Again the conditions gave the fishing an extra twist just make it even more of a challenge. A thunder storm while in a mountain valley has to be one of natures perfect surround sound moments. A major safety concern would be how high is the risk of a sudden spate surge of water? The rapid hit from a foot plus of extra water. Can turn interesting into darn dangerous pretty quickly. Back in the nineties while fishing the upper Tyne. A pollution spill from the toilet roll factory at Prudoe needed a fast flush from Kielder to clear it to help avoid a major fish kill. I heard the rush of water. Rushed to the bank too late it took my feet out from under me. Lucky for me I had a life jacket that inflated. Almost a mile before I managed to get to the bank and a long soggy walk back to the car. With a wreaked set of waders lucky only the waders and not my leg slashed open.
Hi, love the video what a beautiful place. I don't want to ask you for the exact amount it cost for this trip but how much roughly would a weeks fishing cost there.
It's funny how many of those fish are stocked trout 😂😂😂. what's the point? 90 euros per day 🤣. One reason local Slovenias can't afford to fish there.. All for rich foreigners who don't know the fish are stocked 😂😂😂
I think most anglers know the fish are stocked. It’s not a big secret. I think it is expensive for sure but it is still a lot less expensive than fishing the Test or the the other chalk streams where I live. I wish I could say I was rich but that’s not the case. I like everything about Slovenia could the fishing be a little more affordable yes. Will it stop me returning, no.
Watched part 1 and was amazed by the water. Watching part 2 there at the end where you released that trout and the clarity of that water is magical. 😊
It’s a great place to visit even if you are not fishing 👍
Beautiful country and big trout, fantastic.
Very special place.
What a beautiful place, thanks for sharing.
Very welcome 👍
Excellent video
Thanks pal.
Excellent. We enjoyed that. Challenging conditions.
You can get caught out with the weather but that happens everywhere 👍
Absolutely beautiful..... Thanks for sharing!
Great place if you are looking for a destination that has it all 👍
Great short video Lindsay stunning fish & scenery 🐟🎣
It was a shame I had not realised I had lost so much footage when the laptop went wrong 🙁 That was just b roll clips with a voice over.
@@lindsayiflyfish you’ve got some clips to remember it 🐟🎣
Very good Lindsay …stunning location …and some stoic resilience shown by the two of you in toughing it out and putting fish in the net 🤔👍
Thanks pal, you don’t go all that way to look out a window at the rain! 👍
cracking video again Lindsay but hard going when its pouring and you get soaked thanks again
The soaking came from falling in rather than the rain. I don’t mind a bit of rain 👍
Excellent videos Lindsay 👌👌👌
Thanks Robbie 👍
Lesley and Tomo run a great set up. Good bunch of guys
Had a great trip, Tomo was an excellent host. Looking forward to my next trip to Slovenia. Want to get off the beaten track next time though.
Last time we went miles into remote gorges. Proper adventure and a lot of scrambling down huge valleys. Found some great grayling

Sounds like you were very lucky Mick.

Just watched the part 1 and saw the prices lol, 1 step ahead of me.
No bother it could be done cheaper. We stayed in top notch accommodation and if you were to buy a five day ticket you get one of the days free.
@@lindsayiflyfish thank you, I’m a student so cheaper is better, lovely river never seen one so clear even in Scotland
@@rtgMTB Careful pal it can be addictive ;-) .....lol.
Are there rivers/waters in Slovenia where fishing with spinners/spoons is allowed? I have yet to learn how to fish with fly rods:)
Not sure buddy never fished like that.
👍138 from a new subscription! Very good fishing spot 👍Greetings from Indonesia, Greetings One Hobby 🤝🇮🇩👍

It's a long way to go for some very expensive fishing
@@thomasharrison72 and worth every penny!
People say the same about Scotland, with several of the big rivers charging >£250 per day...
@@roryrandomnumbers Access to good rivers will always come at a premium. It is a great shame.
