Here in sweden we have salt licorice and raspberry ice cream and a ice cream named Lakrispuck that is a licorice-coated ice cream... Salt, ofc... So it's already invented xD
Snigeln Åke I didn't think it was too bad. I wish we had salmiakki ice cream in the USA though, it sounds amazing! I'll try to make my way to Scandinavia, one day, and definitely try it! =)
As a Swede, I can tell you that not /everyone/ loves licorice here, but it's not seen as an odd type of candy. It just has to do with what people like or not, like with everything else. Many types of "gummy" candies that are sweet, come in licorice versions, so it's often an alternative. Basically, when candy comes in different flavours, licorice is usually one. There is a difference between "Sweet" licorice and "Salt" licorice though. But both are just as common. Personally Salt licorice is my favorite candy of all time, but I absolutely hate sweet licorice. I honestly love all the candy that you ate on the show, except the pipes..;
True not too much on the slow witted part but we do apparently speak really wierd its also very hard to learn danish but for us danes its actually easyer to learn other languages tho my auto correction on my computer is pretty fuckt
Ville Lepoaho The video is about SWEDISH SUPERSALTS. I don't know why you are brining Finland in this, and I never said that only Swedes eats salts... eat as much salts as you want, I dont give a fuck.
Yes, it's true that Scandinavians have an acquired taste when it comes to licorice. I would say that about 80-85% of all here enjoy it. That Tyrkisk Peber candy is an extreme, but all licorice here fluctuates between the sweeter all the way to salty and strong. But yes, the majority of Swedes enjoy the taste. The lack of availability of tropical flavors combined with the readily available flavor of black licorice has lead to the cultural phenomenon that exists in Sweden today. Candies that American taste buds would enjoy more from here would be the fruity bits in Gott och Blandat, Marabou milk chocolate (which is surprisingly made by Kraft), Plopp, Diam, Bilar, the bon bons (little mints) made by Läkerol, Kex, etc. Basically the more sweet & fruity flavors. It's funny you should mention peanut butter. Peanut butter overseas is a joke. The reason they don't like it is because they simply don't have it. There is a factory in China that produces peanut butter under the label of "Skippy", but it's NOT Skippy. It's what we would consider, like, the equivalent to some sort of unsweetened industrial peanut paste. It's so rough that you can actually see the pits of red skin and shell in the butter itself. It's NOT what we consider peanut butter. I have Jif sent to me from the US because of this. Once they try Jif, they usually realize that they've never actually HAD real peanut butter, and what they THOUGHT was peanut butter isn't even close. So I wouldn't say they don't like it. It would be more accurate to say that most of them haven't had it available and what they have experienced was terrible. If you really wanna make a Swede make a funny face, put some French's mustard on their hotdog or hamburger. They're not used to the sourness at all. Most Swedes want what we refer to as "Big Mac sauce", or as they call it "Amerikansk Dressing". They drown their burgers in it. Everywhere. It just stuck here, lol. You have to specifically tell them not to put it on your food here.
That's all very interesting. The "big Mac sauce" you referred to may not be the same as actual sauce we put on big Mac's here in America. McDonald's uses their version of thousand island salad dressing as "big Mac sauce", which is basically ketchup, mayonnaise, and pickle relish. I don't personally care for that flavor, but it's very interesting that it's so popular in your home.
+SyKo McAwesomeness We also love licorice in Denmark, but of course it varies from person to person, though i think it's on a scale as big as in Sweden. Personally i like the salty ones and some of the strong ones like the tyrkisk peber :-)
dimondglory Eating some right now. There's stuff made with malitol, so it's less caloric than sugar. They taste exactly the same as normal stuff. Not bad for your teeth, but can cause stomach pain and if you eat too much and can be laxative. But it's pretty awesome for snacking on every now and again.
I'm from Denmark and I'm pretty sure most people like licorice. But I think it's just because we're used to eating it (like most people in America like peanut butter). I have been waiting for so long for someone to send salty licorice, so I was extremely happy when I saw what you were gonna eat!

