Green Darner dragonfly largest in CT - up close!!

This beautiful female Green Darner paid me a visit today. They are the largest in Connecticut with wing span of 3 inches. A mighty predator! It eats insects ie bees wasps beetles flies and other dragonflies. They have been known to even tackle hummingbirds! It also migrates South for the winter.
They symbolize transformation. I have seen them swarming my yard late in the day. To finally see one so close is thrilling for me. She is otherworldly to me. Known to be the first flying insect before dinosaurs with wing spans of 2 feet. It's a new moon, time of transformation and then this happened....
