The discussions had in chat, the games Pete talked about extensively that came out over the course of the decade, is a treat to watch and listen to. Even reminded me of at least a dozen games I need to go back to and play, most of which are not even captured here. Also, more people need to head over to Pete's Twitch channel anyways. The Dorrknob family is ever growing!

This is such a "Pete Dorr" list that I couldn't help but smile during the whole video. It reminded of the good time I had watching your older videos, all the time I spent listening to AGG and the few times I was able to catch the streams and I loved every second of it.
One of the few people who connects with me with my love for FF13. It’s amazing how much negative pushback it got but it hooked me and felt like I was on a grand adventure. It was at a turbulent time in my life as well which is hard to factor in but happy to see others touched by the game and not burned by it

You’re reasoning behind your favourites ties to your personal experience with each, and I think that’s way more impactful in a Top 10 than just popular opinion or hype. This is probably the most unorthodox list that I have seen for Top 10 games of the decade, but I guess that is what is so great about you. You have such a wide taste for games and have tried so many, but in the end it is either in quite conventional games or one of the more unknown ones that you find joy in.

hearthstone is an amazing example of how to make a game "feel" fun. digitally simulating a card game in a way that feels engaging, responsive, and enjoyable to interact with is one of the most impressive achievements ive seen in a video game. i dunno about the actual game design and balance though lmao

My list would be the something like the original Cold Steel duology, Uncharted 4, Walking Dead, Journey, YS Lacrimosa of Dana, Three Houses, Fight Night Champion, Dead or Alive 5, Valkyria Chronicles IV, Dragon Quest XI.. Sorry for the semi cheat.. I actually prefer the combat in Ni No Kuni 2 tho I understand why you would choose the original..

I like seeing peoples personal top 10s. There are definitely games that are objectively not even good but I personally had really good memories with or much more fun with than some triple A titles. Good job dude! Sadly I also actually quit the last guardian due to knowing what i had to do and not being able to make trico do it, i had read some people had a bug at that point and i wasn't willing to start over entirely. I will reload it one of these days and have another crack at it.

watching this video made me sad because I realised that, I too no longer have time for longer games. It sucks because I am a big RPG fan. When Dragon Quest 11 came out, I played it solidly for an entire saturday morning until late night, then realised I would really fuck up my life if I played it any more so forced a hard stop. It's just how life goes I guess. I have a baby and a full time business now so gaming just comes last as much as I love it.
Maybe Pete's not a fan of Zelda: Breath of the Wild? I wonder if he ever made a video discussing it. BOTW is my favorite for the decade. I was absolutely mesmerized by it from the very beginning. I still am.
I don't think Pete is that big of a Zelda fan in general. IIRC he likes Ocarina of Time, but other than that, not so much. In his top games of 2011 he didn't include Skyward Sword. Not because he didn't like it, ut because he hadnt bothered to play it.

Hey Pete, have you played GRIS? It kinda gave me that first feeling I had playing Journey for the first time, highly recommend it.
ff13 cutscenes blew me away never beat it but always been excited to pick it back up.
