eeeek!! so adorable! LOVE the colors! the shading you add is just amazing! like always!! and the little gathering of the baked goods ingredients is SOOO cute!! eek!! that square is a perfect way to add focus to them!
You sound like you are really having fun making this! I will make one for my friend who bakes cookies with my granddaughter! She deserves something very special.
At some point can you do a video for beginners? I would like to start stamping and card making but wouldn't know where to begin. What basics would this beginner need to buy without investing a fortune and finding I have no artistic abilities?! lol Thank you! (Love this card, by the way. You are so talented)
I can't offer advice on what to buy, but I can tell you 2 things: 1) If you want to get into stamping & card making, resign yourself to spending a fortune. It is addictive! :) and 2) Artistic "abilities" and "talent" are over-rated. All you need are skills, which can be learned. Find good crafters like Nichol (Kristina Werner & Jennifer McGuire are 2 more of my favorites), and learn everything you can from them. Also, never be afraid to experiment and "mess up." It's only paper, and it can frequently be fixed. Let me welcome you to this wonderful hobby!
@Wiggin'Out My best advice is to remember you don't have to have everything all at once! I've built up my collection over many, many years. I would start by purchasing 2-3 stamp sets that have caught your eye and a nice basic black ink and maybe 2-3 ink pads in your favorite colors. Try out whether you like solid stamping or coloring in your images (or both!). I would start coloring with colored pencils and if you find you enjoy that process you can gradually add other types of coloring tools to your collection/stash. My recommendations: 1. Good white cardstock. I like Neenah Solar White 2. Good Black Dye Ink. My Favorite Things Hybrid Black would be great. 3. 2-3 stamp sets 4. something to color with (markers, colored pencils) 5. watch your favorite card makers and see what they seem to use over and over again. most include supply lists with their projects to help other cardmakers know exactly what we are using. Have fun!
Wow, I love, love, love the dark bluish-green flour bag you did! Absolutely gorgeous.