Yeah, I would also say it's about 60%. And I'm the same, I can't stand the sweet licorice, and not the extremly salty ones either. Turkisk Peppar is the best licorice!
Americans are used to 2 types of candy.. Very artificially flavoured fruit candy that taste like plastic, and chocolate without any real coco or milk that mostly resembles wax more than anything else
Omnom Nomy Its maybe because you are used to your kind of candy where your from, Rhett and link don't like it as much because they are not from sweden so they aren't accustomed to their kind of candy.
Hello Stranger! So you're looking at these comments thinking, "But who's right?" Filip Hoffman I said "not everyone though". But licorice is a bit like olives, the taste is a bit too strong for kids, but when you get older that doesn't bother you. But the taste might still be bad for some people, including you.
***** Half a teaspoon? Why bother? If you don't like it anyway all you're getting out of that little bit is flavor, not any real nutritional value. Just skip it.

I like how Link is like screw this letter imma use it as a place to put my gum since imma throw it away later anyway. Then he's like yeah I'm just gonna put this licorice in here since it's all going in the trash. C'mon now, show some respect to the letters people send you!
Yes but he has immortalised the letter for the person that sent it if that person wanted to see him read the letter, they could do it everyday and feel good if they wanted too!
I've lived in Stockholm my entire life and I'm not a big fan of licorice. Don't think many of my friends are either, but my mum and my friend's mum love it, especially the licorice pipes. You've only gotten to try the extremes, Djungelvrål probably being the worst, but we have lots of sweet sweets, like Marabou chocolate. That's shit's delicious.
and for me it's like a hunt for golden egg to buy it... I never had hard salty one... I had only dutch salty but it was soft jelly with salmiak on the outside :*( i loved it.
Magnificent Misanthrope We have a far more similar culture than southern usa and mexico tho. Finland actually has a moderately large bilingual and swedish population.
Born and raised in Tennessee, but I have scandinavian and Scottish ancestry, and I love licorice. Nver had it salty though, but it sounds interesting. I like salted chocolate at least. And I'm like the 2% of Americans who don't like penny butter. The way it sticks to your mouth, and the flavor is like gelatinized urine IMO. Definitely gag worthy. I love jelly and or Nutella though.
I don't know that I have much (if any) Scandinavian ancestry, but I have a LOT of Celtic, so it's possible I have some in my lineage somewhere. I kind of have the same relationship with licorice as I do with peanut butter. I have to be in a certain mood for it.
A tip is to put the turkisk peber in vodka and wait for a couple of days for it to mix. Vodka make the liquorish flavour more intense, so if you like liquorish you should definitely try this :) // swede, and I love lakrits
I'm from Norway and I LOVE liquorice! My favourite candy. I would say about 60% of people here like it. Peanut butter on the other hand tasted so weird the first time I ate it(I didn't 'grow up' with it), but I've learned to like it.
Probably 90-95% of us in Scandinavia likes licorice... It's very weird to meet someone that doesn't like it, and that is born in Scandinavia... But we have both salt licorice and sweet licorice, like the pipes you had is sweet licorice... People here normally have a favorite between sweet and salt, but still like both. Gash, I got almost jealous seeing all that licorice!
Villiam Cavallin Maybe I have no idea, I just counted my absolutely best friends on my fingers and made it 80% that way by knowing wether they like it or not haha.
no haha its quite different. i like snus but not the taste. just the sensation, like smoking. and i like liquorice for the taste. btw i've never seen a black person snus. pretty interesting.
Ben Dover i just like liquorice. i dont love it. your theory is not correct, because many feel that way about it here in sweden. and i would know. its just what you associate the taste with, some think it tastes like shit and i wouldnt blame them, it can look like it.
Taste Sking you still dont have the slightest clue., you sound like 12. and just cause you dont agree with my theory that has to do with ppl in general doesnt make it not true. the world doesnt spin around you. and yes i have tried snus.i have been using it for 10 years. i'm a white Swedish male dude.
The taste most people outside scandinavia don't like is called Salmiak, and is a type of salt made of Ammonium chloride. I go nuts for it. Djungelvrål is the best damn candy there ever was.
