TMI Project: Period Power Stories (2023) | Katie Samedova

Katie Samedova (she/her) comes from a long line of academics and doctors. She navigates her first period with calm understanding based in science and logic. But, when her period unexpectedly arrives weeks early during a particularly stressful time in her life, it challenges her confidence in science and logic and heightens her awareness of the mind-body connection.
This live performance was a part of TMI Project’s Period Power Stories, a 10-session TMI Project storytelling workshop in which students and facilitators of Kingston High School’s Period Power! Club crafted personal narratives to destigmatize menstruation, raise awareness of period poverty, and inspire action to ensure free menstrual products available to all students who need them. It was presented at The Senate Garage in Kingston, NY on December 6th, 2023
