I just bought me a 2020 zr same color as this white with the black roof here in NZ. Absolutely loving it, looks beautiful it drives so smooth and it gets great fuel economy
Your comment of "addictive" is on the button. I had no intention of buying a hybrid, finished up buying the ZR as you drove here. Having said that, as I write this, I'm almost two months into a three month wait for delivery. Good to hear your comments on the sound system as I never bothered to turn it on. I test drove a mid-spec petrol only version and thought the sound system somewhat crappy - nowhere near as good as my current 2012 Mazda 3. A good review I thought. Cheers from NZ.
@Joe Le Bloggs Thanks Joe, I’m glad to hear you enjoyed my review. I think the hybrid system is one of the deciding factors for anyone buying a Corolla. I always appreciate a good sound system in a car, I can’t stand the cheap ones that don’t have decent quality sound. I hope you enjoy your new car when it arrives, just find a way to turn off all the traffic notifications otherwise it will drive you mad!
In your opinion is the black roof more more of a manly look? I’m about to order this car and don’t know if i should go the black roof or just standard white, I do really like the look of the black roof though
Great review, might have to take a test drive. The most important thing to me is performance and (I suppose) engine sound. You didn't mention those at all.
@Steve Bond. Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it. Definitely worth having a test drive. I thought the performance wasn’t too bad, and engine sound was ok too.
Webby On Cars ... me neither till I had a look a Professor John Kelly on the "Weber University " channel he not only explains how it works but he does a detailed strip of the transmission.😀
Very good looking car.I like the white with the black roof very nice spec. All the new cars seem to be going with the big grill image,it must be the latest thing.👌
@@WebbyOnCars I have a Toyota Camry RZ 2014. I’m now stuck in between a new Camry Ascent Sport hybrid or a new Corolla ZR hatchback hybrid. Originally I was planning to purchase another Camry. Now I’m not so sure. We have two kids, one is five, one is an infant. I do like the ZR hatchback, its smaller, easier for my wife to park, and with this top-of-the-range model, she can have all the safety features. What do you think? What’s your instinct, if you were in my position? Thanks!
@@tpplatfzft I would compare the two cars on how much rear space they have for your kids, as child seats take up so much space. On that basis I’d probably go for the Camry as I would think the rear of the car would be better suited. Have you maybe considered a RAV4 hybrid as an option?
@Ashley Omer Great question. Personally I’d go for the Hyundai, as I prefer the turbo engine and the specifications suits what I want from a car better.
Nice car but you forgot to show us the boot. I had heard it was too small. Does it have a space saver spare wheel? And is the front passenger’s seat height adjustable? Thanks.
Hi Garry. Thanks for watching my video. Sorry, I forgot to discuss the boot. It is small for the size of car, and especially against others in the class. It doesn’t get a spare wheel just a tire inflation kit, which a lot of people won’t like! No the passenger seat doesn’t have height adjustment
That is not right answer, only when you press the EV button and the coolant is not at the write temperature. But no ones uses the EV mode in daily drive. The car shut down the gas motor automatically until 100km/h when you take the foot from accelerator. In my daily drive to work, I drive 8km on eletric on a total of 12 km, it depends on the geography of the terrain and the way you use accelerator. Good review.
@@WebbyOnCars in some days the back of my mind says "live a little" and other times "less complications" on the engine (anything is better than Ford). I dislike hoons but I also dislike slow drivers so definitely I'm a warm hatch at heart. I will test drive both next week hopefully.
@@WebbyOnCars it's the sunroof that draws me in with the premium. I park my car outdoors 24/7, would that affect the seals on the sunroof in the long run? I almost forgot how hot summer gets.

Love your next gen ranger review. Got my next gen raptor since then. Now I'm waiting for my 2024 corolla zr hybrid and watching your corolla review 😅

Thanks for the review. Very useful
@Queenie Chan No worries at all

@Alysha Sarah I think the black roof definitely looks better, it’s a nice contrast to the white and gives it a sportier appearance
I’m buying one next month 2021 model in Melbourne!
@Ranjith Jay Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your new car

It's a ECVT nothing like a normal CVT no belts no pulleys it's a transmission drive with electric motors in the unit as well.
@Tony S I was aware that it was slightly different to a normal CVT, but didn’t know this info, thanks for sharing

I like the colour scheme too. Yes, big grills are definitely a thing, every manufacturer seems to be going that way now!
Looks good in that spec! 👍

Thank you for the review. Just wondering where is it made? Japan or somewhere else?

Hi, does the door gets locked automatically while driving or is it something you have to do it manually every time?
What colour white was this, glacier or frosted

Ok so it starts on battery, but how far will it go on battery alone and at what speed does the engine Kick in?
Battery only can drive up to 2km, at speeds up to 30 km/h

Torn between this car or a Hyundai N line, any thoughts?