What if: 01) The Show! 02) Then there is the "Good mythical more"! 03) AND NOW: Rheth and Link are leaving the studio... an the "Mythical crew" just cleaning up the studio and sometimes jumping in front of the cam and sometimes talking... u know... preparing the next show, or just leaving the studio. Chanel Name: "The Rhett and Link crew"... Y NOT? =D
I am from Denmark (svandinavia) and pretty much everyone love all of the candy you just ate. I personally love all of them and they are probably my fav candy.
I'm from Finland, and basically everyone likes liquorice and/or salmiakki (Finnih salted liqourice). People who dislikes these, are hard to find and usually teased about it.
Yeah It´s even bigger with Liquorice in Finland than Sweden.... Ive been there and wow they got much of that black stuff! Rhett & Link should try Leijona cause they are really bad tasting XD
Well, I don't really mind Leijona either (don't like, don't hate) , but Tervaleijona (Leijona with a tar taste to it) is a whole different story. I love that stuff.
That's what they do with your letter? Use it as something to wrap their spit-outs, like chewing gums and stuffs? Then roll it up, squeeze it, throw it away? I feel so offended for the sender. I would have cried if I was the sender. I would have thought I had written something bad for my letter to be treated like that.
My guess is that it's between 60-80% of danish people love liquorice. Link, awesome job on the pronunciation of the danish on the Haribo bag. As always I love the show, and watch it religiously with a friend of mine :)
And to clear off to you everybody, Fazer is finnish. Malaco is a brand of Leaf, and Leaf is a nowadays called Cloetta Suomi Oy', which is finnish-swedish company, but, leaf was originally swedish company. Fazer is also nowadays a part of Cloetta, but it was originally created in Finland.
yle.fi/uutiset/fazer_sweets_to_be_100_finnish_again/5839473 read this. Cloetta Fazer which was a joint venture, was split in two, sometimes around 2008-2009.
I'm from Sweden and i only like the salty liquorice, not those pipes, i want djungelvrål. Sweet and liquorice just doesn't go! I heard some Americans have sugar on their popcorn..Eeew.
My favourite is salty liquorice, I think it is finnish though. Its in a plastic jar with a white lid and I think its a penguin on the label on the lid.
I love liquorice so much and especially salty liquorice . I'm from Sweden and I think most of the Swedish people like the salty and extremly taste of it :)
My friend gave me Djungelvrål expecting me to react like Link, but I ended up liking it so much, she gave me the whole bag. Maybe it's like cilantro where it tastes way different to certain people.
I'm from sweden and I like liqourice, and the rest of the family behind me loves it, although my little brother hates it. COnclusion? The new generation are liquorice haters.
I think it's the way you're raised. For example in Australia most people love vegemite. We're a country on immigrants (minus the indigenous Australians) so it's clearly not a genetic thing ;)
Ethical Erica Naw I'm a swede. ^^ Molten" he" Have only tried it on bread. It was a bad Idea. :P And while i loathe vegemite there is also marmite which is even worse.
SweLandsHD Correct if I'm wrong: 1) 100 years ago Fazer family (with German roots) started their business in Finland 2) had a fusion with Swedish Cloetta in the last decade 3) The companies are currently separated
most people love it, but some are not a fan of it. oh and year we do have ice with licorice and it is amazing! licorice is a big thing in Denmark the pipes are from here. it is very popular to have it in the ordinary food, like: cakes, cholade and also in ordinary food (the salty kitchen) +Good Mythical MORE :)
I'm from Finland and I'm in the minority of people who don't like salmiakki (finnish word for salty liquorice). The Tyrkish peber (which means turkish peppers) is from Finland and that is one of the worst candies I know. But as I said, I represent the minority, because most of the Finns LOVE salmiakki.
