    Recently made it to state at Texas DECA in my first. I prepared for months and watched many of your videos so thank you.

      I'm so glad this helped. I hope you make it to ICDC! Keep up the good work.

    Never done DECA and never have joined DECA. I was just curious what DECA does and how they do their competitions. This seems so hard :(

      It's a really interesting way to practice real world critical thinking and public speaking. If nothing else, it helps you prepare for a world of difficult interviews and meetings with bosses who ask tough questions.

    Really appreciate the video! I was wondering if you had any advice specific to professional selling? This year, the prompt is to sell health and safety services to convenience stores which seems a bit niche (since you'd have to know a lot about safety regulations).

    thanks man! i am currently doing BMOR and this helped a lot, as the guidelines given by DECA were pretty vague. i tried really hard on my paper and i think it turned out well. i had two question. is it better to use a powerpoint to present or a trifold? my second question is more related to my paper in particular. my paper incorporates ethereum applications, and i was wondering if it was fine to leave a physical ethereum token in my brochure for the judge.

      Thanks for the compliment.
      Trifolds are hard to manage. You either have to set up too close to the judge on the table of being an easel. Easels can be a pain. I think I would find a creative way this year to present sitting close to the judge but not use tech... Everyone will use tech this year. Be creative with the physical space of the table between you and the judge.
      NO! You cannot leave the judge ethereum. That would constitute a payment to the judge, which isn't allowed.
      Best of luck in BMOR.

    Hi, the link you provided for the rubric is moved, is there any possible way you can fix it? Thanks? Or you can just put it in the description, (I'm doing Project Management, thanks!)

      Yes, I'm sorry. The DECA website updated over the new year. Here is the link you are looking for. assets-global.website-files.com/635c470cc81318fc3e9c1e0e/639a9972d5923413702fc772_HS_PM_Guidelines.pdf
      I will update my sheet soon! Thanks for the information.

    Great video! I had a question regarding written events. I did PMK this year and sadly was unable to qualify for icdc, but I'm super psyched for next year. I'm very interested in doing IMCP and was wondering if it'd be a good idea to start preparing right now, even though it is many months in advance.
    Loved the video!

      Yes. Start the work right after your SCDC. Planning early is the best advice.

    I'm currently doing FCE this year and am wondering how I can present something unique. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you for all your advice, it really has helped as I have just started cramming for the state exam in three days!

    • @BowtieGOAT
      @BowtieGOAT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brian, the FCE prompt for this year requires A LOT of details to be filled in. Getting a mortgage with $65,000 is way different by region, credit worthiness, etc. I would create a "dossier" of sorts to profile the consumer, who is the judge. Consider talking with a realtor about how they help someone through the process. If your presentation was REALLY like how a realtor sells, it should go well. Realtors do not give PowerPoint / Google Slides presentations! Find out what they do and try to mimic that!

    • @iano6910
      @iano6910 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BowtieGOAT thank you! the idea about the dossier was something I was thinking about, and I was planning to reach out to financial consultants before competition!

    im chooseing events for the firt time and is it hypothetical or do you have to contact the brand?? im so confused please help ive been looking everywhere for answers

      @irooki9857 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      CONTACT THE BRAND!! Emphasis on that. Contacting the brand and getting as many interviews and communications as possible is the best thing you can do for your presentation

    Ok so im doing an apartment center for homeless people, if I leave a brochure with the judge during the prez, and then at the end I leave them with an invitation to apartment open house and leave my number, socials, email on that for them to "rsvp" would that take away from the conclusion or add and stand out, and can I leave an entire folder with them summarizing each section?

    • @BowtieGOAT
      @BowtieGOAT  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think that would add to the presentation.

    Are written events easier to place in that roleplays

    • @BowtieGOAT
      @BowtieGOAT  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on the competitiveness at your district or state level, but generally yes. Once you get to ICDC about 220 individuals make it for a role play event while about 175 teams make it. You have a slightly better chance of DECA glass in a written event.
