    Sandanski looks like a nice place for young couples to start a family.

    I loved when I lived in strumuani - not far from sandansk, so much to see and so much to do. Friendly people and the pizza place further down by the cross roads is super!

    Pedestrians and youthful cyclists interacted about the same as here in California, though it is youths on skateboards that usually cause some safety issues. Liked seeing the smiling little boy waving at the passing police car. Your soup looked tasty.

    News says tourism in Sandanski is almost zero but what to expect if there is everywhere lock-down and quarantine sanction? Actually it is now all over Europe the same, mass unemployment, no tourists. One Bulgarian newspaper says, "The crisis continues to be felt on the labor market in our country - 393 thousand Bulgarians or 11.5% of the population are unemployed. The data are from the National Statistics for the third quarter of the year. Compared to the same period last year, the unemployed have increased by more than 13 percent. (from BNT) So we have to be patient in these difficult times.

    8:12 amazing, largest bank of Bulgaria, "UniCredit Bulbank" we have the same in Austria, largest bank of Austria, same logo, "UniCredit Bank Austria". Normally people think that the largest bank in their country is kind of a state bank. But....UniCredit currently operates in more than 50 countries, with a total of 12.000 branches and 30 representative offices around the world.

      true, I also thought it was just Bulgarian bank.

      @@JannaTravels UniCredit Bulbank was founded in 1964 under the name "Bulgarian Foreign Trade Bank" (BVTB). It is one of several state-owned banks and its main purpose is to serve the international trade of the state-controlled economy. In the following years, the bank opened offices in London, Frankfurt and Vienna and built a network of correspondent banks in many countries. In 1988, together with the Soviet "Vnesheconombank", was founded "Bulgarsovinvest", which was transformed in 1994 into a "Corporate Commercial Bank". In 1998, the procedure for privatization of the state share (98%) in Bulbank began. It ended in 2000, when the shares in the bank were bought by Unicredito Italiano (93%) and Allianz (5%).

    Janna, I am curious- why did you change your mind? Sandanski is a nice small town with mild climate and cheap prices. It’s perfect place to retire ( for your parents).

    • @JannaTravels

      Hello! Yes, it is very nice, the main reason we left is because of medicine, my husband end up in hospital last year and was in shock, nearly lost his nose, I will make a but more detailed video later.

      Janna Travels Sorry to hear about his experience with the bulgarian health system. Yes this is a big problem - the hospitals are really bad. I am bulgarian from Blagoevgrad living for the last 20 years in USA and feeling often homesick. I love your videos from Bulgaria!

    Jana - do you find many similarities between Bulgaria and Bulgarian Culture with Russia and Russian culture in general? I’ve travelled extensively around Ukraine and Bulgaria and i think there a lot of comparisons between the two countries in many ways, just curious of your own thoughts between Bulgaria and Russia?

    • @JannaTravels
      @JannaTravels  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Michael! It is and it is not, there are some similarities yes, in general, but still many differences between Russia and Bulgaria :)
