Hey, The Last Knight got a Blu-Ray release over a week ago! Really want the movie version of "We Have To Go". I really love the music bits where Megatron gets his arm sliced off and Quintessa's last moment. :)
This track seems to have been put together with various parts of other tracks in the Transformers 4 OST. Does anyone know what track the part starting at 1:14 comes from. I don't recognize it.
Probably "Death of a Friend" and then... I don't really know. I'm not going off any set order, I just do whatever seems like a good idea at the moment. Tell me the ones you want to hear most and those will get priority.
psychokitty444 Well as of right now, just the "plot pushing" songs played in the beginning of the film like the "opening - past" etc....if that gives you a good idea of what im talking about. i get that some of the tracks have yet to be heard like "tessa gets chased by the dogs"...but if you could like a place holder for the knightship tracks until those are released that would be VERY appreciated!
You know 'End Fight With Lockdown', the ending track for this scene??? Don't suppose you could please mix a version of just that track with the 'Battle Cry' lyrics transplanted in??? Thanks.
It... has its ups and downs. It was produced in a far shorter window of time and clearly suffered for it, but has some stuff (Dinobot Charge, Legend Exists, His Name is Shane and He Drives, etc.) I would rank among Jablonsky's finest work.
psychokitty444 I actually hadn't listened to His Name is Shane and He Drives, and that was pretty awesome I'll admit. But even dinobot charge, I thought Decision was better actually, just because the horns sounded real where in Dino Charge they sound weird. I'm sure they were still real horns but they sounded off, and not nearly as exciting as Decision. Plus Imagine Dragons' involvement was way too apparent. I enjoy everything about Honor to the End (especially Cade Charge) but the lyrical version just kinda screws it up for me. It sounds pandering to its teenage audience. By the way what's your favorite Transformers score? I'm kinda stuck between the beautiful grandness of 2, and the epic, godlike sound of 1.
Superultramegaa LastName Nice catch on the brass. Didn't notice it before but between TF1 and Gangster Squad, recording horns properly seems to be one of Jablonsky's weaker areas. My favorite score? Easily the complete score for 2. 1 has the best musical ideas, and 2's score is the most musically loyal to it of any of the sequels, but ROTF takes those ideas to new places, both smart and wonderfully action-movie-dumb, and covers a plethora of styles with its new material. Weaker audio quality aside, you really have to listen to the complete score to get a grasp of the scope of it.
psychokitty444 Yeah, I love a lot of the action suites for 2 and every version of Prime in that movie is fantastic in a different way. I also love the way they used the Autobot theme in Forest Battle and I Claim Your Sun, (even if it was just the first part of it.) I even like how Prime seems to be an extension of Optimus' theme and the demo All Spark/Arrival to Earth themes with the same note pattern. I actually surprisingly used to stay away from TF2 because I found out Linkin Park was involved. It wasn't until recently where I read a review praising it, did I open up to it and begin to love it. The way Jablonsky turned New Divide into an action theme was amazing. I thought it would be pandering and annoying but it was actually really exciting and fun! But 1 I think i enjoy better just because it feels the purest. It feels the most like a traditional Zimmer like score (which I don't mind at all) and if I had to guess it has the most real instruments of the 4. Plus every suite (besides Witwicky) is amazing in their own ways, and it has my favorite song of any score, the Optimus theme. Plus it has the most nostalgia for me as I listened to it all the time as a kid. Plus the variety is amazing, with electronics, traditional percussion, Dark Knight sounding drums (which I love more than any other type of drums in scores,) flute, cello, regular strings, horns, choir, etc. Plus hands down to me it has the best unused suites and tracks than any score so I think the complete score is the best for that one, (don't get me wrong I love ROTF's complete score too.)
