You need to listen "Anyone" by Demi live at the Grammys !!!! It's a song she wrote a few weeks before her overdose and she sang for the first time for her come back at the Grammys . Also, "Sober" is a song she released just before her overdose.

I'm not sure if the message they're trying to send at the end is that she actually walked away; you might be totally right, but it was unclear to me
I LOVE these aspects of the song tho:
She sings "I don't know who I am without you/Tell me you love me/I need someone, on days like this, I do" and most importantly, "can you hear my heart say, you ain't nobody till you got somebody." So she's saying insecurity is in her heart, and it makes her FEEL like she needs someone to lean on/build her identity around. But THEN at the end, she sings to herself in the mirror "everything I need is standing right in front of me/ I know that we will be all right" so she's telling herself she was wrong, she doesn't need somebody in order to be somebody, she has everything she needs in herself 💛
