Very important that good listeners and connoisseurs and music critics are honest and call out poor performances irrespective of brand. Demand is what drives supply. Right now the demand is for acrobatics, musical kusti, Amar-Akbar-Anthony star studded jugalbandis. This is a sure sign of decline of good music. Honesty is the core and Music WILL remain pure.
Superb! Sarangi is also equally brilliant.

When you have a melodious Sarangi, what was the need for Sitar and Harmonium. These Ustads spoil the soul of music. They think people will buy any experiment they do...
This concept of Sitar and Vocal is very bad. Just because both kalakars are great, does it mean the Jugalbandi is good. NO. Because they dont have scope to develop their composition. They may do their part well, but the soul is lost. Please please please dont make a very prestigious festival into a circus!!

What a sham!! Destroying Ustad Bade ghulam Ali Khan's beautiful thumri by turning it into a distorted circus. Rashid Khan thinks he is doing a great job adding to the original great composition by his own vocal extensions and distortions. I am particularly disappointed that Ustad Shahid Parvez has agreed to join this concert. He should keep away from stuff like this.

@@ritvijpantThanks for your comment. Indeed, I could have written more on the subject, but will let suffice what I have already said. Ustad Shahid Parvez is several classes above Ustad Rashid Khan who has done a good composition himself in Des. But most of his other performances leave me cold. The bottom line is that jugalbandis should not be done like this. Too many cooks spoil the broth, as they say in English.
Just unbearable.......felt that some buffoons are on the stage.... especially the Sitar pieces were just comic 😭😭😭😭😭😭..... slightly above average was the Saarangi.....all the others...just waste of time 😭
