- The maple sap stopped running as we hit above seasonal temperatures. It felt like summer for a few days and I tried to take advantage of this warm summery weather, but it didn’t last long as it is back in freezing weather. Spring is here and the snow has almost all melted.
I am so glad to have some maple syrup this season…
There’s nothing like homemade especially on homemade buttermilk pancakes.

Spring is peeping through now but like you winter is still resisting not letting go so easily. I love seeing the grouse and then the chipmunk running up behind it.

Watching this made me remember my childhood. Dad would cook pancakes for us almost every morning. They were so good, however they didn't stick with you for very long. One thing you might consider is, try spreading peanut butter on them. Now don't knock it till you try it. It works best while the pancakes are hot enough to start melting the peanut butter. If you want to get exotic with them then fry an egg over easy and put between them. That gives them a extra kick. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
All the ruffled grouse are all but gone here in the appalachains....the dnr moved in coyotes and they are destroying alot of wildlife here. I use to hunt grouse but now it's just a memory.

Hi Lisette. That maple candy on snow look tasty. During the summer I work at a open air museum. But druning the off season we do events. One is maple the frist taste of spring. I work an area that we call the encampment. We show early 19th century sugar camp starting out. This year we boil down some sap to sugar over a fire. But before it reach that I did candy on snow just like you did.

Loved loved loved this video! Just came out of the hospital today where I got unexpectadly and wow is this a lovely way to recover! The maplesyrup lookes so tasty and these pancakes delicious!! I had to laugh about sweet Miss Snow who tried so hard not to look at your plate filled with bacon haha.
The kayaktour was so breathtaking beautiful, that area is really stunning. And together with the lovely backing violin music it brought tears in my eyes (maybe still some weakness 😉)

By the end of this video, I was in screaming hunger pains. You didn't get me this time though. I have supper waiting. I've made maple syrup just once because it's so much work. Yours looked awesome. Beautiful job again on the video but still you should warn us if you're cooking A lot of people will be eating at midnight if they watch you late.

Great job, reducing the sap definitely is a labor of love with all the time that goes into it. That was interesting about the difference in color of the syrup from what time in the season it was collected. I that how they grade syrup depending on color ?

YUM! EVERYTHING in this video looked delicious! I decided at the last minute to tap my maple trees last week and only got about 10 gallons, so I made Taffy with it. I ended up with 1 pint of Taffy. I have a bunch of birch trees that I have tapped and they are starting to produce sap so I'm hoping to gather enough to make a quart of syrup to try. Nice video❤

The taffy was so good!!!! Yum!! And no baking soda, although I do put some in at times. I actually don’t even measure my ingredients half the time. Hahaha. 😆