as most acquired tastes we are being intruduced to liqorice when we are kids and not liking it, but when you grow up i guess your tastebuds gets used to it or something and you end up liking it, this happened to me with gourmet cheezes, mushrooms, liqorice, etc. kids ususally dont like cofee, beer or wine, but like it later
I'm in the UK, and I'm pretty sure I don't know anyone who doesn't like black liquorise here. Been eating it since I was a baby... on the other hand peanut butter is disgusting -_-
Haha, Danish here and I feel the exact same way, people who dont like liqourice is a rarity, and its considered one of the "main" candy types. Peanut butter on the other hand... ugh, how anyone can enjoy that stuff,I don't know
I am Swedish and I'm raised partly on fish and caviar (the tubed one that I have a feeling you've tried) and so my pallet has most likely adapted to the higher concentration of salt in my diet. I'm pretty convinced that it's related to our food culture :) For the record I absolutely LOVE our black gold :) I could seriously steal all your stuff! Great episode!
Omg I love that turkish pepper! At first it tastes like a hard sweet candy but once you bite through it's like an atomic bomb in your mouth! It's actually finnish but the company makes candy also in sweden.
Linn Zwedberg There is actually something called "Red Liqourice" In America.. But Liquorice root's extract which is used in it is black, thus making it black or dark. America just gotta artificialise everything you know.
everybody like it here. im from denmark. and we eat it alot. those pipes you ate was almoste bandend by the govement becous they think it make kids smoke. but there was a mega media storm from the puplik to let stem stay.
Im from Sweden and I think you're right Rhett. It is a tradition introduced to the children and they like it and they will pass on the tradition to thier kids
Licorice is also Dutch. I didn't know it was that big of a thing in Scandinavia as well, but I'm happy that it is. It's one of my favourite things and now I feel like if I do decide to spend a year of university in Sweden, I don't have to pack a year's supply of licorice :)
I bought a bag of these salted licorice at some Swedish store in downtown Atlanta. I forced to myself to eat the whole pack until I ended up loving them. I am now addicted.
You forced to yourself?
zrksyd Yea. I was dedicated to liking them.
FouwiiMedia Pretty sure he refered to your typo since you wrote "I forced to myself to eat...:"
Martinuz RS oh yea XD.
FouwiiMedia ;_; I never tried licorice but I probably encountered them at least once.
Djungelvrål is Love. Djungelvrål is life.
I prefer salt candy
Really ^^ i agree
MisterTipp true
MisterTipp so true

Did not even try it all that is a shame, I wanted to see them try djungelvrål

Haha åsså svensk! ^~^
Hej
Wtf
Here in sweden we have salt licorice and raspberry ice cream and a ice cream named Lakrispuck that is a licorice-coated ice cream... Salt, ofc... So it's already invented xD
Snigeln Åke I was thinking that too; also salmiakki vodka (salmiakki Koskenkorva)
erik m Yes we do have some salt.licorice beverages, haha. But those are actually pretty horrible. O.O
Snigeln Åke I didn't think it was too bad.
I wish we had salmiakki ice cream in the USA though, it sounds amazing! I'll try to make my way to Scandinavia, one day, and definitely try it! =)
They do have black licorice ice-cream! It's SO amazing! They also have balck licorice sprinkles!
"You know how there's red vines and there's black vines? I go for the black vines."
"Really?,, oh I go for the exit."
COULDNT STOP LAUGHING
SAME!😂

In Sweden, every fucking dad eats these salts, so you can't really escape it. Other than that, its very delicious.
Every dad? Why dad? I live in Finland, and we eat a crap ton of that in here
Ville Lepoaho I never said that only Swedes eats salts and, why dads? Because it is the dads that eat salts most of the time.
TheFelixpax Well, i eat liquorice as much as i want, and its wonderful, and that is a finnish thing, not swedish...

Almost everybody likes liqorice in Denmark. I would say about 80-90%
peanut butter is really bad (i am from finland). liquorice is nice though
I'm from sweden and I would say that 60-80% of people like licorice. I can't stand the sweet licorice, but I love the salty one. Specially Lakrisal and Pingvin!
I dont like tyrish peter. I like licorice, but not all the time. I don't like the salty one and i am from europe :)

Tyrkisk Peber is from Finland!
+PowerLord83
It's actually more Danish than Finnish.
***** :^)
Yes, the name is Danish, but its from Finland.
