- HELLOOOO!! I have yet another burnt clutch to replace, and the guys over at ACT were kind enough to open up the shop on a Saturday so I can use their lift.

Great video. Hard working crew. I've said it before, Line Loc. I know Tony doesn't like them, but millions of people use them for burnouts and they get the added benefit of having their brakes working properly at over 100 mph. Just a thought.
Seconded. A line lock and a 2 step limiter are two of the best things I did to my stick shift car. That and the Quicktime bellhousing, your feet are worth the money and added weight.
It's been sooo long since I've rowed a manual and released an old Hurst line lock...!
I so want to go back to a manual with my street/strip car.
I'm no stranger to manual as for the last 12+ years my daily drivers have all been manual (2012 JK unlimited and an old rusty 1991 chev K1500 with a vortec V6... oh yeah and my 1950 Ford with a flathead and column shift).
The street/strip car I'm talking about is a 1970 442 like Tony's dad's car, same color too in twilight blue. It came with an auto, bucket seats and column shift but nobody will know when I swap a manual in it...but it won't be a muncie
Duh a line lock! The faster that car gets the brake bias needs to be changed to the rear anyway. The front runners won't stop a mudslide. Burning through the brakes of the tire with the MOST contact patch is not a great idea.

I didn't realize it was that light, that 2400lb hat might be why you cooked the clutch - that's kinda light for slicks.
I'll bet that 2700lb (I ran a 2800 in a heavier car with a 2.20 first gear) is a whole bunch happier.
Yeah, slicks on the street to drive there and back - memories! I got caught in the rain one time, good thing I grew up driving in snow, 🤣🤣🤣

Sometimes I feel sorry for yea Miss You do hard work and you seem to manage to find the nicest guys around to help you your also one of the kindest sweetest woman I see around. Joking or not from Tony gets old not like he doesn't break shit all the time that's part of drag racing. A line lock would prevent things like this but I honestly think the fact it didn't give much indication it was slipping in the first place by bogging the engine down not like you are using 1400hp it didn't even pull down the engine it slipped with ease if you ask me some extra rear brakeage and it smokes the clutch their likely was some grease that helped it get slipping the traction had np pulling engine down under a launch but in the burn out box didn't seem to pull engine down at all either way was really good of that guy to let you use the facility to fix it and good of him to help you. some Italians have a huge Ego to them that shows a lot lately in tony hence you doing all the work and him filming why cause you did what he does and all drag racers do that's break shit but not all of us act like an ass have to prove were a better driver and watch them change there clutch while we make smart ass remarks. Your too good to tony you'll defend him but you deserve better and someone who isn't just trying to exploit your ass none stop in your videos your a talented woman smart and you do know how to drive a car just get a line lock and never burn a clutch in the burn out box again. Anyway that's just me my opinion. But I think you channel would grow more if you did the videos without him filming your ass none stop makes you appear cheap and dumb but I believe your a ton more then that to bad doesn't get shown. Gj on changing out a clutch really cool of the dude letting you use his facility and helping you while tony sat back filming your ass and making remarks about you and your ability's. Sorry but someone needs to say something.

Tony is a street racer, not a videographer. I appreciate the out of focus at home feeling of your videos. Lot of youtubers are all about professional looking videos and what not, gets boring.

i got real good at dodge v8 clutch replacement in high tork v8 about the 4 time in a month i got sick of it the thing in the crank where pilot bushing was out of center, engine out apart & 318 in for a week the flywheel different it was fine & it was to much work i sick of diesels blowing up weeks of engine work! i got rid of car it was totaled in 3 weeks about 4 months the job was done ( burned up place, 2 stroke diesel run away apart caught place on fire the worst day of the year snow storm) like a year and half later a GM attorney we knew it do that! why you knew this? he said a flapper in the air scoop or piping to shut off air none i saw or switch or lever in cab! of white truck the phone rung he talked we own white truck now! just settle with the rich doc he lost his house hold stuff! i lost my shirt but i work for GM sort of Grumman LLV mail trucks GM supply frames and drive line! in court ( i work for people paying me that gm asked what i saw i lie my job gone I fired it government contractor) the moron put the fuel rack on wrong he did it! no me!

Man I’d try a puck style clutch. My ram hdx clutch holds all the abuse I put to it being a turbo on a slick car. Never tried act, never had a reason to anyway
And its smoked again I had the same problem with my 73 comet and 11 inch clutches kept smoking them .

Would like to meet ya but I doubt it’ll take place. Rebuilding the clutch discs is more economical than buying new new ?? Dumb question but anyway.

Did you guys have to change the rear main seal? You never said if you had too or not!!
We did! Just as a precaution. We couldn’t tell if it was leaking from the rear main or somewhere else.
Just tell him yes, those rear pinion yoke straps and bolts, are for perfectly mating the rear drive shaft u-joint to the pinion yoke surfaces...in 4 places!🤣

Torque on the flywheel bolts are 60 ft lbs on ford 302/351 with loctite. Any higher and the rear main leaks. Distorts the surface where the threads are..
It’s 85ft-lbs with threadlocker.
What is the part number on that clutch. I want to order one.
F013 I believe, if you just ask for what I have, they’ll know what you’re talking about.

@@MissMidnightMaverick yeah it’s a full interior car nothing really stripped down so it’ll be heavy. I think it would be a good race. Same engine builder as the one who built the motor in the white car.
You need a sprung ceramic clutch plate. Ideally 6 springs Or if you do not street drive it a solid centre plate.
With the above a std pressure plate will suffice.
The word is knockometer,, a precision hitting device. Come in steel, copper, nylon and rubber.
