I need to work on making my bed - I haven't started doing it yet because my energy is virtually nonexistent being on dialysis, so I use what I have to get the 'urgent' things done these days. Dishes, laundry, trash, cooking, etc are my current priorities, but my goal is to start making that bed!
Maybe you’re making your bed by now. If not, you can make it so easy, it takes no effort. Just use a comforter with a comforter cover and you’re done. No top sheet, no frilly cover on top of comforter. Your bed is made in 1 minute.
Fun ... I switched on this one as I am working by my sewing machine, on ... My bed. I am finally putting the binding in place on my bedspread quilt, an ongoing or resting project something like for fifteen years. From now on when I make my bed I will have all these colors and shades on my bed instead of just a dark wine red one! Then I will paint the walls and make new seats for the chairs, probably another ten years, well maybe just five. So I am making my bed, sort of.
My home is sparkling and it almost cleans itself. Love all the routines. (Not doing the shoes though- they hurt my feet. Use Japanese house “shoes” inside.)
I gotta tell you my days are so much more complicated than just doing my flylady routines. I’ve got large yards to mow, fertilizers to apply, trimming, watering, weedeating, watering, and weeding. RV to wash and wax, keep running, same with the car. Two animals to look after, baking, cooking, and when life returns back to normal I’m a substitute teacher. O Lord thank you I found flylady.
I did put dinner in crock pot today per your suggestion & what a relief and boost of energy that gave me to know it’s there and done & no worries later on what’s for dinner as it’s in. AND no worries as to would we just push ❤the easy button and dine out. So boost of energy plus $$ saving! I had the meal planning habit in the past and lost it during rocky days.
As a flybaby, this is a perfect time for me to work on all this! Being at home, kind of forces me to do something in the house anyway. Thanks so much for the help!
I belong to TOPS, and we all take turns doing presentations. One of my presentations was making sure your pantry was stock, and then I asked the members to tell us their favorite meal. I encouraged everyone to take notes, and then we had new recipes to try. There was a lot of Yucks! and a lot of Yums, and we had a blast . My presentation spilled over the allotted time, and it brought back our favorite food memories. I also passed around your book, as my inspiration. Thank you Flylady. Now time for breakfast at my rehab center. Yum!
I have started doing inventory on EVERYTHING in the house! From food all the way to personal care items. I am shocked by how many doubles I have. Not too mention the items I hated but hung onto because I didn't want to be wasteful. I am hoping this will help with the clutter in the cupboards and other places. Plus I am hoping this makes my grocery list be much smaller because I already have stuff!
I read your 1st book yrs ago and it was very helpful. My home has continued to be clean and organized. Of course it's pretty easy now that our 5 daughters have moved out! I still get dressed and make the bed first thing. Anyway, I'm not sure why I clicked on this video, but I'm so glad I did. I forgot what a fun, sensible lady you are.

I feed my children first,play with them for 20 mins and then do routines, 20 mins with your kids is where the magic is, give them 20 mins and start an activity and they will amuse themselves for a while after that. really hope that helps you.x