Hello Stranger! So you're looking at these comments thinking, "But who's right?"

+mcparty ahahah, Fazer just goes ahead and buys everything
+mcparty ahaha yes, I guess one will be standing in the end. Hmm... I wonder which one
Licorice is lovely.
Yup!
Totally!
I've tried licorice but it taste so bad.
Tyrkisk Peber is made by the Finnish company Fazer .
but the recipe itself originates in Denmark

In Sweden, a lot of kids hate licorice, but most 13+ like it, not everyone though
I am 13 and I love licorice
Sweden FTW! You gotta love Djungelvrål and Turkisk Peber!
Zandiaz will I don't really like Turkisk Peber... But Djungelvrål is great! :D
I´m from Sweden too and I don´t like any licotice, and i´m +13. It´s like any other taste some like it some don´t.

80% like peanut butter
20% are allergic
Not allergic, cant stand PB. Only use half a teaspoon of smooth in smoothies and shakes

Americans hate salty candy because they are not used to it cause everything they eat is sweet.
true.., I have a similar theory
I think we just prefer salty to stay out of our candy.
Bullshit. I'm from southern America and everything we eat is fried and salty. xD Candy-wise, I like saltwater taffy if that counts.
salt and candy don't go together.....
Anna Nikole I guess living in California has blinded me of what American life is really like? Sounds like you live at a county fair.
+IscoDisco Sorry men jag är emot lakrits
+Tilde Bergström Jag är så glad att jag har lakrits bredvid mig nu, annars hade jag blivit galen...
Djungelvrål is delicious!!
Curry Cornelis Mollberger Djungelvrål and Marabou chocolate is so delicious! I can almost die for it!
Zimulator96B
And the two combined, even better!!
Curry Emahgerd Djungelvrål is life!!! I love to see americans reactions, because they just hate it xD
Zimulator96B
For one bar?
I'm from Norway and it's kinda 60% of people like likurish I like it you should try brow cheese its a kinda creamy carmal
that would be hilarious :D, we all know that very few non-norwegian people like it.
What's the local word for licorice? And caramel? I'm guessing you're ESL. That rhymed.
Brunost är gott på våfflor!!!!
What's brunost?
Licorice in Finnish is 'lakritsi', caramel is 'karamelli', and salty licorice or ammonium chloride is 'salmiakki'.
Like 97% Of the people In Finland Likes liqourice. Salmiakki.=Finnish and lots of people love it. Including me
and for me it's like a hunt for golden egg to buy it... I never had hard salty one... I had only dutch salty but it was soft jelly with salmiak on the outside :*( i loved it.
Finlands doesn't count, that's eastern Sweden.
Almighty Toffeebomb That's like saying Mexico is southern USA. Sweden and Finland are two different countries.
Magnificent Misanthrope ... I was joking...
Magnificent Misanthrope We have a far more similar culture than southern usa and mexico tho. Finland actually has a moderately large bilingual and swedish population.
Om någon blandar i lakrits i glassen kommer jag knycka den med en gång, fan va gott vaniljglass med lakrits är.
+Knugen av Swärje jupp
+Knugen av Swärje så sant älskar lakrits

Born and raised in Tennessee, but I have scandinavian and Scottish ancestry, and I love licorice. Nver had it salty though, but it sounds interesting. I like salted chocolate at least.
And I'm like the 2% of Americans who don't like penny butter. The way it sticks to your mouth, and the flavor is like gelatinized urine IMO. Definitely gag worthy. I love jelly and or Nutella though.
Peanut* autocorrect.
I like Pb & J without the Pb :P (I do love grape jelly doe)
It's not normal salt (sodiumchloride) in salty licorice it's ammoniumchloride also called salmiak. So it doesn't really taste salty. But i love it!
I don't know that I have much (if any) Scandinavian ancestry, but I have a LOT of Celtic, so it's possible I have some in my lineage somewhere. I kind of have the same relationship with licorice as I do with peanut butter. I have to be in a certain mood for it.
