- This is the title track of a 1994 recording by the Hot Five Jazzmakers which is soon to be re-issued on CD. It was recorded live at one of the band's Saturday matinee sessions at "C'est what?" 67 Front St in downtown Toronto
Another tune from this session is also on youtube - "Oh Baby" The late Jacques Gauthe was in wonderful form and the rest of the group put down a perfect New Orleans beat. Janet Shaw's clarinet meets the challenge in an inspired manner and the end result was a great number. We are so lucky that the cameras and tape recorders were there to capture a magic moment on the Toronto jazz scene!
Great 🎵🎼🎶🎹
Fantastic clarinets and a wonderful bass man.
I don't care if I die tomorrow;I have heard Janet Shaw and Jaques Gauthe playing this tour de force on clarinets.I cannot praise them enough.
I can listen to Janet either on saxaphone or clarinet all day. Wonderful sound.

Hermosa interpretación de la canción original del Mexicano Juventino Rosas...!!
Yes. This tune became part of the New Orleans musical tradition through the visit of the 8th Mexican Cavalry Band for the 1884 Cotton Centennial and subsequent visits.
