- Happy (Early) Birthday to the King of the Plums, Michael Rosen!
A fun little video I made in which Michael Rosen talks about the narrators of Thomas & Friends, specifically the OG 7: Ringo Starr, George Carlin, Michael Angelis, Alec Baldwin, Michael Brandon, Pierce Brosnan, and Mark Moraghan. Plus some bonus content toward the end!
I do have another video planned in the works that's somewhat related to this, so be on the lookout for that when it comes out. I will say that it's been a passion project of mine that I wanted to do for a while...
DISCLAIMER: I own nothing in the video.
I describe the US narrators as:
George Carlin: The Legend
Alec Baldwin: The Famous Guy
Michael Brandon: The Clown
How about the UK narrators?
@@Shanali-ry1nl
Ringo Starr: The Musician
Michael Angelis: The Guy who Stayed
@ryanfuller912 Nice, but what about Pierce Brosnan and Mark Moraghan?
@@Shanali-ry1nlPierce Brosnan: James Bond
Mark Monaghan: The person I thought was Micheal Angelis
@TheAdventuresOfJimiJaden Oh yeah, Pierce Brosnan did play MI6's heroic secret agent James Bond, which was my childhood, and Mark Moraghan did sound a little bit like the late Michael Angelis.
I describe the US narrators as:
George Carlin, good
Alec Baldwin, the man who did only one narration
Michael Brandon, In My opinion, this is good
Ah yes George and ringo absolute legends they are
Michael angelis is the best
Michael Brandon is a man of enthusiasm, although his character voices are a lot questionable (which makes him my least favorite narrator but not too bad, just okay). Season 7 I can tolerate him in a few episodes, but the rest I cannot stand him. Some of the takes he did when he puts on a voice once and in the next take he did something different or him back to his normal character voice. The only good voices I like of him are Diesel (given how he's his favorite character along with Toby, Cranky and Gordon according to an interview), STH, Duncan and Whiff. Even his Hector roar is what I really appreciate.
I got nothing against Michael Brandon as a person or as a narrator, though I do get where people are coming from when they say he's their least favorite narrator in the series. I don't think he's a bad narrator, and he does have a few decent voices (his Diesel voice is easily the best), but some of his voices are not so good. The episode quality at the time didn't help either IMO, especially during Seasons 13-16...
Michael Rosen would actually be a good narrator
I think Stephen Fry would too.
WHAT ARE THE NARRATORS IN ORDER
Haha this was perfect.
Have you seen my George Carlin retrospective titled "The George Carlin That I Knew"? It's a video I made a couple months ago where I talked about my history with Thomas, STS my history with George.
@@MikeNicholsonThomas Yes, I literally just got finished watching it and I left a comment on that video as well.
@@purplesabbath9057 I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a video I had in mind for a long while, as I wanted to make a video sharing my personal relationship with the Thomas franchise. And considering that 2023 had been 15 years since my favorite narrator died, as well as the story behind it being quite fascinating in my eyes, I decided to do it based on that, and comparing the other narrators I grew up with.
Michael Brandon is the best narrator