Swedish but never really liked licorice:3
A tip is to put the turkisk peber in vodka and wait for a couple of days for it to mix. Vodka make the liquorish flavour more intense, so if you like liquorish you should definitely try this :) // swede, and I love lakrits
This. ^
I'm from Norway and I LOVE liquorice! My favourite candy. I would say about 60% of people here like it.
Peanut butter on the other hand tasted so weird the first time I ate it(I didn't 'grow up' with it), but I've learned to like it.
Btw. Link sounded danish when he read from that candy, kinda funny.
A Sandreassen I think it's actually Danish
wotcherfrida Yes, I believe so too, but I wasn't expecting him to actually sound danish. :p
Salty licorice is my absolute favorite! When I lived in China, that was the ONE thing I always had to bring from Denmark.
You didn't eat the Djungelvrål!!!!
80% of the Swedish population enjoys liquorice, I would say.
I'm from Sweden myself.
its probably more than 80%, more like 88% or something
Villiam Cavallin
Maybe I have no idea, I just counted my absolutely best friends on my fingers and made it 80% that way by knowing wether they like it or not haha.
hahah ok, it can probably diff a bit from place to place.
not true, more than at least 60% of the ppl i know hates it (me to)
Scandinavians might like Liquorice/licorice for the same reason they like Snus
no haha its quite different. i like snus but not the taste. just the sensation, like smoking. and i like liquorice for the taste. btw i've never seen a black person snus. pretty interesting.
Snus? Yuk! Horrible! Salty liquorice? Delicious! XD. Swedish and 24 years old.
Ben Dover i just like liquorice. i dont love it. your theory is not correct, because many feel that way about it here in sweden. and i would know. its just what you associate the taste with, some think it tastes like shit and i wouldnt blame them, it can look like it.
Taste Sking i feel like you dont have the slightest clue of what im talking about.
Link used a fan's letter to wrap his spit out food in...
I felt that was very disrespectful of him 😑 he has a trash bin nex to him, he also put the gum. I love them but that was just plain rude
The taste most people outside scandinavia don't like is called Salmiak, and is a type of salt made of Ammonium chloride. I go nuts for it. Djungelvrål is the best damn candy there ever was.
or you mix liquorice with salt. salmiak is just a cheaper alternative really.
liquorice with ammonium chloride*
What if:
01) The Show!
Y NOT? =D
So like a behind the scenes
"Good Mythical Most"?
Yes Rhett! Come to Sweden!
As a Swede in London, watching this made me realize what I miss most from the old country... Liqourice!
7:00 Link tries to speak Swedish, and does a good job :D
...not
Except that is actually Danish ;) Some of our classics are imported.
i know the candy is made in Denmark, but i assumed it was Swedish since the candy was send from Sweden...
Yeah, it's weird that they kept it in Danish. You had a totally reasonable assumption :)
Jag tror Han läste danska eller norska på paketet
I'm pretty sure that Turkish Peber is from Finlanf and Haribo is from Germany..
Roope Poikala Finland*
As a swedish person I can say that I don't know anybody that doesn't like licorice
Yeah. Im finnish and i don't know anyone who doesn't like it
+Abbe Mårtensson I don'te bonte like it min vän
My guess is that it's between 60-80% of danish people love liquorice. Link, awesome job on the pronunciation of the danish on the Haribo bag. As always I love the show, and watch it religiously with a friend of mine :)
Salty Liquorice was actually originally made as a cough medicine. There's a lot of northern europians who doesn't like salty liquorice at all.
King Anesthatic didnt know that fazer is a part of cloetta
And Finland got awsome candy (from a swede)
yle.fi/uutiset/fazer_sweets_to_be_100_finnish_again/5839473 read this. Cloetta Fazer which was a joint venture, was split in two, sometimes around 2008-2009.
Oh, the time flies then :)
I'm from Sweden and i only like the salty liquorice, not those pipes, i want djungelvrål. Sweet and liquorice just doesn't go! I heard some Americans have sugar on their popcorn..Eeew.
Sweet liquorice tastes like play-doh!
Like the ones in Gott & Blandat!
