever since i got back into RC after many years away. Am a big fan of you painting since i too am a rattle can fan. As always keep up the great work and keep the videos coming. One last thing, that playhouse is awesome :)
Great video, thanks! Nice run through if the chassis! As far as a body, RC4WD 1985 Toyota 4Runner with an interior since scale is the name of the game with that chassis!
Do a Proline Metric TRD Racing Body. It already has an opening hood to showcase that motor and you could whip up some sick TRD paint scheme!!🤙🏼🤙🏼 Love your work man keep it up!!
As always love the honestly, never did understand the appeal of open boxes videos either. Way to show off a product that might otherwise get skipped over.
The SSD beats it in every aspect, but for a price tag that's much higher it should. The SCX102 Raw can be adapted as you go and as you see fit, the TrailKing comes fully loaded. It all depends on desire and expectation, and budget. Nice to have more options though!
I have taken your advice and picked up the Trail King and it is currently on its way to me. I have also picked up the Castle Creations Mamba X, 2850 kv slate crawler edition motor and esc combo to power it. To get me rolling I have the Pro-Line Rock Shooters. I have lots of choices as far as tires. I have always wanted a honcho so I’m doing the F-100 with cage on the back. All that being said, what would you recommend for bumpers?
Hi Chris I've actually built one of those I did a replica of my first 4x4 1980 K5 blazer fully detailed the motor with headers complete exaust I fabricated from a parts tree cut the hood and put chevy hinges on it now I have a $1200 rc well worth something memrable for me, you should do a Creep body with crazy wicked stripping like your scx10iii Rubicon really enjoy your videos 😎👍
Bedankt voor de review Chris. Beetje prijzig maar zitten leuke features op. Nu nog een leuke body erop. Dan zien hoe die zich verhoud in de vrije natuur :D Goed werk! Thank you for the review Chris. Slightly pricey but with nice features. Now a nice body on it. Then see how it goes into nature: D Good work!
Your rear driveshaft is out of phase. It'll give you some vibration. Your hate for the packaging was hilarious! lol You're right, though, they did an awful job. It should have actual photos and the fact they didn't list the features and options is insane. I can't wait to see what body, engine bay, and interior you do for it. I'm sure it'll be beautiful. How's the hobby/filming building coming? I can't wait to see the progress on that one; last I remember you were being super thorough and pretty far along.
Glad your back brother! Always a pleasure Chris! Kits are get'n more scale every day! Well covered. Nice castle. Have you checked out the Holmes motors. Even more torque than the castle. Again glad your back in the rc game again an hope you are well!
I have that style Transmission I usually take the main drive gear and shaft and put it in the motor mount plate and line the pinion up the best I can that way, then snug the motor up. I haven't broke teeth and have a smooth rolling truck.
It’s a really nice kit, it’s too bad that, from a scale point of view, there wasn’t more forethought to the motor placement. After much deliberation, and not wanting to cut apart the firewall in my expensive Jeep hardbody, I opted to get an SCX10 ii RBK, with SSD’s scale aluminum transmission and married transfer case. Thanks for the review.

SSD has been stepping up.They make really good products I think. I have used lots of their parts to build a couple of my rigs.
There really isn't a single part in the box that wasn't what I hoped it would be. Very nicely executed, and great instructions to boot.
Thank you for not wasting our time with the bags and box.
You are welcome!

All is well, been a very busy year, with some more busy months ahead. But I'm feeling fantastic. Thank you very much for staying patient with me!
Looks like an amazing kit. Can't wait until to see your complete build👍👍
Feels amazing too, very tight with almost no slop.
Love this video Chris every video you post is very informative and entertaining!!! PLEASE KEEP MAKING VIDEOS!!!!!
I promise I will, I'm glad you enjoy them!
Do the Proline Ambush body. You might be the only person that can make that thing look good.
I see a challenge!
I'm so glad you are feeling better, great video as always.

Great video Chris! Good honest opinion about the kit is always appreciated! 😁
Thanks Brad! I think you are having a lot of fun building your VS410Pro, slightly jealous here! :)
HemiStorm RC - Custom RC builds, painting videos and more . You will probably purchase one before to long and make it look awesome!

Hi Peter! I have done a couple in the past, they are fun but also very time consuming. Will do another one when the shop is all done!
Thanks for the video. Thinking about making this my first kit build!
You will be in for a treat, this was an exceptionally nice chassis to assemble.
Very nice kit Chris 👍👍

Too many bodies to mention, almost! I have one in particular that I have my eye on. ;)

The Proline Dodge Power Wagon body would be cool.
I might have one somewhere! Thanks Doug!
I've missed you bro!! Glad to see you doing alright still. Haha smooth bottom 🤭 keep it coming take care
I missed being here! Great to be back!
You should make it a sweet chevy stepside. Proline has a 78 K-10 stepside body for 12.3" wheelbase kits.
Thanks
I saw SSD and immediately thought you were talking about a solid state drive ROFL
i think a jeep rubicon would be cool or an old classic american pick up would fit perfect to the v8
I'm also thinking a classic would look nice!
Great video. Wanting to see the proline ram charger body.
Also where do I find the 3D print files you mentioned?
I got mine in an email, but I will try to find out!
With the motor so far back find a 4x4 van like c1500 or econoline! would look very scale and 4x4 vans are always cool!
no rush get those ducks trained will be here.

Needs to be a chevy body since that is a replica of a 350 sbc get that step side proline body
That would make it correct and not a hot rod indeed!
Thanks for the vid yo!
You are very welcome, thank you for checking it out!
Run the hard body tamyia lunch box dodge van. Would go good where the engine and trans are mounted. Have the dog house to get access to the engine
I kind of dig this idea! That could be a great winter build, with a slightly larger body.
Ugly box award cracked me up. Not to many will get it.
Facts!
landrover series one crew cab with wood flat bed
I like that!
K5 blazer body
In hard body, that would be the one to go with!
Or, maybe even Gmade’s blazer(buffalo) body, it’s pretty scale for being unlicensed.
Not sure on the exact body you should use but I think it should be a Chevy body since that is a Chevy motor just my opinion
