Thanks :) I think we have something called pellon in French too, used to do curtains at some point :) If I look at pellon, it definitively looks like it :)
Its so beautiful!!! The hand stitching and roses and French knots really make it. What a beautiful idea. I will make this. Love your work. TFS! Austin,TX USA
You can do it! :) for sure! just trust the process … I had no idea where I was going and how it would end-up but when I was placing some lace, I knew they looked good so, I stitched them and added and added :)
Hi Anne! That turned out so pretty! I luv the embroidery stitching, and your fabric labels really put he finishing touches that make it so sweet. Very inspiring! TFS! Lil hugs xo
I just adore this Anne! Your work and style is so beautiful and simple. I've always wanted to make a snippet roll, but have never gotten around to it. Your presentation makes it simple and fun, yet extremely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing!
Please do! 😀👍🏼🌷 it is scary to try as we don’t know where to start and where we are going but trust the process and keep adding details, portion of laces, buttons, embroidery stitches et voilà! you will get a cute piece in your hands! 😀
You could also use some fusible webbing on the strip, it comes in very lightweight with a paper backing which you would iron onto the strip, then peel off the paper and you could lay all your laces and labels on then put a non stick sheet or a piece of parchment paper over everything and iron using steam. The "glue" would seep through the lace and catch the labels into place as well. It won't make it too stiff to stitch and will be even more useful when you do your embroidery/darning foot demo. You are so creative, and your work is gorgeous.
So pretty Anne. We have started our journey to Spain for Christmas, we arrived in France last night and on my travels another snippet roll was on the agenda to do xx
Hi Anne it looks like non elastic waste band roll” It’s an interfacing I use when I make shorts or uniform skirts for the grand girls !! Great idea mine is 1 1/2 wide on the roll .. great find it’s expensive!!
Hi Anne, These are so pretty I amgoing make one, but you put (part one) in your description , is there a part 2 as well? Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials!
When you popped the pin to hold your snippet roll, I noticed it was a lovely rose pin. Would it be possible to find out where you purchased that. It is so pretty! Thank you!
you cut them to the size you want to add little pieces to your junk journal page or use them as decoration. my favorite way to use is to cover the spine of a junk journal.
You can get the digital kit and print on paper or fabric : odulcina.etsy.com/ca/listing/1152693994/antique-labels-digital-set-printable-for I have a tutorial to show how I print on fabric: th-cam.com/video/KF-ORPpwsNA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=GplNSsnPl8B1sGOY
You cut pieces of it to add to the junk journal as snippet or a longer piece to create a belly band but the best usage I find is to glue it on the spine of the journal to hide the signature thread.
Thank you for this inspiration, and sharing your talent♥️
Anne, it is pre-cut interfacing, (Pellon in USA, Vilene in England). It is probably used for waistbands or plackets. It is perfect for this purpose.
Thanks :) I think we have something called pellon in French too, used to do curtains at some point :) If I look at pellon, it definitively looks like it :)
Looks like interfacing for skirts pants and belts
Great for sewing
and it would work just fine if it is not what I used. :)