My favourite is salty liquorice, I think it is finnish though. Its in a plastic jar with a white lid and I think its a penguin on the label on the lid.
Ever put salt on watermelon?
I love liquorice so much and especially salty liquorice . I'm from Sweden and I think most of the Swedish people like the salty and extremly taste of it :)
My friend gave me Djungelvrål expecting me to react like Link, but I ended up liking it so much, she gave me the whole bag. Maybe it's like cilantro where it tastes way different to certain people.
I'm from sweden and I like liqourice, and the rest of the family behind me loves it, although my little brother hates it. COnclusion? The new generation are liquorice haters.
No i hated it to when i was young and now i love it :3
I think Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Denmark all have those candies and they are great. Getting a serious craving for liqorice watching this.. :D
and Finland too!
I think Finland has the best liqorice and chocolate! 50 % Finnish!
+Jinn Tu then you haven't tried Freia from Norway😁
+Mind_ haunter (Tjukklabb) We all know Finland knows their chocolate and licorish*!
where is finland we got Salmiakki and fazers chocolate
I think it's the way you're raised. For example in Australia most people love vegemite. We're a country on immigrants (minus the indigenous Australians) so it's clearly not a genetic thing ;)
vegemite is the worst tho! :P I can stomach eating grasshoppers, termites and all sorts of stuff (even liqourice) But i draw the line at vegemite.
Chizeron LOLLLL. Are you Australian?
he/she probably doesnt know how to serve it
Ethical Erica Naw I'm a swede. ^^ Molten" he" Have only tried it on bread. It was a bad Idea. :P And while i loathe vegemite there is also marmite which is even worse.
No Vegemite is just not a food that should be consumed, I have always loved liquorice.
Salty licorice is from Finland and it is called salmiakki
HEJA SVERIGE!!!
MEN VISST? :D
Absolut :3
NORGE ER RÅEST!
hur kan inte link gilla mitt favorit godis!
Jag förstår inte varför det är så svårt att tycka om svenskt godis? Jag tycker vårt är mycket godare än Amerikanskt >w
Isin't fazer from finland?
SweLandsHD
Correct if I'm wrong:
1) 100 years ago Fazer family (with German roots) started their business in Finland
2) had a fusion with Swedish Cloetta in the last decade
3) The companies are currently separated
The only licorice that I like are the salty ones :P I love the "Jungle screams" they are one of my favorite candy
Lakrisal er min favoritt ❤️👍
Norway? Im swedish and I like: Salty and fruti.
most people love it, but some are not a fan of it. oh and year we do have ice with licorice and it is amazing! licorice is a big thing in Denmark the pipes are from here. it is very popular to have it in the ordinary food, like: cakes, cholade and also in ordinary food (the salty kitchen) +Good Mythical MORE :)
im from sweden and i think 75% likes it. (im NOT one of them)
***** ***** illuminati 100% julia var i sverige bor du?
+Joel Ekstrand jaaaa! Roll the x files theme song.
U takin da shrooms?
Xxmaster13lord14xX yep
"You've already eaten it? Is it already in your mouth?" Seriously Link this is Rhett you are talking to..he loves food!😂
You should have sampled the Lakrisal. Salmiak goodness.
Peanut butter on the other hand... ugh, how anyone can enjoy that stuff,I don't know
I've never liked liquorice sweets, and I'm from England. I like that type of flavour in savoury foods though.
yeha im from england and i dont like it.. lol
peanut butter is really disgusting i hate it but i like black liquorise
My bf is from Wales, he hates black liquorise but loves peanut butter..
Actually we have salty liquorice ice cream in Finland :D
I am Swedish and I'm raised partly on fish and caviar (the tubed one that I have a feeling you've tried) and so my pallet has most likely adapted to the higher concentration of salt in my diet. I'm pretty convinced that it's related to our food culture :)
For the record I absolutely LOVE our black gold :) I could seriously steal all your stuff!
Great episode!
I live in sweden but seriosly... 85% Hates Licorice...
yup, sure thing because 85% of "swedish" ppl are from Africa
yea
well 85% is overkill.. living in scandinavia dosen't make you scandinavian.
