0:34 - AIS doesn't inject air into the exhaust "to burn off excessive fuel". Excessive fuel being burnt off would be the shooting flames & popping backfires on throttle roll-off that you get with a freer flowing exhaust. Manufacturers like to say air injection helps the cat converter etc, but I think the extra air pumped down the exhaust pipe simply dilutes the CO2 and the other crap being exhausted by the cylinders so that the bike meets stringent emission standards. Just like when you find your cup of coffee too sweet - you just pour more coffee into your cup to dilute the sugar.
There is no point getting block off plates if you're going to get the ECU flashed. When the ECU is flashed they can switch off the AIS and then it doesn't affect the air fuel ratios so therefore dyno tuning is straight forward. Also if you want to keep the popping and flames on deceleration the AIS hose can be clamped off for the tuning process so it doesn't affect air fuel ratios. Then when the tuning process is done the hose is unclamped and you still retain the popping and flames but you have a good accurate tune still as it is preset in the ECU.
I did a full exhaust with a flash tune by vcyclenut left the ais in. The flames are pretty cool but that’s my personal opinion. I didn’t care about the little extra power you get from the block off plates. Also the bolt may be missing from the side of the tank because it is recommended to do the throttle body synch every oil change and you have to remove the tank for that.
Suspension > power mods Especially with a budget suspension bikes like the FZ09. The motor is already plenty rowdy. Need to rework front and rear to help control that rowdy motor.
Do you actually get more horsepower from that airbox mod? Wouldn't there be potential to mess up the amount of air that each individual throttle body gets? Maybe that long tube is to ensure the air flow is even across all throttle bodies, instead of like a 25%, 50%, 25% mix? Also, race filters are ment to be cleaned and re-oiled after every race, lol. They really shouldn't be installed on a street bike. I don't know. Just my opinion.

Obviously at various speeds this box is designed to address as many of those scenarios while maintain efficient and clean delivery of air to the filter. I would never.. modify the box without doing extensive testing… Yamaha engineers made it that way for a reason.
I'm running P08 F1-85, and there is a good amount of debris in the airbox where the velocity stacks are. I have a video showing the filter, and airbox (top and bottom) after 3000 miles of street. Supposedly filters down to 85 microns. Overall, I guess I'm ok with it, in hindsight though I probably should have just got the standard P08 which filters to 80 microns.
Correct me if I am wrong but the smog block off plates will help with the tune because the AIS sends air through the exhuast system to burn unburnt fuel. This will throw off a dyno tune because it will give false readings to the dyno that the bike is running lean.

9:20 I was just thinking this woulda been a great time to do the filter.
I wish some times like this one I could jump in the video... shorten the snorkle etc etc... CUT IT FROM THE BASE CHANGE THE FILTER AND DRILL WITH A HOLE 50MM? 60 MM? THREEE HOLES LEFT RIGHT CENTER AND FINISH THE DAMN JOB... GET AIR!!!! best to do it to keep the stock filter cut the paper and live only the metal screen...
All I do is pick up my seat, remove the fuel lines, and lift out my gas tank. Gotta love the simplicity of 70’s commuters.
Yeah this isn't too bad compared to my R6 haha
What year is the bike in the video
best chain sprocket for more torque ?
i have a tracer 900
I've never bought a bike or car brand new, so I've always had to deal with the previous owner's mess ups. I say it's part of the fun, but usually it's just frustrating!
Does the Yamaha fzo7 have the same smog a i s system on it ???
Please change the indicators
is your check engine light on since you changed the exhaust?
Thats nice man but please don't pull out the O2 sensor
Vinicius Alves why not? Im using woolich race tools and o2 sensor was removed
@@laddaevolta The O2 sensor is the only thing in the bike to lnow how much fuel you are burning, you can remove but its not good at all

Hate when I get popin on decel. So annoying when I'm slowing down from 70 on the highway.
nOO kONTENTZ!
FTW!!
:-)
The very first mod should be changing those big ass ugly turn signals!
Why not do velocity stacks also?
It doesn't improve things. Lower power for the majority of the power band and less smooth delivery.

Smog block off plates 🤔
The ads really make me not wanna watch your videos at all.
This is how he feeds his family and provides us content
back to texas why???
Just block the AIS with a marble. Essentially a free mod that is easily reversible. And to all you who say it will get sucked through the tube and into the engine, shut up no it will not.
Even better, use a large bolt that super snugly fits inside. Still paranoid? Use a few zip ties to make the hose even tighter so it will definitely not be getting sucked through :)
Greetings from Germany :)
I'm just going to say truck horn...
Hey man @motonosity I have been riding a Honda dual sport 250 for about 2-3 years (on the road) and am ready for an upgrade, I have done my due diligence and it seems that the community is pretty split on whether a noob such as myself can handle an R6 as my first "street" bike. I feel very comfortable on motorcycles, however I feel that your input would be a great help, thanks!