I´m born here xd
mabey 85 present of your friends dont like but don't say 85% population dosen't
När han tog upp skippers pipor fick jag upp den underbara lukten.
MÅSTE HA SKIPPERS PIPES
Omg I love that turkish pepper! At first it tastes like a hard sweet candy but once you bite through it's like an atomic bomb in your mouth! It's actually finnish but the company makes candy also in sweden.
Reading these comments makes it looks like an exclusive Swedish show lol
7:00 That's actually danish, the Haribo slogan ;)
+Eadbusta Poxnora i come from denmark do you?
"Why is it black?"
Is lakrits any other colour?? Brown maby
Linn Zwedberg There is actually something called "Red Liqourice" In America.. But Liquorice root's extract which is used in it is black, thus making it black or dark.
America just gotta artificialise everything you know.
there are people who think peanut butter is gag worthy?
+AirreElise I can't stand peanut butter
+AirreElise I don't like it xD
+AirreElise I don't get the thing with peanutbutter...Love salty licorice yes.
+AirreElise Yes, if you know what it is!
+AirreElise yea me and i love licorice
3:40 It's probably because we cured fish and game with copious amounts of salt for so many years we developed a taste for salty stuff.
kids usually dont like licorice in sweden and many swedes think that peanut butter is to much
That is right
swede here, I cant stand peanut butter but turkish peber is my favorite
+Kristoffer Linder i like licorice too
Jag älskar lakrits!
Vadå barn gillar oftast inte lakris i Sverige?? De flesta barn gillar ju det.
Mmmm, licorice! My absolute favorite candy ever. Now I want some...
It's super salty and the salt doesnt go away it's super salty the whole time
I love supersalty licorice
Same with me. I should probably move to Sweden :/
***** move to us... move to the candyland sweden
*****
How about I just visit all your countries and buy so much licorice and candy that I am too fat to leave the country? ;)
Someone need to send Rhett a box of Svenskjävlar
the pipes are danish
and haribo is german
Magnus Ipsen Yes but they only sell those types of haribos in sweeden
Harry naah, dude, we have those in Denmark too.
HARIBO is from norway. And…I really wanted to see you guys reaction on the Djungelvrål :( -Sandra from Sweden
And Fazer is from Finland
Alle i Danmark elsker saltlakrids
Why didn't they try the Djungelvrål!?!? That's why i watched this video in the first place.
oh yeah and thumbs up for the guy on left eating the candies like a boss not whining or over reacting.
I'd say that 50% of Scandinavians like liquorice.
I'm from Sweden and this was where very funny
båda är svenskar och båda har mc bilder :O
TheSwedish doctor Och ni båda är säkert 11.
***** Det var väldigt nedsättande av dig :c
ok förlåt att jag sa något :c
Hey swedes
everybody like it here. im from denmark. and we eat it alot. those pipes you ate was almoste bandend by the govement becous they think it make kids smoke. but there was a mega media storm from the puplik to let stem stay.
and the best liqurise dosen come from scandinavia. its from england.
Mikkel Kamper Yeah, but Scandinavia is best.
Hey the best liquorice comes from finland!
Yeah, but Norway is best
I doubt eating candy pipes will make kids smoke. By that logic, do they think that I will want to become a cannibal by eating sour patch kids?
Im from Sweden and I think you're right Rhett. It is a tradition introduced to the children and they like it and they will pass on the tradition to thier kids
Just to get it clear everybody in Scandinavia likes licorice.
no
yes
no
then you are not a real scandiniavian
that doesent have to do with the fact if you scandiniavian or not.
There actually IS a salt liquorice ice cream...
SIAs lemon liquorice is good stuff!
i'd say 50/50 likes that here in sweden .. its so different from one to another .. i dont like it at all and im swedish
True!!!
+Mattizhhhh Jag gillar inte det heller lol
Licorice is also Dutch. I didn't know it was that big of a thing in Scandinavia as well, but I'm happy that it is. It's one of my favourite things and now I feel like if I do decide to spend a year of university in Sweden, I don't have to pack a year's supply of licorice :)
